Panionios was reinforced with Donovan Marshall

American forward Donovan Marshall was acquired by Panionios.

Panionios made another important move ahead of the new season in the Elite League, as it acquired Donovan Marshall. The 31-year-old forward (2.01m) stood out with Amydas, averaging 18 points and 17.8 rating last season. The Nea Smyrni team has already acquired Gikas, Kaklamanakis and Milendijevic.

PANIONIO G.S.S. announces the reaching of an agreement with athlete Donovan Marshall-Johnson for the 2023-2024 season.

Donovan Marshall-Johnson was born on May 25, 1992 and is 2.01 meters tall. During the 2022-2023 season, he played for Amydas in the Elite League Erricos Dunan and was the top scorer (18 points on average) and first in the evaluation of his team (17.8 points).

During his high school years he received several honors as a member of Shelby County where he averaged 16.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He then found himself in the NJCAA with Wabash Valley where he was outstanding for two years even leading his team to a 27-5 record.

In the 2012-2013 season he switched to the NCAA and the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers where he was even better. He had 9.1 points-5.2 rebounds on 51.3% shooting and 46.4% on 3-pointers (best on his team) in about 22 minutes of action.

In his second year he had 10 points and 6.7 rebounds (first on his team) on 57% shooting.

After the College he played in Argentina (Petrolero, Ameghino but it is wrongly stated that he has obtained citizenship), in Chile (Puente Alto, Ancud, ) and in Paraguay (Olimpia Kings) while he arrived in Europe for the first time in the season 2020-2021 and specifically in England where he played with the Manchester Giants. He averaged 11 points, 6.1 rebounds on 46% shooting and 41% on 3-pointers.

During the 2021-2022 season he was an executive of Bordeaux in the French championship while last year he started the year in England and specifically in Newcastle where he averaged 7.2 points- 4.6 rebounds before agreeing with Amydas.

After reaching an agreement with PANIONIO, Donovan Marshall-Johnson made the following statement:

Μια ακόμη σημαντική κίνηση έκανε ο Πανιώνιος εν όψει της νέας σεζόν στην Elite League, καθώς απέκτησε τον Ντόνοβαν Μάρσαλ. Ο 31χρονος φόργουορντ (2,01μ.) ξεχώρισε με τον Αμύντα έχοντας 18 πόντους και 17,8 στην αξιολόγηση κατά μέσο όρο την περασμένη σεζόν. Ο ΠΑΝΙΩΝΙΟΣ Γ.Σ.Σ. ανακοινώνει την επίτευξη συμφωνίας με τον αθλητή Donovan Marshall-Johnson για την αγωνιστική περίοδο 2023-2024.

Ο Donovan Marshall-Johnson γεννήθηκε στις 25 Μαϊου 1992 κι έχει ύψος 2,01 μέτρα. Κατά την αγωνιστική περίοδο 2022-2023 αγωνίστηκε στον Αμύντα στην Elite League Ερρίκος Ντυνάν και ήταν πρώτος σκόρερ (18 πόντοι κατά μέσο όρο) και πρώτος στην αξιολόγηση στην ομάδα του (17,8 βαθμοί).

Κατά τα σχολικά του χρόνια έλαβε αρκετές τιμητικές διακρίσεις ως μέλος του Shelby County όπου είχε κατά μέσο όρο 16,3 πόντους και 9,7 ριμπάουντ ανά αγώνα. Στη συνέχεια βρέθηκε στο NJCAA με το Wabash Valley όπου ήταν εξαιρετικός για δύο χρόνια οδηγώντας μάλιστα την ομάδα του σε ρεκόρ 27-5.

Την περίοδο 2012-2013 μεταπήδησε στο NCAA και στους Πάνθηρες του Kentucky Wesleyan College όπου ήταν ακόμα καλύτερος. Είχε 9,1 πόντους- 5,2 ριμπάουντ με 51,3% στα σουτ και 46,4% στα τρίποντα (καλύτερος στην ομάδα του) σε περίπου 22 λεπτά συμμετοχής.

Τη δεύτερη χρονιά του είχε 10 πόντους και 6,7 ριμπάουντ (πρώτος στην ομάδα του) με 57% στα σουτ.

Μετά το Κολλέγιο αγωνίστηκε στην Αργεντινή (Petrolero, Ameghino αλλά κακώς αναφέρεται ότι έχει πάρει την υπηκοότητα), στην Χιλή (Puente Alto, Ancud, ) και στην Παραγουάη (Olimpia Kings) ενώ στην Ευρώπη έφτασε για πρώτη φορά την περίοδο 2020-2021 και συγκεκριμένα στην Αγγλία όπου αγωνίστηκε με τους Manchester Giants. Είχε κατά μέσο όρο 11 πόντους- 6,1 ριμπάουντ με 46% στα σουτ και 41% στα τρίποντα.

Κατά τη σεζόν 2021-2022 ήταν στέλεχος της Bordeaux στο πρωτάθλημα Γαλλίας ενώ πέρυσι άρχισε τη χρονιά στην Αγγλία και συγκεκριμένα στη Newcastle όπου είχε κατά μέσο όρο 7,2 πόντους- 4,6 ριμπάουντ πριν συμφωνήσει με τον Αμύντα.

Μετά την επίτευξη συμφωνίας με τον ΠΑΝΙΩΝΙΟ, ο Donovan Marshall-Johnson έκανε την εξής δήλωση:

«Είμαι ευγνώμων για την ευκαιρία που μου δίνει ο ΠΑΝΙΩΝΙΟΣ κι ανυπομονώ να αρχίσουμε δουλειά για τη νέα αγωνιστική περίοδο. Και θα δώσω ό,τι έχω μέσα μου ώστε να βοηθήσω την ομάδα να κατακτά νίκες».
