Athletics: Gresier sets a new European record in the 10km road race
The Frenchman Jimmy Gresier set a new European record in the 10km road race.
A new European record was recorded by the French champion of the distances, Jimmy Gresier, in the 10 km road.
More specifically, the 26-year-old runner ran the 10-meter in the city of Lille and finished in 27:07 to break the Swiss Julien Wanders' record, which was 27:13 from 2020. Gresier had come very close to breaking that record and last year and today, 17/3, he succeeded.

The Frenchman is now the owner of two European records after he also maintains the top performance of all times in Europe and in the 5km road. Gresier has also ensured his participation in the upcoming Olympic Games that will be held in his country as he has already reached the limit for the 5,000m while he is also within the qualification for the 10,000m.

Ο Γάλλος Τζίμι Γκρεσιέ έκανε νέο ευρωπαϊκό ρεκόρ στα 10χλμ δρόμου.
Νέο ευρωπαϊκό ρεκόρ κατέγραψε ο Γάλλος πρωταθλητής των αποστάσεων, Τζίμι Γκρεσιέ, στα 10χλμ δρόμου.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, ο 26χρονος δρομέας έτρεξε το 10άρι στην πόλη Λιλ και τερμάτισε σε 27:07 για να καταρρίψει το ρεκόρ του Ελβετού Ζουλιέν Βάντερς, το οποίο ήταν 27:13 από το 2020. Ο Γκρεσιέ είχε φτάσει πολύ κοντά στην κατάρριψη του συγκεκριμένου ρεκόρ και την περασμένη χρονιά και σήμερα, 17/3, τα κατάφερε.

Ο Γάλλος είναι πλέον κάτοχος δύο ευρωπαϊκών ρεκόρ αφού διατηρεί και την κορυφαία επίδοση όλων των εποχών στην Ευρώπη και στα 5χλμ δρόμου. O Γκρεσιέ έχει εξασφαλίσει και τη συμμετοχή του στους ερχόμενους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες που θα διεξαχθούν στη χώρα του καθώς έχει ήδη πιάσει το όριο για τα 5.000μ ενώ βρίσκεται εντός πρόκρισης και στα 10.000μ.
