Raptors - Nets 104-99: Toronto made it 2-0 with a thousand efforts (vid)
The Raptors had a hard time getting the victory over the Nets (104-99) in the second match of the series between them for the first round of the playoffs of the Eastern Region.
In the Orlando bubble, there are no favorites and no underdogs. It has been proven from the very first games of the playoffs, it was proved on Wednesday night (19/8) as the champions Raptors had a really hard time until they broke with 104-99 the resistance of the Nets fighters for the 2-0 in the series of the Eastern Region .
The trio of guards (Laurie - VanVlit - Powell) was amazing, Pascal Shiakam followed and a 9-0 streak in the fourth period gave the Canadians an eight-point lead (93-85) who were still under suffocating pressure there, but had more experience and above all determination to clean this laundry as well.
The Nets showed again that their presence in the playoffs is not just a coincidence, even though they have half a dozen (very important) absences. They played good basketball and if Caris Levert was not too misplaced, they might have "stolen" the victory. A victory they could get in the final. At 15 "the ball was theirs with the score at 102-99, but Harris did not find space for a shot and Powell stole the ball to nail the surprise and lock the victory for the Raptors.
The Laurie-VanVlit-Powell trio closed the game with 69 points from 26/53 shots, 20 rebounds and 15 assists, while Pascal Siakam had 19 points and six rebounds. Joe Harris with 14 points and 15 rebounds (!) Along with Jarrett Allen (14 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks) and Garrett Temple (21 points from 5/11 3-pointers) were the leaders of the Nets.

Πολύ δύσκολα πήραν οι Ράπτορς τη νίκη επί των Νετς (104-99) στο δεύτερο ματς της μεταξύ τους σειράς για τον πρώτο γύρο των playoffs της Ανατολικής Περιφέρειας.
Στη "φούσκα" του Ορλάντο, δεν υπάρχουν φαβορί και αουτσάιντερ. Έχει αποδειχθεί από τα πρώτα κιόλας παιχνίδια των playoffs, αποδείχθηκε και το βράδυ της Τετάρτης (19/8) καθώς οι πρωταθλητές Ράπτορς δυσκολεύθηκαν πραγματικά πολύ μέχρι να κάμψουν με 104-99 την αντίσταση των μαχητικών Νετς για το 2-0 στη σειρά της Ανατολικής Περιφέρειας.
Η τριάδα των γκαρντ (Λάουρι - ΒανΒλίτ - Πάουελ) ήταν καταπληκτική, ο Πασκάλ Σιάκαμ ακολούθησε και ένα σερί 9-0 στην τέταρτη περίοδο έδωσε αέρα οκτώ πόντων (93-85) στους Καναδούς που ακόμη κι εκεί δέχθηκαν ασφυκτική πίεση, αλλά είχαν περισσότερη εμπειρία και κυρίως αποφασιστικότητα για να καθαρίσουν και αυτή τη μπουγάδα.
Οι Νετς έδειξαν και πάλι πως μόνο τυχαία δεν είναι η παρουσία τους στα playoffs κι ας έχουν μισή ντουζίνα (σημαντικότατες) απουσίες. Έπαιξαν καλό μπάσκετ και αν ο Κάρις ΛεΒέρτ δεν ήταν υπερβολικά άστοχος, ίσως είχαν "κλέψει" τη νίκη. Μια νίκη που μπορούσαν να πάρουν και στο φινάλε. Στα 15" η μπάλα ήταν δική τους με το σκορ στο 102-99, όμως ο Χάρις δεν βρήκε χώρο για σουτ και ο Πάουελ έκλεψε τη μπάλα για να καρφώσει στον αιφνιδιασμό και να κλειδώσει τη νίκη για τους Ράπτορς.
