The Lithuanian playmaker returned to Zalgiris for the second time, as he had preceded the return of the 2015-16 season. Thus, for the third time in his career, he will wear the jersey of the Lithuanian champions, strengthening the team of Martin Schiller.
The 34-year-old guard is a native of Kaunas and with his return he is expected to end his career there.

Στο Κάουνας και την Ζαλγκίρις επιστρέφει ο Μάντας Καλνιέτις μετά από πέντε χρόνια! Η πρωταθλήτρια Λιθουανίας ανακοίνωσε την απόκτησή του για την ερχόμενη σεζόν.
Έπειτα από μια πενταετία σε Αρμάνι Μιλάνο (2016-18), Βιλερμπάν (2018-19) και Λοκομοτίβ Κουμπάν (2019-21) ο Μάντας Καλνιέτις επιστρέφει στην... βάση του.
Ο Λιθουανός πλέι μέικερ επέστρεψε στην Ζαλγκίρις για δεύτερη φορά, καθώς είχε προηγηθεί η επιστροφή της σεζόν 2015-16. Έτσι, για τρίτη φορά στην καριέρα του θα φορέσει τη φανέλα των πρωταθλητών Λιθουανίας, ενισχύοντας την ομάδα του Μάρτιν Σίλερ.
Ο 34χρονος γκαρντ είναι είναι γέννημα-θρέμμα του Κάουνας και με την επιστροφή του αναμένεται να κλείσει εκεί και την καριέρα του.
