Panionios, transfers: Tsalbouris announced

Giorgos Tsalbouris is officially the new transfer acquisition of Panioni for the 2024-2025 season.

The "blue-and-red" announced in an announcement that they have reached an agreement with Giorgos Tsalbouris (28 years old, 2.17), who will wear the jersey of Panioni, strengthening the efforts of the "newbies" in this year's demanding championship of the Stoiximan Basket League.

The Greek international returns to our country after two seasons in which he played in Spain for Real Betis and Bilbao.

Last season with Bilbao, the Greek center averaged 3 points and 1.1 rebounds.

KAE PANIONIOS is pleased to announce the reaching of an agreement with the international athlete, George Tsalbouris.

The new acquisition of KAE PANIONIOS was born on June 22, 1996 in Veria and with a height of 2.17 meters he is one of the tallest Greek basketball players. He competes in positions "4" and "5".

He started his basketball career in Pierikos/Archelaos and reached the championship of the 2nd National Division in the period 2013-2014.

In the 2014-15 season, Tsalbouris played for the Iowa State Cyclones and was the seventh player to stand over 2.13 in university history.

He played in 8 games and averaged 1.4 points, 0.8 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.1 steals per game in 4.4 minutes per game.

In August 2015 he returned to Greece to play professionally and signed a five-year contract with AEK. In his first year (2015-2016) he played in one game but the next year (2016-2017) he had a stronger presence with 22 games in Basket League and BCL and a total of 3.2 points- 1 rebound in 7.5 minutes of participation.

In the 2017-2018 season, he started at AEK (2.3 points- 1 rebound in 6.3 minutes) but then in the form of a "loan" he found himself at Kolossos Rhodes. There he played 20 games and averaged 11.2 minutes with 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds.

He returned to AEK in the 2018-2019 season and even won the Intercontinental Cup. In 39 appearances in Basket League and BCL he had 2.9 points- 1.3 rebounds in about 9 minutes of participation.

In the 2019-2020 season he started again at AEK but after 3 games (3.3 points - 1 rebound in 3.3 minutes) he went again to Rhodes and Kolossos where in 11 games (interruption due to COVID) he had 6 .5 points- 2 rebounds and 38% on 3-pointers.

In the 2020-2021 season he played for PAOK where in 21 games and in 14.8 minutes of participation he had 5.7 points- 1.9 rebounds- 37% on three-pointers. His best year in the Basket League was "written" in the 2021-2022 season at Apollon Patras where he had 14.9 points (first Greek scorer) and even 5.6 rebounds - 1.1 assists in 32.6 minutes of presence.

That year he also set his career record in points and three-pointers (30 and 5 respectively against Ionikos Nikias on 30/1/2022) and rebounds (13 against AEK on 6/3/2022) as well as in assists (6 against PAOK on 4/12/2021) but also in cuts (3 against Larissa on 1/5/2022).

Then (2022-2023) he was in the Spanish league where with Betis he competed in both the ACB and the FIBA ​​Europe Cup. In total, in 34 games and 17.8 minutes of participation, he had 8.2 points- 3 rebounds and 36% on three-pointers.

Last season he played in Bilbao where in 29 games and 12.1 minutes in the ACB and the FIBA ​​EUROPE CUP he averaged 3.6 points- 1.7 rebounds.

He was a member of the "small" National teams of Greece.

He took part in the following events: 2012 U16 European Championship, 2014 U18 European Championship, 2015 U19 World Championship (4th place), 2015 U20 European Championship and 2016 U20 European Championship B Category, where he won a bronze medal.

In 2017, he became a member of the Men's National Team where he made 8 appearances.

Ο Γιώργος Τσαλμπούρης αποτελεί και επίσημα το νέο μεταγραφικό απόκτημα του Πανιωνίου για την σεζόν 2024-2025.

Οι «κυανέρυθροι» με ανακοίνωση τους έκαναν γνωστή την επίτευξη συμφωνίας με τον Γιώργο Τσαλμπούρη (28 ετών, 2.17), ο οποίος θα φορέσει την φανέλα του Πανιωνίου, ενισχύοντας τις προσπάθειες των «νεοφώτιστων» στο φετινό απαιτητικό πρωτάθλημα της Stoiximan Basket League.

Ο Έλληνας διεθνής επιστρέφει στην χώρα μας μετά από δυο σεζόν στις οποίες αγωνίστηκε στην Ισπανία για λογαριασμό της Ρεάλ Μπέτις και της Μπιλμπάο.

Την περασμένη σεζόν με την φανέλα της Μπιλμπάο ο Έλληνας σέντερ μέτρησε 3 πόντους και 1.1 ριμπάουντ κατά μέσο όρο.

Ο Τσαλμπούρης στον Πανιώνιο

Η ΚΑΕ ΠΑΝΙΩΝΙΟΣ βρίσκεται στην ευχάριστη θέση ν’ ανακοινώσει την επίτευξη συμφωνίας με τον διεθνή αθλητή, Γιώργο Τσαλμπούρη.

Το νέο απόκτημα της ΚΑΕ ΠΑΝΙΩΝΙΟΣ γεννήθηκε στις 22 Ιουνίου 1996 στην Βέροια και με ύψος 2,17 μέτρα είναι από τους ψηλότερους Έλληνες καλαθοσφαιριστές. Αγωνίζεται στις θέσεις «4» και «5».

Άρχισε τα μπασκετικά του βήματα στον Πιερικό/Αρχέλαο κι έφτασε στο πρωτάθλημα της Β’ Εθνικής Κατηγορίας την περίοδο 2013-2014.

Την περίοδο 2014-15, ο Τσαλμπούρης έπαιξε για τους Iowa State Cyclones και ήταν ο έβδομος παίκτης με ύψος πάνω από 2,13 στην ιστορία του πανεπιστημίου.

Έπαιξε σε 8 αγώνες και είχε μέσο όρο 1,4 πόντους, 0,8 ριμπάουντ, 0,3 ασίστ και 0,1 κλεψίματα ανά παιχνίδι, σε 4,4 λεπτά ανά παιχνίδι.

Τον Αύγουστο του 2015 επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα για να παίξει επαγγελματικά και υπέγραψε πενταετές συμβόλαιο με την ΑΕΚ. Την πρώτη του χρονιά (2015-2016) έπαιξε σε έναν αγώνα αλλά την επόμενη (2016-2017) είχε πιο δυνατή παρουσία με 22 αγώνες σε Basket League και BCL και συνολικά 3,2 πόντους- 1 ριμπάουντ σε 7,5 λεπτά συμμετοχής.

Την περίοδο 2017-2018 άρχισε στην ΑΕΚ (2,3 πόντοι- 1 ριμπάουντ σε 6,3 λεπτά) αλλά στη συνέχεια υπό τη μορφή «δανεισμού» βρέθηκε στον Κολοσσό Ρόδου. Εκεί είχε 20 συμμετοχές και 11,2 λεπτά κατά μέσο πόρο με 4,3 πόντους- 1,9 ριμπάουντ.

Επέστρεψε στην ΑΕΚ τη σεζόν 2018-2019 και κατέκτησε μάλιστα το Διηπειρωτικό Κύπελλο. Σε 39 παρουσίες σε Basket League και BCL είχε 2,9 πόντους- 1,3 ριμπάουντ σε περίπου 9 λεπτά συμμετοχής.

Τη σεζόν 2019-2020 άρχισε πάλι στην ΑΕΚ αλλά μετά από 3 αγώνες (3,3 πόντοι- 1 ριμπάουντ σε 3,3 λεπτά) πήρε και πάλι το δρόμο για την Ρόδο και τον Κολοσσό όπου σε 11 αγώνες (διακοπή λόγω COVID) είχε 6,5 πόντους- 2 ριμπάουντ και 38% στα τρίποντα.

Την περίοδο 2020-2021 αγωνίστηκε στον ΠΑΟΚ όπου σε 21 αγώνες και σε 14,8 λεπτά συμμετοχής είχε 5,7 πόντους- 1,9 ριμπάουντ- 37% στα τρίποντα. Η καλύτερη χρονιά του στην Basket League «γράφτηκε» την περίοδο 2021-2022 στον Απόλλωνα Πάτρας όπου είχε 14,9 πόντους (πρώτος Έλληνας σκόρερ) κι ακόμα 5,6 ριμπάουντ- 1,1 ασίστ σε 32,6 λεπτά παρουσίας.

Εκείνη τη χρονιά έκανε και το ρεκόρ καριέρας του σε πόντους κι εύστοχα τρίποντα (30 και 5 αντίστοιχα κόντρα στον Ιωνικό Νίκαιας στις 30/1/2022) και ριμπάουντ (13 κόντρα στην ΑΕΚ στις 6/3/2022) καθώς επίσης σε ασίστ (6 κόντρα στον ΠΑΟΚ στις 4/12/2021) αλλά και σε κοψίματα (3 κόντρα στην Λάρισα στις 1/5/2022).

Στη συνέχεια (2022-2023) βρέθηκε στο πρωτάθλημα Ισπανίας όπου με την Betis αγωνίστηκε τόσο στην ACB όσο και στο FIBA Europe Cup. Συνολικά σε 34 αγώνες και 17,8 λεπτά συμμετοχής είχε 8,2 πόντους- 3 ριμπάουντ και 36% στα τρίποντα.

Την τελευταία αγωνιστική περίοδο αγωνίστηκε στην Bilbao όπου σε 29 αγώνες και 12,1 λεπτά στην ACB και το FIBA EUROPE CUP είχε κατά μέσο όρο 3,6 πόντους- 1,7 ριμπάουντ.

Υπήρξε μέλος των «μικρών» Εθνικών ομάδων της Ελλάδας.

Έλαβε μέρος στις ακόλουθες διοργανώσεις: Στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα U16 του 2012, στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα U18 του 2014, στο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα U19 του 2015 (στην 4η θέση), στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα U20 του 2015 και στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα U20 Β Κατηγορία του 2016, όπου κέρδισε ένα χάλκινο μετάλλιο.

Το 2017 έγινε μέλος της Εθνικής Ανδρών όπου μετρά 8 συμμετοχές.
