Panathinaikos prevailed over Olympiacos 90-70 in the first match between them for the A1 Women's Basketball semifinals and needs only one victory in the next four, at most, games to reach the finals.

The first semifinal between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos was painted green with the green team prevailing 90-70 with a tremendous performance and taking one of the two steps needed to reach the A1 Women's Basketball finals.

Great performance from Jaylin Brown who had 24 points (4/6 two-pointers, 3/5 three-pointers, 7/7), 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 40 minutes of participation, without sitting down for a second.

Very important help was given to Erdem's team by both Krimili (17 points, 4/6 three-pointers, 5 assists), and Galanopoulos (17 points 4/5 two-pointers, 3/7 three-pointers, 9 assists).

Leading the way for the red and whites once again was Christinaki with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, with Johnson adding another 20.

With the 2-0 regular season lead in favor of the greens being carried over into the semi-final series, the clover now leads 3-0 and needs one win in the next four games at most to reach the finals.

The match

The red and whites started the game well and took a 0-4 lead, but the greens changed the tempo and ran a 10-0 run for 10-4, while reaching the score at 22-6 before the end of the first period, holding the red and whites without a basket beyond shots for over seven minutes.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the home team maintained their lead, but Drakaki's players, mainly with Christinaki, reduced it to six (38-32), but Brown with a buzzer beater sent her team to the locker room with +9.

Returning from the break, the green team increased the difference again and with a three-pointer by Galanopoulos from the corner they reached +15 (52-37). However, the guests had another answer and reduced it to six (57-51) with Christinaki reaching 19 points a minute before the end of the third quarter. In that minute, however, Selen Erdem's players ran a 7-0 run, closing the period with a 13-point lead (64-51).

In the last quarter, the green team opened up the gap even further, reaching 23 points (78-55).

From that point on, it was extremely difficult to change anything in the game, with Panathinaikos going 3-0 in the series and needing just one win in the next four, at most, games against Olympiacos.

Ο Παναθηναϊκός επικράτησε του Ολυμπιακού 90-70 στην πρώτη μεταξύ τους αναμέτρηση για τα ημιτελικά της Α1 Μπάσκετ Γυναικών και χρειάζεται μόλις μία νίκη στα επόμενα τέσσερα, το πολύ, παιχνίδια για να βρεθεί στους τελικούς.

Πράσινο βάφτηκε ο πρώτος ημιτελικός ανάμεσα σε Παναθηναϊκό και Ολυμπιακό με τις πράσινες να επικρατούν 90-70 με τρομερή εμφάνιση και να κάνουν το ένα από τα δύο βήματα που χρειάζονται για να βρεθούν στους τελικούς της Α1 Μπάσκετ Γυναικών.

Σπουδαία εμφάνιση από την Τζέιλιν Μπράουν που είχε 24 πόντους (4/6 δίποντα, 3/5 τρίποντα, 7/7), 6 ριμπάουντ και 6 ασίστ σε 40 λεπτά συμμετοχής, χωρίς να καθίσει δευτερόλεπτο.

Πολύ σημαντική βοήθεια έδωσαν στην ομάδα της Ερντέμ τόσο η Κριμίλη (17 πόντοι, 4/6 τρίποντα, 5 ασίστ), όσο και η Γαλανόπουλος (17 πόντοι 4/5 δίποντα, 3/7 τρίποντα, 9 ασίστ).

Κορυφαία για τις ερυθρόλευκες ακόμη μία φορά ήταν η Χριστινάκη με 21 πόντους, 7 ριμπάουντ και 5 ασίστ, με την Τζόνσον να προσθέτει άλλους 20.

Με το 2-0 της κανονικής περιόδου υπέρ των πρασίνων να μεταφέρεται στη σειρά των ημιτελικών, το τριφύλλι πλέον προηγείται με 3-0 και χρειάζεται μία νίκη σε τέσσερις, το πολύ, αναμετρήσεις που θα ακολουθήσουν για να βρεθεί στους τελικούς.

Ο αγώνας

Οι ερυθρόλευκες μπήκαν καλά στο παιχνίδι και προηγήθηκαν 0-4, όμως οι πράσινες άλλαξαν τέμπο και έτρεξαν σερί 10-0 για το 10-4, ενώ έφτασαν στο σκορ στο 22-6 πριν τη λήξη της πρώτης περιόδου κρατώντας τις ερυθρόλευκες χωρίς καλάθι πέρα από βολές για πάνω από επτά λεπτά.

Στην αρχή του δεύτερου δεκαλέπτου οι γηπεδούχες διατήρησαν το προβάδισμά τους, όμως οι παίκτριες τις Δρακάκη, κυρίως με τη Χριστινάκη μείωσαν στους έξι (38-32), όμως η Μπράουν με buzzer beater έστειλε την ομάδα της στα αποδυτήρια με το +9.

Επιστρέφοντας από την ανάπαυλα οι πράσινες ανέβασαν ξανά τη διαφορά και με τρίποντο της Γαλανόπουλος από τη γωνία έφτασαν στο +15 (52-37). Οι φιλοξενούμενες όμως είχαν ξανά απάντηση και μείωσαν στους έξι (57-51) με τη Χριστινάκη να φτάνει τους 19 πόντους ένα λεπτό πριν τη λήξη του τρίτου δεκαλέπτου. Στο λεπτό αυτό όμως,οι παίκτριες της Σελέν Ερντέμ έτρεξαν σερί 7-0 κλείνοντας την περίοδο με προβάδισμα 13 πόντων (64-51).

Στο τελευταίο δεκάλεπτο οι πράσινες άνοιξαν κι άλλο τη διαφορά φτάνοντας ακόμη και τους 23 πόντους (78-55).

Από εκείνο το σημείο ήταν εξαιρετικά δύσκολο να αλλάξει κάτι στο παιχνίδι, με τον Παναθηναϊκό να κάνει το 3-0 στη σειρά και να χρειάζεται μόλις μία νίκη στα επόμενα τέσσερα, το πολύ, παιχνίδια με τον Ολυμπιακό.
