Ο πρώτος μάλιστα ολοκλήρωσε την προσπάθειά του στην 6η θέση με τη Racing Bulls, αφήνοντας πίσω του τον μέχρι πρότινος ομόσταβλό του στη Red Bull, Μαξ Φερστάπεν! Όσον αφορά τον Βραζιλιάνο πιλότο της Kick Sauber, τερμάτισε στην 8η θέση!
