Paris – Olympiacos 87-104: Rain of three-pointers in Paris, Piraeus even closer to home advantage (video)
With 13 three-pointers in the first half and with Dorsey – Peters in amazing condition, Olympiacos easily passed the Paris home team (104-87) to move up to 20-10 in the EuroLeague.
Paris was dangerous, but Olympiacos did the job in France on Tuesday night (10/3).
Piraeus defeated Francesco Tambellini’s team 104-87 for the 34th round of the EuroLeague, moving up to 20-10 (12-3 home and 8-7 away) and are already looking forward to the next challenge, the match against Monaco, on Thursday night (12/3 at 20:00) in Monte Carlo.
With amazing execution from the perimeter (13 three-pointers in the first half), with good work on defensive rebounding, with many on a good night and with the top players Tyler Dorsey – Alec Peters, Olympiacos more than covered the absences of Thomas Walkup – Sasha Vezenkov.
Corey Joseph played 25:17 and helped his team significantly, as Frank Nilikina (6 points, 2/2 three-pointers, 42% on the season from the perimeter) was damaged by a foul.
Paris fell to 11-19 (5-10 home and 6-9 away), with Justin Robinson standing out again against the red and whites with his scoring appeal and good creation. Dalton Holmes was the player who supported him.
MVP
Tyler Dorsey, in terrible shape, finished the game with 24 points in 28 minutes from 4/7 two-pointers, 4/6 three-pointers and 4/4 shots. He also had five assists, for one mistake. He also had 27 points in the evaluation system. He stood out, on a night when many were in good shape. He was just a little better because he scored in the fourth period.
The statistics that stood out
Olympiacos closed the first quarter with 8/10 three-pointers, the Dorsey-Peters duo had 7/8. At halftime, Piraeus had 13/19 three-pointers, but they lost 33-30 in the second period. At the end of the night, the red and whites had done an excellent job in defensive rebounding (30) and had held the top team in offensive rebounding in the competition (8). 11-4 points in surprise, 10-13 points from opponent's mistakes, 10-11 points from second chances.
The match
With Nilikina, Dorsey, Papanikolaou, Peters, Milutinov, Olympiacos opened the match, throwing fire from the perimeter. Dorsey and Peters made 5/6 three-pointers for 8-17 in the 5th minute, as a result of which the Piraeus team found confidence and played enjoyable basketball until the 19-33 point of the period. In which they counted nine assists for four mistakes.
Paris started shooting early in the second, reduced the lead to four (33-37), with Fournier immediately cutting the lead. Bartzokas went with Hall to second in the center rotation, Fournier did everything in scoring and creation, Joseph made the 13th three-pointer for 51-59 and at halftime (55-63) the crowd had had enough of basketball.
Nilikina and Dorsey made the 14th and 15th three-pointers for 60-71 in the 23rd minute, but again Paris stayed close. The attack of both teams was working well, Peters made a technical shot for 69-80 in the 27th minute, Milutinov finished phases and the +16 (71-87) at the end of the third seemed enough to complete the job.
Olympiacos did not score for more than three minutes at the beginning of the fourth, but the home team had the same failure. Fournier made the 17th three-pointer for 80-96 and there the match was decided definitively. Although Piraeus had cleaned it up much earlier.

Με 13 τρίποντα στο πρώτο μέρος και με τους Ντόρσεϊ – Πίτερς σε εκπληκτική κατάσταση, ο Ολυμπιακός πέρασε εύκολα από την έδρα της Παρί (104-87) για να ανέβει στο 20-10 στη EuroLeague.
Η Παρί ήταν επικίνδυνη, όμως ο Ολυμπιακός έκανε το βράδυ της Τρίτης (10/3) τη δουλειά στη Γαλλία.
Οι Πειραιώτες νίκησαν με 104-87 την ομάδα του Φραντσέσκο Ταμπελίνι για την 34η αγωνιστική της EuroLeague, ανέβηκαν στο 20-10 (12-3 εντός και 8-7 εκτός έδρας) και κοιτάζουν ήδη την επόμενη πρόκληση, την αναμέτρηση με την Μονακό, το βράδυ της Πέμπτης (12/3 στις 20:00) στο Μόντε Κάρλο.
Με εκπληκτική εκτέλεση από την περιφέρεια (13 τρίποντα στο πρώτο μέρος), με καλή δουλειά στο αμυντικό ριμπάουντ, με πολλούς σε καλή βραδιά και με κορυφαίους τους Τάιλερ Ντόρσεϊ – Άλεκ Πίτερς, ο Ολυμπιακός κάλυψε και με το παραπάνω τις απουσίες των Τόμας Γουόκαπ – Σάσα Βεζένκοβ.
Ο Κόρι Τζόσεφ έπαιξε 25:17 και βοήθησε σημαντικά την ομάδα του, καθώς ο Φρανκ Νιλικίνα (6 πόντοι, 2/2 τρίποντα, 42% στη σεζόν από την περιφέρεια) είχε φθορά με φάουλ.
Στο 11-19 έπεσε η Παρί (5-10 εντός και 6-9 εκτός έδρας), με τον Τζάστιν Ρόμπινσον να ξεχωρίζει ξανά απέναντι στους ερυθρόλευκους με την έφεσή του στο σκοράρισμα και με την καλή του δημιουργία. Ο Ντάλτον Χόμες ήταν ο παίκτης που τον υποστήριξε.
Ο MVP
Σε τρομερή κατάσταση ο Τάιλερ Ντόρσεϊ, έκλεισε το ματε με 24 πόντους σε 28 λεπτά από 4/7 δίποντα, 4/6 τρίποντα και 4/4 βολές. Είχε και πέντε ασίστ, για ένα λάθος. Είχε και 27 μονάδες στο σύστημα αξιολόγησης. Ξεχώρισε, σε μια βραδιά που πολλοί ήταν σε καλή κατάσταση. Απλώς αυτός ήταν λίγο καλύτερος γιατί έβαλε και στην τέταρτη περίοδο.
Τα στατιστικά που ξεχώρισαν
Με 8/10 τρίποντα έκλεισε το πρώτο δεκάλεπτο ο Ολυμπιακός, 7/8 είχε το δίδυμο Ντόρσεϊ – Πίτερς. Στο ημίχρονο οι Πειραιώτες είχαν 13/19 τρίποντα, έχασαν όμως με 33-30 τη δεύτερη περίοδο. Στο τέλος της βραδιάς οι ερυθρόλευκοι είχαν κάνει άριστη δουλειά στο αμυντικό ριμπάουντ (30) και είχαν κρατήσει χαμηλά την κορυφαία ομάδα στο επιθετικό ριμπάουντ στη διοργάνωση (8). 11-4 οι πόντοι στον αιφνιδιασμό, 10-13 οι πόντοι από τα λάθη του αντιπάλου, 10-11 οι πόντοι από δεύτερες ευκαιρίες.
Ο αγώνας
Με Νιλικίνα, Ντόρσεϊ, Παπανικολάου, Πίτερς, Μιλουτίνοβ άνοιξε το ματς ο Ολυμπιακός, που πετούσε φωτιές από την περιφέρεια. Ντόρσεϊ και Πίτερς έβαλαν 5/6 τρίποντα για το 8-17 στο 5′, με αποτέλεσμα οι Πειραιώτες να βρουν αυτοπεποίθηση και να παίξουν απολαυστικό μπάσκετ μέχρι το 19-33 της περιόδου. Στην οποία μετρούσαν εννέα ασίστ για τέσσερα λάθη.
Η Παρί άρχισε να βάζει τα σουτ στις αρχές της δεύτερης, μείωσε στους τέσσερις (33-37), με τον Φουρνιέ να της κόβει αμέσως τη φόρα. Ο Μπαρτζώκας πήγε με τον Χολ δεύτερο στο ροτέισον των σέντερ, ο Φουρνιέ τα έκανε όλα σε σκοράρισμα και δημιουργία, ο Τζόσεφ έβαλε το 13ο τρίποντο για το 51-59 και στο ημίχρονο (55-63) ο κόσμος είχε χορτάσει μπάσκετ.
Νιλικίνα και Ντόρσεϊ έβαλαν το 14ο και το 15ο τρίποντο για το 60-71 στο 23′, όμως και πάλι η Παρί έμεινε κοντά. Η επίθεση και των δύο λειτουργούσε καλά, ο Πίτερς έβαλε βολή τεχνικής για το 69-80 στο 27′, ο Μιλουτίνοβ τελείωσε φάσεις και το +16 (71-87) στο τέλος της τρίτης έδειχνε αρκετό για να ολοκληρωθεί η δουλειά.
Ο Ολυμπιακός δεν σκόραρε για κάτι περισσότερο από τρία λεπτά στην έναρξη της τέταρτης, όμως την ίδια αστοχία είχαν και οι γηπεδούχοι. Ο Φουρνιέ έβαλε το 17ο τρίποντο για το 80-96 και εκεί το ματς κρίθηκε οριστικά. Αν και οι Πειραιώτες το είχαν καθαρίσει πολύ νωρίτερα.
