Despite the timeout on the part of the hosts, it did not change the slightest, as Zalgiris reduced even more in the final of the season (73-64).

The game gained interest again, with the guests approaching -5 (73-68) at the beginning of the fourth period. And not only that, since with Lekavitsios in front, who scored consecutive points, Zalgiris equalized 77-77 in 34 ', making the match a derby again. «Έπαιξε με τη φωτιά, αλλά δεν κάηκε»! Η Αρμάνι Μιλάνο νίκησε μετά κόπων και βασάνων με 98-92 τη Ζαλγκίρις Κάουνας, η οποία επέστρεψε στο ματς, παρότι βρέθηκε να χάνει με διαφορά 20 πόντων (62-42) στα μισά της τρίτης περιόδου.

Έτσι, μετά από 10 αγωνιστικές στη Euroleague, οι Ιταλοί έχουν πλέον ρεκόρ 4-3, ενώ οι Λιθουανοί, που γνώρισαν την τέταρτη συνεχόμενη ήττα τους, βρίσκονται στο 5-5.

Κορυφαίοι παίκτες των νικητών ήταν οι Πάντερ και Λεντέι, που πέτυχαν 22 και 20 πόντους αντίστοιχα, ενώ άξιοι συμπαραστάτες τους ήταν οι Σιλντς με 17, Ντιλέινι με 13 και Χάινς με 10. Από πλευράς ηττημένων, πρώτος σκόρερ ήταν ο Λεκαβίτσιους με 16, ενώ ο Γιοκουμπάιτις είχε 15.

Το ματς:

Με «καυτό» Λεντέι μπήκε στο ματς η Αρμάνι, αφού ο Αμερικανός ήταν το σημείο αναφοράς στην επίθεση, πετυχαίνοντας τους 9 από τους 12 πόντους της ομάδας του, η οποία προηγήθηκε 12-5. Όμως, η Ζαλγκίρις αντέδρασε και μέσα σε ένα λεπτό ισοφάρισε σε 12-12. Οι γηπεδούχοι ξαναπήραν τον έλεγχο και το προβάδισμα με 21-17 στο 7’, αλλά στο τελευταίο τρίλεπτο οι Λιθουανοί «έτρεξαν» σερί 8-0 και έκλεισαν το πρώτο δεκάλεπτο όντας μπροστά στο σκορ με 25-21, με τις άμυνες να μοιάζουν με… παιδικές χαρές.

Με το ξεκίνημα της δεύτερης περιόδου, οι γηπεδούχοι έπαιξαν κάποιες καλές άμυνες και σε συνδυασμό με τις δικές τους καλές επιλογές στην επίθεση, έκαναν σερί 10-2, «γυρίζοντας» την κατάσταση (31-27 στο 14’), αναγκάζοντας τον προπονητή των φιλοξενούμενων να καλέσει τάιμ άουτ. Παρ’ όλα αυτά, ο ρυθμός τους δεν ανακόπηκε, με τη διαφορά να φτάνει για πρώτη φορά σε διψήφιο νούμερο (37-27). Οι Ιταλοί είχαν «πάρει φωτιά» και κάνοντας ένα εξαιρετικό οχτάλεπτο σε άμυνα και επίθεση, έφτασαν και στο +13 (46-33). Στο τελευταίο δίλεπτο οι Λιθουανοί έβγαλαν αντίδραση και μείωσαν σε 46-40, αλλά με νέο σερί 6-0, η διαφορά εκτοξεύθηκε πάλι, για να κλείσει το ημίχρονο με 52-40.

Η Ζαλγκίρις πέτυχε ένα καλάθι με τον Γιανκούνας πριν τη συμπλήρωση του πρώτου λεπτού στο τρίτο δεκάλεπτο, αλλά έμεινε χωρίς πόντο στα επόμενα τρία λεπτά. Η Αρμάνι το εκμεταλλεύτηκε στον απόλυτο βαθμό και έφτασε να προηγείται με διαφορά 20 πόντων (62-42), με την τριπλέτα Πάντερ-Λεντέι-Σιλντς να έχει σημειώσει τους 47 πόντους. Οι Λιθουανοί, πάντως, δεν τα παράτησαν, αλλά κάνοντας ένα σερί 12-5, μάζεψαν τη διαφορά στους 13 (67-54) στο 27’. Παρά το τάιμ άουτ από πλευράς γηπεδούχων, δεν άλλαξε το παραμικρό, αφού η Ζαλγκίρις μείωσε ακόμη περισσότερο στο φινάλε της περιόδου (73-64).

Το παιχνίδι απέκτησε εκ νέου ενδιαφέρον, με τους φιλοξενούμενους να πλησιάζουν και στο -5 (73-68) στο ξεκίνημα της τέταρτης περιόδου. Και όχι μόνο αυτό, αφού με μπροστάρη τον Λεκαβίτσιους, ο οποίος πέτυχε συνεχόμενους πόντους, η Ζαλγκίρις ισοφάρισε 77-77 στο 34’, κάνοντας το ματς και πάλι ντέρμπι. Οι δύο ομάδες μπήκαν στο τελευταίο τρίλεπτο με το σκορ στο 83-82, αλλά με δύο τρίποντα από Ροντρίγκες και Ντιλέινι η Αρμάνι ξέφυγε με 7 πόντους (89-82), δυόμισι λεπτά πριν το φινάλε. Οι Ιταλοί έκαναν αυτή τη φορά σωστή διαχείριση της υπέρ τους διαφοράς και κατέκτησαν το ροζ φύλλο με τελικό σκορ 98-92.
