Kevin Pender wants to stay at Barcelona for years
Kevin Pender signed a one-year contract with Barcelona last year, but has expressed his desire to stay with the team for years.
While Mundo Deportivo reports that Kevin Pender's stay at Barcelona seems uncertain after the end of this season, the American guard himself is optimistic that he will continue to be a resident of Palau Blaugrana.
“Do you see yourself staying here for a few more years?” He was asked, among other things, in an extensive interview he gave for Barca TV.
“Definitely. I have thought about it and I have asked myself specific questions. But definitely, 100%”, he replied.
At another point, he said: “Until my 7th season in Europe, every summer I was constantly thinking about how to go to the NBA. I did not feel comfortable with it at all. Now I am in my 9th year and I have accepted that this is how it is. I have overcome it. I started from Lavrio in Greece and now I play for Barcelona. This shows the work I have done, how much I have worked year after year”.

Ο Κέβιν Πάντερ υπέγραψε πέρσι μονοετές συμβόλαιο με την Μπαρτσελόνα, όμως εξέφρασε την επιθυμία του να παραμείνει για χρόνια στην ομάδα.
Την ώρα που η Mundo Deportivo αναφέρει ότι η παραμονή του Κέβιν Πάντερ στην Μπαρτσελόνα μοιάζει αβέβαιη μετά το τέλος της φετινής αγωνιστικής περίοδου, ο ίδιος ο Αμερικανός γκαρντ δηλώνει αισιόδοξος ότι θα συνεχίσει να είναι κάτοικος Palau Blaugrana.
“Βλέπεις τον εαυτό σου να μένει εδώ για μερικά ακόμα χρόνια;” Τον ρώτησαν μεταξύ άλλων σε μια εκτενή συνέντευξη που έδωσε για το Barca TV.
“Σίγουρα. Το έχω σκεφτεί κι έχω κάνει συγκεκριμένες ερωτήσεις στον εαυτό μου. Όμως σίγουρα, 100%”, απάντησε εκείνος.
Σε άλλο σημείο ανέφερε: “Μέχρι την 7η σεζόν μου στην Ευρώπη, κάθε καλοκαίρι σκεφτόμουν συνεχώς πώς να πάω στο NBA. Δεν αισθανόμουν καθόλου άνετα με αυτό. Τώρα είμαι στην 9η χρονιά μου και το έχω αποδεχθεί ότι έτσι είναι η κατάσταση. Το έχω ξεπεράσει. Ξεκίνησα από το Λαύριο στην Ελλάδα και τώρα παίζω στην Μπαρτσελόνα. Αυτό δείχνει τη δουλειά που έχω κάνει, το πόσο έχω κοπιάσει χρονιά με τη χρονιά”.
