The shareholders met and decided to postpone the participation of the teams of the Russian Federation in both the EuroLeague (CSKA Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg, Unics Kazan) and the EuroCup (Lokomotiv Kuban)

Rapid developments in the Euroleague due to the war in Ukraine. With the Russian teams essentially expelled from the tournament until further notice, after the organizing authority officially announced that its decision is to postpone their participation in both the Euroleague and the Eurrocup and that it will monitor the developments of the war before moving on to another movement.

Specifically, after today's meeting of the shareholders of the event, the following were decided and announced:

The EuroLeague Basketball Shareholders' Council, which met in absentia on Monday 28 February, took the following decisions regarding the war in Ukraine:

The postponement of the participation of the teams of the Russian Federation in both the EuroLeague (CSKA Moscow, Zenit St. Petersburg, Unics Kazan) and the EuroCup (Lokomotiv Kuban)

The EuroLeague will continue to monitor the situation. If the situation does not develop in a pleasant way, all the matches of the regular season against the Russian teams will be deleted from the calculations of the ranking.

The EuroLeague and its clubs reiterate their strong commitment to peace, against any act of violence or war, and will continue to use their voice to promote respect and diversity, principles at the core of its organization and its teams.

Η μέτοχοι συνεδρίασαν και αποφάσισαν την αναβολή της συμμετοχής των ομάδων της Ρωσικής Ομοσπονδίας τόσο στην EuroLeague (ΤΣΣΚΑ Μόσχας, Ζενίτ Αγ. Πετρούπολης, Ούνικς Καζάν) όσο και στο EuroCup (Λοκομοτίβ Κουμπάν)

Ραγδαίες εξελίξεις στη Euroleague λόγω του πολέμου στην Ουκρανία. Με τις ρωσικές ομάδες επί της ουσίας να αποβάλλονται από τη διοργάνωση μέχρι νεωτέρας, αφού η διοργανώτρια αρχή ανακοίνωσε επίσημα πως η απόφασή της είναι να αναβληθεί η συμμετοχή τους τόσο στην Ευρωλίγκα όσο και στο Eurrocup και πως θα παρακολουθεί τις εξελίξεις του πολέμου πριν προχωρήσει σε άλλη κίνηση.

Συγκεκριμένα, μετά από σημερινή σύσκεψη των μετόχων της διοργάνωσης, αποφασίστηκαν και ανακοινώθηκαν τα εξής:

Το Συμβούλιο των Μετόχων της EuroLeague Basketball, που συναντήθηκε εξ αποστάσεως τη Δευτέρα 28 Φεβρουαρίου, πήρε τις ακόλουθες αποφάσεις αναφορικά με τον πόλεμο στην Ουκρανία:

Την αναβολή της συμμετοχής των ομάδων της Ρωσικής Ομοσπονδίας τόσο στην EuroLeague (ΤΣΣΚΑ Μόσχας, Ζενίτ Αγ. Πετρούπολης, Ούνικς Καζάν) όσο και στο EuroCup (Λοκομοτίβ Κουμπάν)

H EuroLeague θα συνεχίσει να παρακολουθεί την εξέλιξη της κατάστασης. Αν η κατάσταση δεν εξελιχθεί με ευχάριστο τρόπο, όλοι οι αγώνες της κανονικής περιόδου εναντίον των ρωσικών ομάδων θα διαγραφούν από τους υπολογισμούς της κατάταξης.

Η EuroLeague και οι σύλλογοί της επαναλαμβάνουν την ισχυρή τους δέσμευση υπέρ της ειρήνης, εναντίον κάθε πράξης βίας ή πολέμου, και θα συνεχίσουν να χρησιμοποιούν τη φωνή τους για να προωθούν τον σεβασμό και τη διαφορετικότητα, αρχές που βρίσκονται στον πυρήνα της διοργάνωσης και των ομάδων της
