Benzema: His transfer to Al Hilal is official!
Al Hilal completed the much-hyped deal and announced the acquisition of Karim Benzema from Al Ittihad, despite the... reactions of Cristiano Ronaldo!
In the previous hours, the agreement between Karim Benzema and Al Hilal for an 18-month collaboration was released and the related announcements did not take long to follow. Despite the objections of Cristiano Ronaldo, who accuses the PIF of unfair competition between the Saudi Arabian teams, the leader of the Saudi Pro League proceeded with the acquisition of the French forward and significantly strengthened the offensive line.
It was a transfer that went through... a thousand waves, as early as Monday morning (2/2) everything seemed to be moving towards the rocks! However, the parties involved moved in a common direction until the end, resulting in Benzema leaving Al Ittihad after 2.5 years to wear the blue of Al Hilal.
The transfer fee, however, remains unknown, while the announcement has not yet made the duration of the agreement official despite reports that it will be a 1.5-year contract. This season, the former Real Madrid forward has scored a total of 16 goals in 21 appearances for Al Ittihad, maintaining a close relationship with the opposing nets.
Shortly after the announcements, the Frenchman said his “goodbye” to Al Ittihad, thanking them for the years spent together: “Al Ittihad, this chapter is coming to an end, but respect and gratitude will remain forever. I thank the club, the staff, my teammates and especially the fans for the welcome, the love and the energy you gave me every day.
This journey has offered me a lot, both on a personal and professional level. I leave with my head held high, proud to have worn these colors and for everything we shared. I wish you all the best for the future. Respect,” he wrote characteristically on social media.

Η Αλ Χιλάλ ολοκλήρωσε την πολύκροτη συμφωνία και ανακοίνωσε την απόκτηση του Καρίμ Μπενζεμά από την Αλ Ιτιχάντ, παρά τις... αντιδράσεις του Κριστιάνο Ρονάλντο!
Τις προηγούμενες ώρες κυκλοφόρησε η συμφωνία ανάμεσα σε Καρίμ Μπενζεμά και Αλ Χιλάλ για συνεργασία 18 μηνών και οι σχετικές ανακοινώσεις δεν άργησαν να ακολουθήσουν. Παρά τις ενστάσεις του Κριστιάνο Ρονάλντο που κατηγορεί το PIF για αθέμιτο ανταγωνισμό μεταξύ των ομάδων της Σαουδικής Αραβίας, η πρωτοπόρος της Saudi Pro League προχώρησε στην απόκτηση του Γάλλου φορ κι ενισχύθηκε σημαντικά στη γραμμή κρούσης.
Ήταν μια μεταγραφή που πέρασε από... χίλια κύματα, καθώς νωρίς το πρωί της Δευτέρας (2/2) όλα έδειχναν πως κινούνταν προς τα βράχια! Παρόλα αυτά οι εμπλεκόμενες πλευρές πορεύθηκαν προς μια κοινή κατεύθυνση μέχρι τέλους, με αποτέλεσμα ο Μπενζεμά να αποχωρήσει από την Αλ Ιτιχάντ μετά από 2,5 χρόνια για να φορέσει τα μπλε της Αλ Χιλάλ.
Το ποσό της μεταγραφής πάντως παραμένει άγνωστο, ενώ στην ανακοίνωση δεν έχει επισημοποιηθεί ακόμα η διάρκεια της συμφωνίας παρά τα σχετικά ρεπορτάζ που έκαναν λόγο για συμβόλαιο 1,5 έτους. Τη φετινή σεζόν ο πρώην φορ της Ρεάλ έχει πετύχει συνολικά 16 γκολ σε 21 συμμετοχές με τη φανέλα της Αλ Ιτιχάντ, διατηρώντας μια στενή σχέση με τα αντίπαλα δίχτυα.
Λίγο μετά τις ανακοινώσεις ακολούθησε και το «αντίο» του Γάλλου προς την Αλ Ιτιχάντ, την οποία ευχαρίστησε για τα χρόνια που πέρασαν μαζί: «Αλ Ιτιχάντ, αυτό το κεφάλαιο φτάνει στο τέλος του, αλλά ο σεβασμός και η ευγνωμοσύνη θα παραμείνουν για πάντα. Ευχαριστώ τον σύλλογο, το επιτελείο, τους συμπαίκτες μου και ιδιαίτερα τους φιλάθλους για την υποδοχή, την αγάπη και την ενέργεια που μου δίνατε κάθε μέρα.
Αυτό το ταξίδι μου πρόσφερε πολλά, τόσο σε προσωπικό όσο και σε επαγγελματικό επίπεδο. Φεύγω με το κεφάλι ψηλά, περήφανος που φόρεσα αυτά τα χρώματα και για όλα όσα μοιραστήκαμε. Σας εύχομαι ό,τι καλύτερο για τη συνέχεια. Σεβασμός» έγραψε χαρακτηριστικά στα social media.
