F1 - Esteban Ocon's new team announced
The 27-year-old Frenchman has signed a multi-year contract with Haas F1 and will be Oliver Berman's teammate from 2025.
One less vacancy in the cockpits of Formula 1 teams ahead of next season. Shortly before the start of the Belgian Grand Prix, Haas F1 announced that it has signed a multi-year cooperation contract with Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman will be a teammate of the talented British Oliver Berman.
"I am excited about this new chapter in my F1 career and the fact that I will be part of an ambitious team, whose spirit, ethos and undeniable upward trajectory have impressed me. Haas has big plans and clear goals for the future. At the moment I am completely focused on Alpine. We have 11 more races and I am more motivated than ever to finish my five-year partnership with the team on a positive note," said the 27-year-old French driver.

"The experience Ocon brings will be a great asset to the team. It was critical to have an experienced driver alongside Berman," said Haas F1 Team Principal Ayao Komatsu.
Ocon has been competing for the last five seasons with the French team (in 2020 it was called Renault), with whom he celebrated his first - and so far only - victory in Formula 1, at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2021. He will thus become the first Grand Prix winner Prix that he will drive on behalf of Haas.

Μία λιγότερη κενή θέση στα κόκπιτ των ομάδων της Formula 1 ενόψει της επόμενης σεζόν. Λίγο πριν την έναρξη του Grand Prix Βελγίου, η Haas F1 ανακοίνωσε ότι υπέγραψε πολυετές συμβόλαιο συνεργασίας με τον Εστεμπάν Οκόν. Ο Γάλλος θα αποτελέσει teammate του ταλαντούχου Βρετανού Όλιβερ Μπέρμαν.
«Είμαι ενθουσιασμένος για αυτό το νέο κεφάλαιο στην καριέρα μου στην F1 και το γεγονός ότι θα αποτελέσω μέρος μίας φιλόδοξης ομάδας, της οποίας το πνεύμα, το ήθος και η αδιαμφισβήτητη ανοδική τροχιά με έχουν εντυπωσιάσει. «Η εμπειρία που φέρνει ο Οκόν θα αποτελέσει μεγάλο πλεονέκτημα για την ομάδα. Ήταν κρίσιμο να έχουμε έναν έμπειρο οδηγό δίπλα στον Μπέρμαν», ανέφερε ο επικεφαλής της Haas F1 Team, Αγιάο Κομάτσου.
Ο Οκόν αγωνίζεται τις τελευταίες πέντε σεζόν με την γαλλική ομάδα (το 2020 ονομαζόταν Renault), με την οποία πανηγύρισε την πρώτη - και μοναδική έως τώρα - νίκη του στη Formula 1, στο Grand Prix Ουγγαρίας το 2021. Θα γίνει έτσι ο πρώτος νικητής Grand Prix που θα οδηγήσει για λογαριασμό της Haas.
