The 2025 season for the "king" of pole vaulting was magical. He won two world titles in outdoor (Tokyo) and indoor (Nanjing), as well as the diamond in the Diamond League. In fact, he set four new world records, raising the bar from 6.26m. to 6.30m.

This was the fourth time the Swede has received this title and the third consecutive. The first time he was named the top athlete of the year was in 2021 and since 2023 he has been the top name in this category.

Ο Μόντο Ντουπλάντις παρέλαβε το βραβείο του κορυφαίου αθλητή της χρονιάς στα World Athletics Awards, που έλαβαν χώρα στο Μονακό. Ο Σουηδός ήταν το μεγάλο φαβορί, πράγμα το οποίο αποδείχθηκε και στην πράξη.

Η σεζόν 2025 για τον «βασιλιά» του άλματος επί κοντώ ήταν μαγική. Κατέκτησε δύο παγκόσμιους τίτλους σε ανοιχτό στίβο (Τόκιο) και κλειστό (Ναντζίνγκ), καθώς και το διαμάντι στο Diamond League. Μάλιστα, σημείωσε τέσσερα νέα παγκόσμια ρεκόρ, ανεβάζοντας τον πήχη από 6.26μ. στο 6.30μ.

Αυτή ήταν η τέταρτη φορά που παραλαμβάνει αυτόν τον τίτλο ο Σουηδός και η τρίτη διαδοχική. Η πρώτη φορά που αναδείχθηκε ως κορυφαίος της χρονιάς ήταν το 2021 και έπειτα από το 2023 φιγουράρει ως πρώτο όνομα στην εν λόγω κατηγορία.

Σημειώνεται πως το 2024 ήταν ανάμεσα στους τρεις νικητές, καθώς δεν έγινε η... κλασική διάκριση. Εκείνη τη χρονιά αναδείχθηκαν τρεις κορυφαίοι από τρεις κατηγορίες (δρόμους, άλματα/ρίψεις, και εκτός σταδίου).
