Ντε Κολό: “Αν κατακτήσουμε τη EuroLeague, ίσως αποσυρθώ”

De Colo: “If we win the EuroLeague, I might retire”

Nando De Colo mentioned the possibility of retiring from action at the end of the season, when his contract with Fenerbahce expires, if the Turkish team manages to win the EuroLeague.

In his statements before Fenerbahce’s match with Red Star Belgrade (13/3) for the 31st round of the EuroLeague, Nando De Colo mentioned the possibility of retiring at the end of the current season.

The 38-year-old Frenchman, who moved from Villeurbanne to Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team last January, has a contract until the end of the season and is with his team in first place in the standings with seven rounds before the end of the regular season.

Regarding his future, the experienced point guard said: “I have a contract with Fenerbahce until the end of the season. Right now, the only thing that concerns me is the team achieving its two goals: winning the championship and continuing in the EuroLeague.

If we win the EuroLeague… yes, then maybe I’ll leave. There’s a right time for everything in life.

Right now, at least six or seven teams are competing for a spot in the Final Four. The playoffs will be a real hell.”

Nando De Colo has played for Valencia, CSKA Moscow, Fenerbahce and Villeurbanne and has 349 EuroLeague appearances, 187 of which he was in the starting five.

He is averaging 14.6 points (54.3% on two-pointers, 40.9% on three-pointers and 93.4% on shooting), 2.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 24’23” of participation.

At the same time, he is 2nd in overall rating (5785 PIR) and total career points in the competition (5104 points), behind only Mike James, fourth in total steals and second in accurate shots (1260).

He has won the EuroLeague in 2016 and 2019 with CSKA Moscow, while in 2016 he was both the MVP of the regular season and the Final Four.

Ο Νάντο Ντε Κολό αναφέρθηκε στο ενδεχόμενο να αποσυρθεί από τη δράση στο τέλος της σεζόν, όταν και λήγει το συμβόλαιο που έχει με τη Φενέρμπαχτσε, αν η τουρκική ομάδα καταφέρει να κατακτήσει τη EuroLeague.

Ο 38χρονος Γάλλος που μετακόμισε από τη Βιλερμπάν στην ομάδα του Σαρούνας Γιασικέβιτσιους τον περασμένο Ιανουάριο, έχει συμβόλαιο μέχρι το τέλος της περιόδου και βρίσκεται με την ομάδα του στην πρώτη θέση της κατάταξης επτά αγωνιστικές πριν το τέλος της regular season.

Σχετικά με το μέλλον του ο έμπειρος πόιντ γκαρντ δήλωσε: “Έχω συμβόλαιο με τη Φενέρμπαχτσε μέχρι το τέλος της σεζόν. Αυτήν τη στιγμή, το μόνο που με απασχολεί είναι η ομάδα να πετύχει τους δύο στόχους της: να κατακτήσει το πρωτάθλημα και να συνεχίσει στην Ευρωλίγκα.

Αν κερδίσουμε την Ευρωλίγκα… ναι, τότε ίσως φύγω. Υπάρχει η κατάλληλη στιγμή για τα πάντα στη ζωή.

Αυτή τη στιγμή, τουλάχιστον έξι ή επτά ομάδες ανταγωνίζονται για μια θέση στο Final Four. Τα πλέι-οφ θα είναι πραγματική κόλαση“.

Ο Νάντο Ντε Κολό έχει αγωνιστεί σε Βαλένθια, ΤΣΣΚΑ Μόσχας, Φενέρμπαχτσε και Βιλερμπάν και μετράει 349 αναμετρήσεις στη EuroLeague εκ των οποίων στις 187 ήταν στην αρχική πεντάδα.

Έχει κατά μέσο όρο 14.6 πόντους (54.3% στα δίποντα, 40.9% στα τρίποντα και 93.4% βολές), 2.6 ριμπάουντ, 3.7 ασίστ και 1.1 κλέψιμο σε 24’23” συμμετοχής.

Παράλληλα είναι 2ος σε συνολική αξιολόγηση (5785 PIR) και άθροισμα πόντων καριέρας στη διοργάνωση (5104 πόντοι), πίσω μόνο από τον Μάικ Τζέιμς, τέταρτος σε συνολικά κλεψίματα και δεύτερος σε εύστοχες βολές (1260).

Έχει κατακτήσει τη EuroLeague το 2016 και το 2019 με την ΤΣΣΚΑ Μόσχας, ενώ του 2016 ήταν τόσο MVP της κανονικής περιόδου, όσο και του Final Four.
