Czech Republic - Greece 79-76: The battle was fought, the eight lost

The Women's National Team did not succeed against the Czech Republic. They lost 79-76 and lost their chance to advance to the quarterfinals of EuroBasket 2023.

Circumstances were favorable. Greece put up a great fight against the Czech Republic, but in the end they bowed out (79-76) and lost the chance to fight Hungary in the quarterfinals of the Women's EuroBasket.

Mariella Fasoula (26 points, 13 rebounds in 40 minutes) and Artemis Spanou (22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) were sensational, Eleanna Christinaki followed them, Penelope Pavlopoulou had nine assists in the first half, but the perimeter shot hurt the team, who had an excellent 2-point percentage, won the rebound battle and had a good assist/foul ratio.

The Czech Republic, on the other hand, had better efficiency on the three-pointer, and had a clear mind at 15.4" when Pavlopoulou made a big three-pointer to cut it to 75-74. Holesinska answered with shots for the +3, Fasoula again cut to the point at 6.3" after an offensive rebound of her own, Holesinska went to the line again for 2/2 at 5.4" and in the final Pavlopoulou took a difficult three and missed.

Δεν τα κατάφερε η Εθνική Γυναικών απέναντι στην Τσεχία. Ηττήθηκε με 79-76 και έχασε την ευκαιρία να προκριθεί στα προημιτελικά του EuroBasket 2023.

Οι συγκυρίες ήταν ευνοϊκές. Η Ελλάδα έδωσε μεγάλη μάχη απέναντι στην Τσεχία, στο τέλος όμως λύγισε (79-76) και έχασε την ευκαιρία να παλέψει με την Ουγγαρία στον προημιτελικό του EuroBasket Γυναικών.

Η Μαριέλλα Φασούλα (26 πόντοι, 13 ριμπάουντ σε 40 λεπτά) και η Άρτεμη Σπανού (22 πόντοι, 6 ριμπάουντ, 5 ασίστ) ήταν συγκλονιστικές, η Ελεάννα Χριστινάκη τις ακολούθησε, η Πηνελόπη Παυλοπούλου είχε εννέα ασίστ στο πρώτο μέρος, όμως το περιφερειακό σουτ πλήγωσε την ομάδα, που είχε εξαιρετικό ποσοστό στο δίποντο, κέρδισε τη μάχη του ριμπάουντ και είχε καλή αναλογία ασίστ/λαθών.

Η Τσεχία, από την άλλη, είχε καλύτερη αποτελεσματικότητα στο τρίποντο, είχε και καθαρό μυαλό στα 15.4" όταν η Παυλοπούλου έβαλε μεγάλο τρίποντο για να μειώσει στο 75-74. Η Χολεσίνσκα απάντησε με βολές για το +3, η Φασούλα μείωσε ξανά στον πόντο στα 6.3" μετά από δικό της επιθετικό ριμπάουντ, η Χολεσίνσκα πήγε ξανά στη γραμμή για 2/2 στα 5.4" και στο φινάλε η Παυλοπούλου πήρε ένα δύσκολο τρίποντο και αστόχησε.
