Valencia not only does not deflate, but continues its magical course this year and, bending even Zalgiris (91-87), is going full speed for home advantage in the playoffs!

Valencia entered the game more enthusiastically and with Sacco and Thompson it led 5-2 in the 90th minute, with the American ace having fun with a three-pointer, together with Prandilla, taking the Spanish team to +6 (10-4 in 3'). Montero with a new shot from the perimeter in the 5th minute made it 13-6, with Costello in the 6th minute with 2/3 shots to make it 15-6. Zalgiris started to find solutions from Brazdeikis for 17-11 in the 7th minute, with Moore (6pts) however responding with consecutive points and taking the difference to double digits for the first time (21-11) in the 8th minute. De Larea in the finale of quarter with 2/2 shots made it 25-13, with Valencia already having a significant difference.

The start of the second period was Goss' moment, with the American ace with two consecutive baskets reducing the lead to 25-17, with Law reducing the lead to 6 (25-19) and Valencia looking out of rhythm. Martinez's timeout woke up the home team, with Moore (10pts, 4/4 rps) getting to work again and bringing the lead back to 10 (31-21). Valencia found its rhythm again and with Reivers in the 16th minute they went to 13 for the first time (39-26), with Zalgiris answering with a basket and Wright and Law foul for 41-34 in the 17th minute. Tubelis reduced the lead to 45-39 in the 19th minute with a three-pointer, but the half ended with Valencia leading by 11 points (50-39), thanks to Badio's three-pointer.

The start of the third period did not have quality basketball, with Valencia however being the least bad and with Thompson (8pts) leading 54-43 in the 22nd minute. However, two consecutive three-pointers from Tubelis and Francisco and Wright's basket changed the momentum of the match, with Zalgiris reducing to 56-51 in the 24th minute. Law even brought the Lithuanians within shooting distance in the 25th minute (56-53), with Brazdeikis (8pts, 2/2 trp) with a three-pointer in the 26th minute to make it 58-56. Somewhere there, Valencia's offense began to provide solutions, with Reivers and Badio making it 65-60 in the 27th minute, with Puerto making it 67-60 in the 28th minute, giving the home team a breather. Montero made it 69-61 in the 29th minute, with the final straight finding the two teams at 71-64.

It's not overshadowed by any fear: It also defeated Zalgiris and Valencia goes for home-field advantage!

At the start of the fourth period, Prantija brought Valencia back to 9 (73-64), with Zalgiris immediately responding with a 4-0 run with Butkevicius to reduce it to 73-68 in the 32nd minute. Taylor made it 76-68 with a three-pointer, with Sacco dunking to bring the home team back to 10 (78-68) in the 33rd minute. Badio made another shot from the perimeter in the 34th minute to make it 81-70, with Prandija then making it 83-71. Sliva gave Zalgiris a breather with a three-pointer in the 35th minute to make it 83-74, with Brazdeikis (13pts, 3/3 trp) again from the perimeter reducing the lead to 85-79 in the 37th minute and the Lithuanians playing their last card in the match. Reivers followed up with a dunk in the 38th minute to make it 87-79, but Sliva made a three-pointer with 1:57 left to play to reduce the score to 87-84. Francisco tied the game at 56" with a very difficult shot from the perimeter (87-87), with Badio giving Valencia an 89-87 lead at 28". Francisco went for the complete turnaround at 15", but airballed a three-pointer, with Zalgiris delaying to foul and sending Montero to the line at 5", with the American ace with 2/2 sealing the home team's victory at 91-87.

Η Βαλένθια όχι μόνο δεν ξεφουσκώνει, αλλά συνεχίζει τη μαγική της πορεία φέτος και λυγίζοντας και τη Ζαλγκίρις (91-87) πάει ολοταχώς για πλεονέκτημα έδρας στα πλέι οφ!

Στην αρχή της σεζόν είχε φόρα, στη συνέχεια απέκτησε σταθερότητα και πλέον η ομάδα του Πέδρο Μαρτίνεθ έφτασε στο 20-10 στην κανονική διάρκεια της Euroleague και είναι έτοιμη να απλώσει τα χέρια για να αρπάξει το αβαντάζ της έδρας στα πλέι οφ της διοργάνωσης.

Από την άλλη η Ζαλγκίρις μετά τη νίκη με τον Ολυμπιακό έχασε σημαντικό έδαφος στην υπόθεση 6άδα (17-13) και πλέον θα περιμένει το φινάλε της 30ής αγωνιστικής -που θα έχει 2 ματς σε εκκρεμότητα- για να δει σε ποια θέση θα βρεθεί.

Πρώτος σκόρερ για τη Βαλένθια ήταν ο Ομάρι Μουρ με 16 πόντους (7/8 διπ.), με τον Νέιθαν Ρέιβερς να προσθέτει άλλους 12 (4/4 διπ., 1/1 τριπ. 1/1 βολή). Στους 11 ο Μπάνκου Μπαντιό και στους 10 ο Χάιμε Πραντίγια (5/7 διπ.).

Από την πλευρά της Ζαλγκίρις, πρωταγωνιστής ήταν ο Μόουζες Ράιτ με 20 πόντους (7/11 διπ., 9 ριμπ.), με τον Ντάστιν Σλίβα να προσθέτει άλλους 14 (3/5 τριπ.). Στους 13 ο Ίγκνας Μπραζντέικις (3/3 τριπ.).

Φορτσάτη η Βαλένθια και με το «καλημέρα» στο +12

Η Βαλένθια μπήκε πιο ορεξάτη στο παιχνίδι και με τους Σακό και Τόμπσον προηγήθηκε με 5-2 στα 90", με τον Αμερικανό άσο να έχει κέφια με τρίποντο, μαζί με τον Πραντίγια, να πηγαίνουν την ισπανική ομάδα στο +6 (10-4 στο 3'). Ο Μοντέρο με νέο σουτ από την περιφέρεια στο 5' έκανε το 13-6, με τον Κοστέλο στο 6' με 2/3 βολές να διαμορφώνει το 15-6. Η Ζαλγκίρις ξεκίνησε να βρίσκει λύσεις από τον Μπραζντέικις για το 17-11 στο 7', με τον Μουρ (6π.) όμως να απαντά με συνεχόμενους πόντους και να πηγαίνει τη διαφορά για πρώτη φορά σε διψήφια τιμή (21-11) στο 8'. Ο Ντε Λαρέα στο φινάλε του δεκαλέπτου με 2/2 βολές μάλιστα έκανε το 25-13, με τη Βαλένθια να έχει ήδη σημαντική διαφορά.

Προσπάθησε να γυρίσει η Ζαλγκίρις, είχαν απαντήσεις σε όλα οι γηπεδούχοι

Η εκκίνηση της δεύτερης περιόδου ήταν η στιγμή του Γκος, με τον Αμερικανό άσο με δύο σερί καλάθια να μειώνει σε 25-17, με τον Λο να ρίχνει τη διαφορά στους 6 (25-19) και τη Βαλένθια να δείχνει εκτός ρυθμού. Το τάιμ άουτ του Μαρτίνεθ αφύπνισε τους γηπεδούχους, με τον Μουρ (10π., 4/4 διπ.) να πιάνει και πάλι δουλειά και να επαναφέρει τη διαφορά στους 10 (31-21). Η Βαλένθια βρήκε και πάλι τον ρυθμό της και με τον Ρέιβερς στο 16' πήγε για πρώτη φορά στους 13 (39-26), με τη Ζαλγκίρις να απαντά με καλάθι και φάουλ του Ράιτ και τον Λο για το 41-34 στο 17'. Ο Τουμπέλις στο 19' με τρίποντο μείωσε σε 45-39, με το ημίχρονο όμως να ολοκληρώνεται με τη διαφορά στους 11 (50-39) για τη Βαλένθια, χάρη στο τρίποντο του Μπαντιό.

H έναρξη της τρίτης περιόδου δεν είχε μπάσκετ ποιότητας, με τη Βαλένθια όμως να είναι η λιγότερη κακή και με τον Τόμπσον (8π.) να προηγείται με 54-43 στο 22'. Δύο όμως σερί τρίποντα από τους Τουμπέλις και Φρανσίσκο και το καλάθι του Ράιτ άλλαξαν το μομέντουμ του ματς, με τη Ζαλγκίρις να μειώνει σε 56-51 στο 24'. Ο Λο μάλιστα έφερε τους Λιθουανούς στο 25' σε απόσταση βολής (56-53), με τον Μπραζντέικις (8π., 2/2 τριπ.) με τρίποντο στο 26' να γράφει το 58-56. Κάπου εκεί η επίθεση της Βαλένθια ξεκίνησε να δίνει λύσεις, με τους Ρέιβερς και Μπαντιό να διαμορφώνουν το 65-60 στο 27', με τον Πουέρτο στο 28' να κάνει το 67-60 και να δίνει ανάσες στους γηπεδούχους. Ο Μοντέρο στο 29' έκανε το 69-61, με την τελική ευθεία να βρίσκει τις δύο ομάδες στο 71-64.

Δεν τη σκιάζει φοβέρα καμιά: Λύγισε και τη Ζαλγκίρις και πάει για πλεονέκτημα έδρας η Βαλένθια!

Ο Πραντίγια στην εκκίνηση της τέταρτης περιόδου πήγε τη Βαλένθια και πάλι στους 9 (73-64), με τη Ζαλγκίρις να απαντά άμεσα με σερί 4-0 με τον Μπουτκεβίτσιους για να μειώσει σε 73-68 στο 32'. Ο Τέιλορ με τρίποντο έκανε το 76-68, με τον Σακό με κάρφωμα να πηγαίνει τους γηπεδούχους και πάλι στους 10 (78-68) στο 33'. Ο Μπαντιό στο 34' με ακόμα ένα σουτ από την περιφέρεια διαμόρφωσε το 81-70, με τον Πραντίγια να κάνει στη συνέχεια το 83-71. Ο Σλίβα έδωσε με τρίποντο ανάσα στη Ζαλγκίρις στο 35' για το 83-74, με τον Μπραζντέικις (13π., 3/3 τριπ.) και πάλι από την περιφέρεια να μειώνει σε 85-79 στο 37' και τους Λιθουανούς να παίζουν το τελευταίο τους χαρτί στην αναμέτρηση. Ο Ρέιβερς με φόλοου κάρφωμα στο 38' να γράφει το 87-79, με τον Σλίβα όμως στο 1:57 για τη λήξη με τρίποντο να μειώνει σε 87-84. Ο Φρανσίσκο μάλιστα στα 56" με πολύ δύσκολο σουτ από την περιφέρεια έφερε το παιχνίδι στα ίσα (87-87), με τον Μπαντιό στα 28" να δίνει προβάδισμα στη Βαλένθια με 89-87. Ο Φρανσίσκο πήγε για την πλήρη ανατροπή στα 15", αλλά έκανε airball σε τρίποντο, με τη Ζαλγκίρις να καθυστερεί να κάνει φάουλ και να στέλνει στην γραμμή τον Μοντέρο στα 5", με τον Αμερικανό άσο με 2/2 να σφραγίζει τη νίκη των γηπεδούχων με 91-87.
