Carlos Alcaraz ended Djokovic's... crazy unbeaten streak at Wimbledon by winning the final 3-2 sets (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4) to capture his second grand slam title his career.

In an epic final that lasted four hours and 42 minutes, he won in 3-2 sets (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4) and won the second grand slam of his career, thus depriving the Serb of 24th!

In a game with plenty of ups and downs for both, Carlitos proved more... resilient and denied Djokovic the chance to overtake Federer's record in London titles (8) and Margaret Court who remains single with 24 men's and women's titles in total.

For Djokovic, it ended a five-year unbeaten run at Wimbledon (since 2018 he has forgotten what defeat is) and …. 10 years and nine days in the main stadium of London! Last time on this ground he lost in 2013 to Andy Murray who was in the stands to see the great final.

Alcaraz finished the match with 66 winners, 9 aces, 45 unforced errors and 167 total points against 32 winners, 40 unforced errors, 2 aces and 166 total points. The Spaniard will thus remain at No. 1 in the world ranking.

Alcaraz lost, walk for Djokovic in the first set

With the "good morning" Alkarath found a break point from an easy mistake by Nole, but the Serb made a great first serve and later in the game made it 1-0.

In fact, immediately after he broke after 0-40, he managed to win in the third attempt a mistake by his opponent. At 3-0, Djokovic found two more break points from Alcaraz's errors, which the Spaniard erased, but he also gave a third chance to Nole, who reached 4-0 and his serve at 5-0!

Alcaraz managed to avoid the bagel with enough effort, in fact, to close immediately after the first set by Djokovic in 34 minutes...

In the tie break, Alcaraz entered the match again

Carlitos started the second set completely upside down. He held his serve and broke after two unforced errors by Djokovic, but the Serb was undeterred, getting the break back from a missed forehand on the 20-year-old's cross.

Although Alcaraz found a break point again, Nole found solutions and leveled at 2-2, with the Spaniard pushing hard enough to make it 3-2. The two opponents started to run and got some nice points, holding their serve in the next two games (4-3 Alcaraz).

A poor return from the Spaniard made it 4-4, but holding his serve, he sent Nole serving to stay in the set. With a lot of luck, the Serb stayed in the set, equalizing (and) with the help of the net, but he went to serve again to stay in the set and take it to the tie break. He managed to do it easily, to even take a 3-0 lead there! However, Alxaraz served well and saw his opponent make another effortless drop shot error to tie the game at 3-3.

With a similar hit, Alcaraz went ahead 5-4, but Djokovic reached set point (6-5) with a backhand. He threw away the opportunity with his own miss and Alcaraz reached set point at 7-6 and won it right after with an unthinkable return winner in the straight.

Alcaraz won a game of 26 minutes and reached 2-1!

Alcaraz, buoyed by confidence, broke Djokovic's serve early in the third set and went 2-0 up thanks to some poor returns from the Serb, but he was then reduced to 2-1.

Nole reached a double break point from back-to-back errors from the 20-year-old Spaniard, but soon after he made back-to-back errors and bad returns to give Alcarath a 3-1 lead. In a marathon fifth game with 13 ties and 7 break points, Alcaraz broke and took a 4-1 lead. This game lasted 26 minutes, the longest in the history of the finals of a grand slam!

5-1 became much more... just for Carlitos, who finally reached the victory of the set and one away from the title with another break.

Djokovic found opportunities, made the break and equalized 2-2!

At the start of the fourth set, Alcaraz held his serve and reached a double break point, but was unable to capitalize on it. Both went to "full" games at the beginning of the set, with Nole at 2-2 reaching three break points and gaining an advantage.

An advantage he held, reaching a 5-3 advantage, with Alcaraz serving to stay in the set. But Djokovic doesn't he left room for him, broke his serve and went to serve first in the 5th and decisive set!

However, Alcaraz fought back and reached a break point immediately which the Serb fended off. Nole with a 1-0 lead, reached a break point and threw away an unthinkable opportunity to take a serious lead for the title. Alcaraz made some terrific saves, but were out of position and a simple forehand was converted by the Serb into an effortless error, to eventually concede the equalizer (1-1). The Spaniard, in turn, reached a break point from a mistake by the Serb and did not let it go to waste, after finding a passage in the straight line while Nole was going up to the net.

Both then held their serve, with Alcaraz reaching 4-2 with an ace. With the service as a weapon, Joker stayed in touch with the score (4-3). Nothing changed in the next two games, with Alcaraz serving at 5-4 for the title, which he managed after 4 hours and 42 minutes of play.

Ο Κάρλος Αλκαράθ σταμάτησε το... τρελό αήττητο του Τζόκοβιτς στο Wimbledon κερδίζοντας τον τελικό με 3-2 σετ (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4) κατακτώντας τον δεύτερο grand slam τίτλο της καριέρας του.

Σε έναν τελικό -έπος που κράτησε τέσσερις ώρες και 42 λεπτά, κέρδισε με 3-2 σετ (1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4) και κατέκτησε το δεύτερο grand slam της καριέρας του, στερώντας έτσι το 24ο από τον Σέρβο!

Σε ένα παιχνίδι με πολλά πάνω και κάτω και για τους δύο, ο Καρλίτος αποδείχθηκε πιο… ανθεκτικός και στέρησε την ευκαιρία από τον Τζόκοβιτς να φτάσει τον Φέντερερ στην κορυφή των κατακτήσεων τίτλων στο Λονδίνο (8), αλλά και την Μάργκαρετ Κορτ που παραμένει μόνη πρώτη με 24 τίτλους σε άνδρες και γυναίκες συνολικά.

Για τον Τζόκοβιτς, σταμάτησε ένα αήττητο πέντε χρόνων στο Wimbledon (από το 2018 έχει ξεχάσει τι πάει να πει ήττα) και …. 10 χρόνων και εννέα ημερών στο κεντρικό γήπεδο του Λονδίνου! Τελευταία φορά σε αυτό το γήπεδο είχε χάσει το 2013 από τον Αντι Μάρεϊ ο οποίος βρισκόταν στις κερκίδες για να δει τον σπουδαίο τελικό.

Ο Αλκαράθ τελείωσε το ματς με 66 winners, 9 άσους, 45 αβίαστα λάθη και 167 πόντους συνολικά έναντι 32 winners, 40 αβίαστων λαθών, 2 άσων και 166 πόντων συνολικά. Ο Ισπανός θα παραμείνει έτσι στο Νο1 της παγκόσμιας κατάταξης.

Χαμένος ο Αλκαράθ, περίπατος για Τζόκοβιτς στο πρώτο σετ

Με το «καλημέρα» ο Αλκαράθ βρήκε break point από ένα εύκολο λάθος του Νόλε, αλλά ο Σέρβος έβγαλε μεγάλο πρώτο σερβίς και στη συνέχεια του game έκανε το 1-0.

Μάλιστα, αμέσως μετά έκανε break αφού στο 0-40, κατάφερε να κερδίσει στην τρίτη προσπάθεια ένα λάθος του αντιπάλου του. Στο 3-0 ο Τζόκοβιτς βρήκε άλλα δύο break point από λάθη του Αλκαράθ, τα οποία έσβησε ο Ισπανός, αλλά έδωσε και τρίτη ευκαιρία στον Νόλε, που έφτασε στο 4-0 και στο σερβίς του στο 5-0!

Ο Αλκαράθ κατάφερε να γλιτώσει το bagel με αρκετό κόπο μάλιστα, για να κλείσει αμέσως μετά το πρώτο σετ ο Τζόκοβιτς σε 34 λεπτά…

Στο tie break ο Αλκαράθ μπήκε ξανά στο ματς

Ο Καρλίτος ξεκίνησε εντελώς ανάποδα το δεύτερο σετ. Κράτησε το σερβίς του και έκανε break μετά από δύο αβίαστα λάθη του Τζόκοβιτς, όμως ο Σέρβος ατάραχος, πήρε πίσω το break από χαμένο φόρχαντ στη διαγώνιο του 20χρονου.

Αν και ο Αλκαράθ βρήκε εκ νέου break point, o Νόλε βρήκε λύσεις και ισοφάρισε σε 2-2, με τον Ισπανό να ζορίζεται αρκετά για να κάνει το 3-2. Οι δύο αντίπαλοι άρχισαν να τρέχουν και έβγαλαν ορισμένους ωραίους πόντους, κρατώντας το σερβίς τους στα επόμενα δύο games (4-3 ο Αλκαράθ).

Μία κακή επιστροφή του Ισπανού έφερε το 4-4, αλλά κρατώντας το σερβίς του, έστειλε τον Νόλε να σερβίρει για να μείνει στο σετ. Με μεγάλη δόση τύχης ο Σέρβος έμεινε στο σετ, ισοφαρίζοντας (και) με την βοήθεια του φιλέ, ωστόσο πήγε ξανά να σερβίρει για να μείνει στο σετ και να το οδηγήσει στο tie break. Το κατάφερε και εύκολα, για να πάρει μάλιστα εκεί και προβάδισμα με 3-0! Ωστόσο, ο Αλκαράθ σέρβιρε καλά και είδε τον αντίπαλό του να κάνει κι ένα αβίαστο λάθος με drop shot, για να ισοφαρίσει 3-3.

Με παρόμοιο χτύπημα πέρασε μπροστά με 5-4 ο Αλκαράθ, αλλά ο Τζόκοβιτς έφτασε σε set point (6-5) με ένα μπάκχαντ. Πέταξε την ευκαιρία με δικό του άστοχο χτύπημα και ο Αλκαράθ έφτασε αυτός σε set point στο 7-6 και το κατέκτησε αμέσως μετά με μία ασύλληπτη επιστροφή winner στην ευθεία.

Ο Αλκαράθ κέρδισε game 26 λεπτών και έφτασε στο 2-1!

Ο Αλκαράθ με ανεβασμένη αυτοπεποίθηση, έσπασε το σερβίς του Τζόκοβιτς με το ξεκίνημα του τρίτου σετ και έφτασε στο 2-0 χάρη στις κακές επιστροφές του Σέρβου, που ωστόσο μείωσε στη συνέχεια σε 2-1.

Ο Νόλε έφτασε σε διπλό break point από συνεχόμενα λάθη του 20χρονου Ισπανού, αλλά αμέσως μετά έκανε αυτός συνεχόμενα λάθη και κακές επιστροφές, για να πάρει προβάδισμα 3-1 ο Αλκαράθ. Σε ένα μαραθώνιο πέμπτο game με 13 ισοπαλίες και 7 break point, ο Αλκαράθ έκανε το break και προηγήθηκε 4-1. Κράτησε 26 λεπτά αυτό το game, το μακροβιότερο στην ιστορία των τελικών ενός grand slam!

Το 5-1 έγινε πολύ πιο… απλά για τον Καρλίτος, ο οποίος τελικά έφτασε στην κατάκτηση του σετ και ένα μακριά από τον τίτλο με ένα ακόμη break.

Ο Τζόκοβιτς βρήκε ευκαιρίες, έκανε το break και ισοφάρισε 2-2!

Με την έναρξη του τέταρτου σετ, ο Αλκαράθ κράτησε το σερβίς του και έφτασε σε διπλό break point, όμως δεν κατάφερε να το αξιοποιήσει. Αμφότεροι πήγαν σε «γεμάτα» games στην αρχή του σετ, με τον Νόλε στο 2-2 να φτάνει σε τρία break point και να αποκτά πλεονέκτημα.

Ενα πλεονέκτημα που κράτησε, φτάνοντας στο υπέρ του 5-3, με τον Αλκαράθ να σερβίρει για να μείνει στο σετ. Ομως ο Τζόκοβιτς δεν του άφησε περιθώρια, έσπασε το σερβίς του και πήγε να σερβίρει και πρώτος στο 5ο και καθοριστικό σετ!

Ο Αλκαράθ εκθρόνισε τον Νόλε!

Ωστόσο, ο Αλκαράθ αντέδρασε και έφτασε σε break point αμέσως το οποίο έσβησε ο Σέρβος. Ο Νόλε με 1-0 προβάδισμα, έφτασε σε break point και πέταξε μία ασύλληπτη ευκαιρία να πάρει σοβαρό προβάδισμα για τον τίτλο. Ο Αλκαράθ έβγαλε τρομερές άμυνες, αλλά ήταν εκτός θέσης και ένα απλό φόρχαντ ο Σέρβος το μετέτρεψε σε αβίαστο λάθος, για να δεχτεί τελικά την ισοφάριση (1-1). Ο Ισπανός με την σειρά του έφτασε σε break point από λάθος του Σέρβου και δεν το άφησε να πάει χαμένο, αφού βρήκε πέρασμα στην ευθεία ενώ ο Νόλε ανέβαινε στο φιλέ.

Αμφότεροι κράτησαν στη συνέχεια το σερβίς τους, με τον Αλκαράθ να φτάνει στο 4-2 με άσο. Με όπλο το σερβίς ο Τζόκερ έμεινε σε επαφή στο σκορ (4-3). Δεν άλλαξε κάτι στα επόμενα δύο game, με τον Αλκαράθ να σερβίρει στο 5-4 για τον τίτλο, κάτι που κατάφερε μετά από 4 ώρες και 42 λεπτά αγώνα.
