Scotland: Last-minute addition of Hirst before Greece

Scotland will travel to Athens with Ipswich's George Hirst for the game against Greece.

Greece and Scotland are counting down to the double matches that will decide their promotion to League A of the Nations League (20/3-23/03) and Steve Clarke's team will still have one player at its disposal, despite announcing its mission a few days ago.

The reason is Ipswich striker George Hirst, who officially acquired Scottish citizenship at the last minute and immediately joined his national team. His father, who was also a professional footballer, played for the England national team, but Hirst chose Scotland and is preparing to take his first steps with it. With Ipswich this year he has 4 goals and 2 assists in 20 appearances.

Με τον Τζορτζ Χιρστ της Ίπσουιτς θα ταξιδέψει στην Αθήνα για το παιχνίδι κόντρα στην Ελλάδα η Σκωτία.

Ελλάδα και Σκωτία μετρούν αντίστροφα για τα διπλά ματς που θα κρίνουν την άνοδο στη League A του Nations League (20/3-23/03) και η ομάδα του Στιβ Κλαρκ θα έχει ακόμα έναν παίκτη στη διάθεσή της, παρ'ότι ανακοίνωσε την αποστολή της πριν λίγες ημέρες.

Ο λόγος για τον επιθετικό της Ίπσουιτς, Τζορτζ Χιρστ, που απέκτησε επίσημα τη σκωτσέζικη υπηκοότητα την τελευταία στιγμή και εντάχθηκε άμεσα στην εθνική του ομάδα. Ο πατέρας του, που ήταν επίσης επαγγελματίας ποδοσφαιριστής, αγωνίστηκε για την εθνική Αγγλίας, όμως ο Χιρστ επέλεξε τη Σκωτία και ετοιμάζεται να κάνει τα πρώτα του βήματα μαζί της. Με την Ίπσουιτς φέτος μετρά 4 γκολ και 2 ασίστ σε 20 εμφανίσεις.
