Massimo Cancellieri is the new coach of PAOK

KAE PAOK announced its agreement with Massimo Cancellieri on Sunday evening (9/6).

KAE PAOK finally gave Massimo Cancellieri the helm for the 2024/25 season. The Italian coach worked for a number of years at Armani Milan, while the last three years he was in France on behalf of Limoges and Strasbourg.

"KAE PAOK mateco announces the agreement with the Italian coach Massimo Cancellieri, who takes over the technical leadership of our team for the 2024-25 season. He is an experienced coach, with performances at the top level, as well as for six consecutive years he was on the technical staff of Armani Milano, while in the last three years he worked in France, as a coach in Limoges and Strasbourg.

Massimo Cancellieri, born on July 24, 1972, completed eight days ago his collaboration with SIG Strasbourg and at the same time, his three-year presence in the French championship. He had started in the summer of 2021, when he began his collaboration with the historic team of Limoges, on whose bench he stayed for two seasons.

During the 2023-24 season, he worked with Strasbourg, with whom he participated in both the French league (with a record of 15 wins – 19 losses, finished in 12th place in the regular season), and the Basketball Champions League (first place in the regular period and in the 5th group with 4-2 wins, exclusion from the "8" of the competition, due to a triple tie with Tofas Bursa and Cholet).

Before deciding to work for the first time outside of Italy, Massimo Cancellieri was for two seasons the coach of the Ravena team (2019-21), while earlier and for six consecutive years he was on the technical staff of Armani Milano, as a direct partner of Luka Banchi ( 2013-15), Jasmin Repesa (2015-17) and Simone Pianigiani (2017-19). In the six years of his presence in Milan, he won with Armani three times the Italian championship (2014, 2016, 2018), won two Italian cups (2016, 2017), but also three consecutive Super Cups (2016, 2017, 2018).

He started his coaching career in 1994 from the infrastructure departments of San Raffaele, he also worked with Teramo Basket, Montekatini, Pallacanestro Biella, Veroli Basket, before working with Armani Milano".

Τη συμφωνία της με τον Μάσιμο Κανσελιέρι ανακοίνωσε το βράδυ της Κυριακής (9/6) η ΚΑΕ ΠΑΟΚ.

Στον Μάσιμο Κανσελιέρι έδωσε τελικά το τιμόνι η ΚΑΕ ΠΑΟΚ, για τη σεζόν 2024/25. Ο Ιταλός προπονητής εργάστηκε επί σειρά ετών στην Αρμάνι Μιλάνο, ενώ τα τελευταία τρία χρόνια βρισκόταν στη Γαλλία για λογαριασμό της Λιμόζ και της Στρασμπούρ.

Ο γεννημένος στις 24 Ιουλίου 1972 Massimo Cancellieri, ολοκλήρωσε πριν από οκτώ ημέρες την συνεργασία του με την SIG Strasbourg και ταυτόχρονα, την τριετή παρουσία του στο Γαλλικό πρωτάθλημα. Είχε κάνει την αρχή το καλοκαίρι του 2021, όταν και ξεκίνησε την συνεργασία του με την ιστορική ομάδα της Limoges, στον πάγκο της οποίας έμεινε για δύο σεζόν.

Στη διάρκεια της σεζόν 2023-24, συνεργάστηκε με την Strasbourg, με την οποία συμμετείχε τόσο στο Γαλλικό πρωτάθλημα (με ρεκόρ 15 νίκες – 19 ήττες, τερμάτισε στην 12η θέση της κανονικής περιόδου), όσο και στο Basketball Champions League (πρώτη θέση στην κανονική περίοδο και στον 5ο όμιλο με 4-2 νίκες, αποκλεισμός από τους “8” της διοργάνωσης, λόγω τριπλής ισοβαθμίας με Tofas Bursa και Cholet).

Πριν αποφασίσει να εργαστεί για πρώτη φορά εκτός Ιταλίας, ο Massimo Cancellieri ήταν για δύο σεζόν προπονητής στην ομάδα της Ravena (2019-21), ενώ νωρίτερα και για έξι συνεχόμενα χρόνια ήταν στο τεχνικό επιτελείο της Armani Milano, ως άμεσος συνεργάτης των Luka Banchi (2013-15), Jasmin Repesa (2015-17) και Simone Pianigiani (2017-19). Ξεκίνησε την προπονητική του καριέρα το 1994 από τα τμήματα υποδομής της San Raffaele, συνεργάστηκε επίσης με τις Teramo Basket, Montekatini, Pallacanestro Biella, Veroli Basket, προτού συνεργαστεί με την Armani Milano".
