Έκανε «βουνό» την πρόκριση ο ΠΑΟΚ. Ο «δικέφαλος» έχασε 0-3 σετ από τη Μάριμπορ στη Σλοβενία στην πρώτη μεταξύ τους αναμέτρηση για τους «32» του CEV Cup βόλεϊ γυναικών και πλέον στη ρεβάνς της επόμενης εβδομάδας στο «παλατάκι» χρειάζεται νίκη με το ίδιο σκορ ή με 3-1 σετ , ώστε να οδηγήσει το ζευγάρι στο «χρυσό» σετ για να διεκδικήσει την πρόκριση στους «16» της δεύτερης τη τάξει ευρωπαϊκής διασυλλογικής διοργάνωσης.

Ο ΠΑΟΚ είχε τις ευκαιρίες του τόσο στο δεύτερο, αλλά κυρίως στο τρίτο σετ, για να μπει στο παιχνίδι και να διεκδικήσει ένα καλύτερο αποτέλεσμα.

«Κλειδί» του αγώνα η κυριαρχία των Σλοβένων πάνω στο φιλέ, καθώς τελείωσαν το ματς με 15 πόντους από μπλοκ έναντι μόλις 2 των «ασπρόμαυρων».
