Finally, after holding his serve, he won the second set with 6-4.

In the third set he once again reached a triple break point at 1-1, but this time Shiner erased them and kept the lead (2-1). Both men held their serve until Sinner's 5-4, with the Italian reaching double set point on Djokovic's serve, from an effortless error by the Serb. On the second chance the Italian made a mistake on the diagonal and instead of ending the set, he gave Nole the chance to regroup (5-5). The set eventually went to a tie break, with Nole winning 7-4.

Αφού επιβίωσε από break point του Σίνερ αμέσως μετά έφτασε ο ίδιος σε διπλό break point, που επίσης δεν εκμεταλλεύτηκε. Τελικά αφού κράτησε το σερβίς του, με 6-4 κατέκτησε και το δεύτερο σετ.

Στο τρίτο σετ για άλλη μία φορά έφτασε σε τριπλό break point στο 1-1, όμως αυτή τη φορά ο Σίνερ τα έσβησε και κράτησε το προβάδισμα (2-1). Αμφότεροι κράτησαν το σερβίς τους ως το 5-4 του Σίνερ, με τον Ιταλό να φτάνει σε διπλό set point στο σερβίς του Τζόκοβιτς, από αβίαστο λάθος του Σέρβου. Στην δεύτερη ευκαιρία ο Ιταλός έκανε ένα λάθος στη διαγώνιο κι αντί να τελειώσει το σετ, έδωσε την ευκαιρία στον Νόλε να ανασυνταχθεί (5-5). Το σετ οδηγήθηκε στο tie break τελικά, με τον Νόλε να το κατακτά με 7-4.
