Rockets - Thunder 111-98: Houston also wins on defense (vid)
Armed with the defense, the Rockets made it 2-0 in a row with the Thunder, beating them in a very dynamic match in which the injured Russell Westbrook did not play. A record in the history of the NBA Playoffs is the 56 executed three-pointers by Houston.
Russell Westbrook remains out of action, but the Rockets win. They did the same on Thursday night (early Friday morning in Greece), as they prevailed with 111-98 of the Thunder to make it 2-0 in the series of the first round of the playoffs of the Western Region, without even needing the miracles of James Harden. Good defense (and yet they played consistently and concentrated in the backcourt) and efficiency in places where the Oklahoma City team was gaining momentum helped Houston reach two wins away from the Western Conference semifinals.
With a quick 11-0 from a three-pointer by the Giltians-Alexander (2) - Dort, the Thunder took a 72-69 lead in the middle of the third period, after the Rockets had come in with a terrible 16-2 to turn the match around. . D'Antoni's players closed the first half without error (!) To make six in the third quarter, before another dynamic outburst came with which they went to +14 (94-80) at the beginning of the fourth period. They never looked back, they easily reached 2-0 and they are moving forward showing a clear improvement, especially in the part of the defense that was by no means their advantage entering the playoffs.
The Rockets' 56 executed three-pointers are a record in NBA Playoffs history.

Με όπλο την άμυνα, οι Ρόκετς έκαναν το 2-0 στη σειρά με τους Θάντερ κερδίζοντάς τους σε ένα πολύ δυναμικό ματς στο οποίο δεν αγωνίστηκε ο τραυματίας Ράσελ Γουέστμπρουκ. Ρεκόρ στην ιστορία των NBA Playoffs τα 56 εκτελεσμένα τρίποντα του Χιούστον.
ΟΡάσελ Γουέστμπρουκ παραμένει εκτός δράσης, οι Ρόκετς όμως κερδίζουν. Αυτό έκαναν και τη νύχτα της Πέμπτης (ξημερώματα Παρασκευής στην Ελλάδα), καθώς επικράτησαν με 111-98 των Θάντερ για να κάνουν το 2-0 στη σειρά του πρώτου γύρου των playoffs της Δυτικής Περιφέρειας, χωρίς μάλιστα να χρειαστούν τα θαύματα του Τζέιμς Χάρντεν. Καλή άμυνα (και όμως, έπαιξαν με συνέπεια και συγκέντρωση στο πίσω μέρος του γηπέδου) και αποτελεσματικότητα σε σημεία που η ομάδα της Οκλαχόμα Σίτι έπαιρνε το μομέντουμ, βοήθησαν το Χιούστον να φτάσει δύο νίκες μακριά από τα ημιτελικά της Δύσης.
Με ένα γρήγορο 11-0 από τρίποντα των Γκίλτζιους-Αλεξάντερ (2) - Ντορτ, οι Θάντερ πέρασαν μπροστά με 72-69 στα μέσα της τρίτης περιόδου, αφού προηγουμένως οι Ρόκετς είχαν μπει με ένα τρομερό 16-2 για να γυρίσουν τούμπα το ματς. Οι παίκτες του Ντ' Αντόνι έκλεισαν το πρώτο μέρος χωρίς λάθος (!) για να κάνουν έξι στο τρίτο δεκάλεπτο, πριν έρθει και ένα ακόμη δυναμικό ξέσπασμα με το οποίο πήγαν στο +14 (94-80) στις αρχές της τέταρτης περιόδου. Δεν κοίταξαν ποτέ πίσω, έφτασαν εύκολα στο 2-0 και προχωρούν δείχνοντας σαφή βελτίωση κυρίως στο κομμάτι της άμυνας που δεν ήταν σε καμία περίπτωση το πλεονέκτημά τους μπαίνοντας στα playoffs.
Τα 56 εκτελεσμένα τρίποντα των Ρόκετς συνιστούν ρεκόρ στην ιστορία των NBA Playoffs.
