Κατά την έναρξη της τηλεδιάσκεψης μεταξύ των έντεκα ομάδων - μετόχων της EuroLeague, ο Τζόρντι Μπερτομέου πρότεινε την οριστική διακοπή της φετινής σεζόν για λόγους ασφαλείας.

Ητηλεδιάσκεψη μεταξύ των έντεκα ομάδων - μετόχων της EuroLeague, του Τζόρντι Μπερτομέου και του επιτελείου του ξεκίνησε το πρωί της Δευτέρας 25 Μαΐου, με τον Εκτελεστικό Διευθυντή της διοργάνωσης να παίρνει πρώτος τον λόγο και να προτείνει την οριστική διακοπή της φετινής σεζόν.

Δύο μέρες μετά το κατηγορηματικό "όχι" που είπαν οι παίκτες της διοργάνωσης (μέσω της ELPA), ο Τζόρντι Μπερτομέου τάχθηκε στο πλευρό τους, προτείνοντας να μπει πρόωρο τέλος στη φετινή αγωνιστική περιόδο για λόγους ασφαλείας. Τόσο λόγω του κορονοϊού, όσο και υπό τον κίνδυνο σοβαρών τραυματισμών των παικτών.
