Έχοντας φτάσει και στο +16, η Αρμάνι νίκησε 89-82 τη Ρεάλ Μαδρίτης στο Μιλάνο για τη 16η αγωνιστική της Ευρωλίγκας και της «έσπασε» το σερί των τεσσάρων συνεχόμενων νικών, με αμφότερες να ισοβαθμούν με 9-7 ρεκόρ στην προνομιούχο δεκάδα και να εξακολουθούν να διεκδικούν την πρόκριση στους «16».

Ένα σερί 5-0 της Αρμάνι στην έναρξη της δεύτερης περιόδου έκανε το 28-21 για τους πρωταθλητές της Lega Basket κι ένα ακόμα 4-0 σερί των γηπεδούχων το 34-26. Ο Μπράουν έφερε το +10 για την Αρμάνι, έχοντας αναλάβει επιθετικές πρωτοβουλίες σε αυτό το διάστημα, κι ο Μπούκερ το +11 στην προσπάθεια των παικτών του Σέρτζιο Σκαριόλο να πλησιάσουν. Ο Γκούντουριτς με πέντε προσωπικούς πόντους βοήθησε για το 66-58 πριν ο Χεζόνια μειώσει 66-60 στην ολοκλήρωση του τριαντάλεπτου.

Ο Οκέκε μείωσε στο 66-62 στην έναρξη της τέταρτης περιόδου, όμως εκεί ο Μπρουκς πήρε το «όπλο» του κι έφερε δύο φορές το +7 για τους Ιταλούς. Το τρίποντο του Γκούντουριτς έφερε το +10 για την Αρμάνι κι ο Σέρβος διεθνής γκαρντ έφερε το +11 για τους πρωταθλητές Ιταλίας. Οι Ισπανοί είχαν 7/27 τρίποντα στην προσπάθεια να μειώσουν τη διψήφια διαφορά, παρά τα 14 ριμπάουντ περισσότερα σε αυτό το διάστημα. Ο Σιλντς έκανε το 81-69 κι η Αρμάνι διατηρούσε το +10 με +12 σε αυτό το διάστημα, με τον Νίμπο να έχει αναλάβει το σκοράρισμα πλέον.

Ο Μαλεντόν μείωσε στο 87-82, όμως στο τελευταίο λεπτό η αστοχία των «μερένχες» κι η ευστοχία των Ιταλών στις βολές διαμόρφωσαν το τελικό 89-82.
