The transfer of the 32-year-old cost the club around 15 million euros and took place despite the strong objections of the "Aspirin" coach, Erik ten Hag, who had stated that he did not want to lose another important player from the roster, after the sales of Wirtz and Fribong to Liverpool. Η μεταγραφή του 32χρονου κόστισε στον σύλλογο περί τα 15 εκατ. ευρώ και πραγματοποιήθηκε παρά τις έντονες ενστάσεις του τεχνικού των «Ασπιρίνων», Έρικ Τεν Χάγκ, ο οποίος είχε δηλώσει πως δεν ήθελε να χάσει και άλλον σημαντικό παίκτη από το ρόστερ, μετά τις πωλήσεις των Βίρτς και Φρίμπονγκ στη Λίβερπουλ. Ωστόσο, η επιθυμία του παίκτη να επιστρέψει στο Νησί έπαιξε καταλυτικό ρόλο.
Σε μια διετία ως παίκτης της Λεβερκούζεν, ο Τσάκα αγωνίστηκε 99 φορές, έχοντας 6 γκολ και 9 ασίστ και φυσικά πανηγυρίζοντας τον τίτλο της Bundesliga τη σεζόν 2023-2204. Πλέον, γυρίζει ξανά σε... γνώριμα λημέρια, αφού υπήρξε ποδοσφαιριστής της Άρσεναλ για 7 συναπτά έτη.
