Suns-Clippers 120-114: Devin Booker wins West's first final almost alone (vid)
Chris Paul and Quay Leonard were missing, but the Suns and Clippers put up a great fight in Game 1 of the Western Finals, with the Phoenix team relying on the spectacular Devin Booker for 120-114 and 1-0 in a row.
In the best way, by analogy, the Western finals between the Suns and the Clippers started on Sunday night (20/6). The Phoenix team won 120-114, made it 1-0 and made up for the absence of patient Chris Paul, with Devin Booker writing the first triple-double of his career (overall, not in the playoffs) in a spectacular appearance against a defense tailored to him.

Ο Κρις Πολ κι ο Κουάι Λέοναρντ έλειπαν, όμως οι Σανς και οι Κλίπερς έδωσαν σπουδαία μάχη στο Game 1 των τελικών της Δύσης, με την ομάδα του Φοίνιξ να στηρίζεται στον φαντασμαγορικό Ντέβιν Μπούκερ για το 120-114 και το 1-0 στη σειρά.
Με τον καλύτερο τρόπο, τηρουμένων των αναλογιών, ξεκίνησαν το βράδυ της Κυριακής (20/6) οι τελικοί της Δύσης ανάμεσα στους Σανς και τους Κλίπερς. Η ομάδα του Φοίνιξ πήρε τη νίκη με 120-114, έκανε το 1-0 και κάλυψε την απουσία του ασθενή Κρις Πολ, με τον Ντέβιν Μπούκερ να γράφει το πρώτο triple-double της καριέρας του (συνολικά, όχι σε playoffs) σε μια φαντασμαγορική εμφάνιση απέναντι σε μια άμυνα προσαρμοσμένη πάνω του.
Ο σπουδαίος γκαρντ των Ήλιων σκόραρε 40 πόντους (12/22 δίποντα, 3/7 τρίποντα, 7/7 βολές, 13 ριμπάουντ, 11 ασίστ σε 43:56), με τον Ντιάντρε Έιτον να τον ακολουθεί (20 πόντοι, 10/14 δίποντα, 9 ριμπάουντ, 2 ασίστ) και τον Μικάλ Μπρίτζες να κάνει απίθανη δουλειά και στις δύο άκρες του παρκέ, παίζοντας στα κόκκινα στα 36 λεπτά που έμεινε στο παρκέ. Αντεχαν στα ξεσπάσματα των γηπεδούχων, ακόμη κι όταν εκείνοι ξέφυγαν με 10 (116-106) λίγο πριν από το φινάλε. Ο Τέρανς Μαν μείωσε στο καλάθι με τρίποντο στα 22", όμως ο Μπούκερ κάρφωσε για το 118-114 και στα 4.6" κέρδισε και φάουλ μετά από δικό του αμυντικό ριμπάουντ για να βάλει τις βολές και να κλειδώσει το ματς.
Πολ Τζορτζ (34 πόντοι, 3/11 δίποντα, 7/15 τρίποντα, 7/8 βολές, 4 ριμπάουντ, 5 ασίστ σε 39 λεπτά) και Ρέτζι Τζάκσον (24 πόντοι, 6 ριμπάουντ, 4 ασίστ) ήταν οι δύο που ξεχώρισαν, με την απουσία του Λέοναρντ να φαίνεται στο φινάλε, αλλά και εκείνη του Σερτζ Ιμπάκα να δημιουργεί σημαντικά ζητήματα στο βάθος της φροντ λάιν και στην αμυντική λειτουργεία της ομάδας του Λος Άντζελες.
