Σάλος με το δημοσίευμα της «Sun» που τονίζει πως Μάντσεστερ Σίτι και Τσέλσι έχουν ειδοποιηθεί πως κινδυνεύουν άμεσα με υποβιβασμό. Τόσο οι «Πολίτες» όσο και οι Λονδρέζοι ξέρουν πως αν κριθούν ένοχοι για παραβίαση των κανόνων του Financial Fair Play θα βρεθούν εκτός Premier League.

Η Σίτι αντιμετωπίζει έρευνα για τις υποτιθέμενες115 οικονομικές παραβιάσεις για τις οποίες κατηγορήθηκε τον Φεβρουάριο του 2023. Μάλιστα, τα βρετανικά ΜΜΕ προειδοποιούν ότι η Ανεξάρτητη Ρυθμιστική Επιτροπή θα αρχίσει να εξετάζει και να αναλύει την υπόθεση στα τέλη του φθινοπώρου. Το μέγεθος των καταγγελιών εναντίον της Σίτι και της Τσέλσι υποδηλώνει ότι και οι δύο υποθέσεις θα ενταχθούν στην κατηγορία των «σοβαρών κυρώσεων», εάν τελικά αποδειχθούν.

Η Μάντσεστερ αρνείται κατηγορηματικά τις 115 κατηγορίες. Αν και η υπόθεση θα μπορούσε να ξεκινήσει τον Οκτώβριο ή τον Νοέμβριο, η τελική απόφαση δεν αναμένεται πριν τον Μάρτιο του 2025. Όσον αφορά την Τσέλσι, η UEFA επέβαλε πρόστιμο 8,6 εκατομμυρίων λιρών, αλλά η Premier δεν έχει ακόμη καταθέσει επίσημες κατηγορίες.

Θυμίζουμε, πως η Νότιγχαμ τιμωρήθηκε πριν μερικές ημέρες με αφαίρεση τεσσάρων βαθμών, αν και δεν αποκλείεται η Φόρεστ να κάνει έφεση κατά της απόφασης.
