According to the BasketNews report, Giannis Antetokounmpo came forward in order to de-escalate his relationship with Sengun.

The misunderstanding between Giannis Antetokounmpo and Alperen Sengun is a thing of the past, since with a joint post on Instagram the two clarified the situation, apologizing at the same time for all the mistakes they had made in the past.

The leaders of the Greek and Turkish national teams, despite both being in the best five of EuroBasket 2025, did not exchange handshaking at their awards ceremony and then the situation escalated.

Giannis, for his part, apologized for the comment he made on his LIVE about the Turkish flags, while Sengun spoke about a communication error and deleted the post he made after the semi-final with Greece.

But how did we get to this de-escalation? Donatas Urbanas' report for BasketNews states that after the threatening message Giannis' wife received from a Turkish fan, Antetokounmpo searched and found Sengun's phone and contacted him in order to resolve the misunderstanding.

The two spoke on the phone and then exchanged messages to arrive at their joint post on Tuesday night.

The Antetokounmpo and Sengun battles will of course remain on the field where they belong, with Giannis Antetokounmpo stepping forward to put an end to the beef.

Σύμφωνα με το ρεπορτάζ του BasketNews ο Γιάννης Αντετοκούνμπο βγήκε μπροστά προκειμένου να υπάρξει η αποκλιμάκωση στη σχέση του με τον Σενγκούν.

Η παρεξήγηση ανάμεσα στον Γιάννη Αντετοκούνμπο και τον Αλπερέν Σενγκούν ανήκει στο παρελθόν, αφού με ένα κοινό post στο Instagram οι δυο τους ξεκαθάρισαν την κατάσταση, απολογούμενοι ταυτόχρονα για όσα λάθη είχαν κάνει το προηγούμενο διάστημα.

Οι ηγέτες της Εθνικής Ελλάδας και της Τουρκίας, παρότι βρέθηκαν και οι δύο στην καλύτερη πεντάδα του EuroBasket 2025, δεν αντάλλαξαν χειραψία στην βράβευσή τους και στη συνέχεια η κατάσταση κλιμάκωθηκε.

Ο Γιάννης από την πλευρά του ζήτησε συγγνώμη για το σχόλιο που έκανε στο LIVE του για τις τουρκικές σημαίες, ενώ ο Σενγκούν μίλησε για επικοινωνιακό λάθος και έσβησε το post που έκανε μετά τον ημιτελικό με την Ελλάδα.

Πώς όμως φτάσαμε σε αυτήν την αποκλιμάκωση; Το ρεπορτάζ του Ντονάτας Ουρμπόνας για το BasketNews αναφέρει ότι μετά το απειλητικό μήνυμα που έλαβε η σύζυγος του Γιάννη από Τούρκο οπαδό, ο Αντετοκούνμπο έψαξε και βρήκε το τηλέφωνο του Σενγκούν και επικοινώνησε μαζί του προκειμένου να λυθεί η παρεξήγηση.

Οι δυο τους μίλησαν στο τηλέφωνο και στη συνέχεια αντάλλαξαν μηνύματα ώστε να φτάσουμε στο κοινό post τους το βράδυ της Τρίτης.

Οι μάχες Αντετοκούνμπο και Σενγκούν θα παραμείνουν φυσικά στον αγωνιστικό χώρο εκει όπου ανήκουν, με τον Γιάννη Αντετοκούνμπο να μπαίνει μπροστά προκειμένου να μπει τέλος στο beef.
