Fenerbahce defeated Monaco 88-70 for the 30th round of the Euroleague. Another performance by Horton-Tucker who scored 28 points. Ninth consecutive victory for the home team, 6 defeats in 7 matches for Vasilis Spanoulis' team.
Fenerbahce was much superior to Monaco and prevailed with 88-70 for the 30th round of the EuroLeague.
Horton-Tucker, a formidable player, one game after his career-high of 29 points, scored 28 against the Monegasques and led Sarunas Jasikevicius' team to its ninth consecutive victory in the competition.
Sixth defeat in the last seven games for Vasilis Spanoulis' team, which is desperately looking for victories.
The match
The home team started the match with the gas pedal pressed. Jatunen entered with 2/2 three-pointers, Baldwin and Biberovic provided scoring and creation, resulting in a 14-6 lead in the 4th minute.
The guests, with patience and a clear mind, managed to wear down the Fenerbahce players and often find themselves at the shooting line, reducing the lead to 18-15 with the quarter ending at 20-15.
Both teams were quite inaccurate and nervous in the second period, reaching the halfway point having scored five points each (25-20). Then the home team managed to pick up the pace again and with a quick 9-4 run they reached a double-digit difference (34-24) in the 17th minute. In fact, they had no problem maintaining their lead at the same levels and went to the locker room with +8 (44-36).
In the second half, the dominance of Jasikevicius' team continued. With Colson having an excellent night behind the 6.75m line, writing 64-48 with his fourth personal three-pointer just before the 30′ mark, Fenerbahce entered the last quarter with a 14-point lead (66-52).
In the fourth period, Monaco made a last-ditch effort and reduced the gap to seven (75-68) with 3’47” remaining. However, the home team responded immediately and with two consecutive three-pointers by Biberovic and individual 11-2 runs, they reached +16 (86-70) again with one minute left on the clock, effectively locking in the victory.

Η Φενέρμπαχτσε κατατρόπωσε τη Μονακό με 88-70 για την 30ή αγωνιστική της Euroleague. Άλλη μία παράσταση του Χόρτον-Τάκερ που πέτυχε 28 πόντους. Ένατη σερί νίκη για τους γηπεδούχους, 6 ήττα σε 7 ματς για την ομάδα του Βασίλη Σπανούλη.
Η Φενέρμπαχτσε ήταν πολύ ανώτερη από τη Μονακό και επικράτησε με 88-70 για την 30ή αγωνιστική της EuroLeague.
Τρομερός Χόρτον-Τάκερ μία αγωνιστική μετά το career-high των 29 πόντων του, πέτυχε 28 απέναντι στους Μονεγάσκους και οδήγησε την ομάδα του Σαρούνας Γιασικέβιτσιους στην ένατη συνεχόμενη νίκη της στη διοργάνωση.
Έκτη ήττα στα τελευταία επτά παιχνίδια για την ομάδα του Βασίλη Σπανούλη που αναζητά απεγνωσμένα νίκες.
Ο αγώνας
Οι γηπεδούχοι ξεκίνησαν με πατημένο το γκάζι στο ματς. Ο Γιάντουνεν μπήκε με 2/2 τρίποντα, Μπάλντουιν και Μπιμπέροβιτς προσέφεραν σκορ και δημιουργία, με αποτέλεσμα να προηγηθούν με 14-6 στο 4ο λεπτό.
Οι φιλοξενούμενοι με υπομονή και καθαρό μυαλό κατάφεραν να φθείρουν τους παίκτες της Φενέρμπαχτσε και να βρεθούν συχνά στη γραμμή των βολών μειώνοντας σε 18-15 με το δεκάλεπτο να κλείνει στο 20-15.
Αμφότερες οι ομάδες ήταν αρκετά άστοχες και νευρικές στη δεύτερη περίοδο φτάνοντας στα μισά της έχοντας σκοράρει από πέντε πόντους (25-20). Στη συνέχεια όμως οι γηπεδούχοι κατάφεραν να ανεβάσουν ξανά τον ρυθμό και με ένα γρήγορο επιμέρους 9-4 έφτασαν σε διψήφια διαφορά (34-24) στο 17ο λεπτό. Μάλιστα δεν είχαν πρόβλημα να διατηρήσουν το προβάδισμά τους στα ίδια επίπεδα και πήγαν στα αποδυτήρια με +8 (44-36).
Στο δεύτερο μέρος η κυριαρχία της ομάδας του Γιασικέβιτσιους συνεχίστηκε. Με τον Κόλσον να είναι σε εξαιρετικό βράδυ πίσω από τη γραμμή των 6,75μ. να γράφει το 64-48 με το τέταρτο προσωπικό του τρίποντο λίγο πριν τη συμπλήρωση των 30′, η Φενέρμπαχτσε μπήκε στο τελευταίο δεκάλεπτο με προβάδισμα 14 πόντων (66-52).
Στην τέταρτη περίοδο η Μονακό έκανε την ύστατη προσπάθεια και μείωσε τη διαφορά στους επτά (75-68) με 3’47” να απομένουν. Η απάντηση των γηπεδούχων όμως ήταν άμεση και με δύο συνεχόμενα τρίποντα του Μπιμπέροβιτς και επιμέρους 11-2 έφτασαν ξανά στο +16 (86-70) με ένα λεπτό στο ρολόι, κλειδώνοντας ουσιαστικά τη νίκη.
