Athinaikos: Strengthened with Anigwe

Athinaikos made another transfer, acquiring Kristine Anigwe for the front line.

Athinaikos acquired 28-year-old power forward/center Kristine Anigwe (1.93m). The British player with Nigerian roots replaces Kamila Barkowska.

Second addition in a few weeks and the strengthening of Athinaikos Qualco in view of the challenges ahead continues with Kristine Anigwe.

Her motto is that "there is no ceiling" and she could not find us more in agreement. Athinaikos Qualco is pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with Kristine Anigwe (28 years old, 1m93), whom it will welcome in the next 24 hours in Athens.

The British player, of Nigerian origin and an American passport, began this season playing for Ormanspor in Turkey and averaged 18.2 points, 10.2 rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes per game in eight league games.

Kristine Anigwe has a resume with dozens of distinctions in the NCAA, where she has been named the top rebounder and voted the best defender of the year, was the 9th overall pick in the WNBA Draft and has played in 77 games on the other side of the Atlantic.

In Europe, she has participated in both the Euroleague and the EuroCup, with a career in the Turkish, Italian and Hungarian championships. She has won two U17 and U15 gold medals with the United States and has chosen to compete with the Great Britain National Team.

Regarding the great move with the acquisition of Kristine Anigwe, Mr. Haris Politis, head of the governing committee of Athenian Qualco, stated: "From the first moment as the new governing committee, we made it clear that we are by our team's side, all ready to do whatever it takes, in consultation with our sponsors, to achieve this year's high goals.

Μια ακόμη μεταγραφή έκανε ο Αθηναϊκός, που απέκτησε την Κριστίν Ανίγκουε για τη front line.

Την 28ρονη πάουερ φόργουορντ/σέντερ Κριστίν Ανίγκουε (1,93μ.) απέκτησε ο Αθηναϊκός. Η Βρετανίδα με ρίζες από τη Νιγηρία αντικαθιστά την Καμίλα Μπαρκόφσκα.

Δεύτερη προσθήκη μέσα σε μερικές εβδομάδες και η ενίσχυση του Αθηναϊκού Qualco εν όψει των προκλήσεων που έχει μπροστά του συνεχίζεται με την Κριστίν Ανίγκουε.

Η Βρετανίδα, με νιγηριανή καταγωγή και αμερικανικό διαβατήριο, παίκτρια ξεκίνησε τη φετινή σεζόν αγωνιζόμενη στην Όρμανσπορ στην Τουρκία και είχε σε οκτώ ματς πρωταθλήματος 18.2 πόντους, 10.2 ριμπάουντ και δύο ασίστ μέσο όρο σε 31 λεπτά ανά αγώνα.

Η Kristine Anigwe κουβαλάει ένα βιογραφικό με δεκάδες διακρίσεις στο NCAA, όπου μεταξύ άλλων έχει αναδειχθεί πρώτη ριμπάουντερ και έχει ψηφιστεί καλύτερη αμυντικός της χρονιάς, ήταν στο νούμερο 9 του WNBA Draft και έχει παίξει σε 77 ματς στην άλλη άκρη του Ατλαντικού.

Στην Ευρώπη έχει συμμετοχές τόσο στην Euroleague, όσο και στο EuroCup, με πορεία στο τουρκικό, το ιταλικό και το ουγγρικό πρωτάθλημα. Έχει κατακτήσει δύο χρυσά μετάλλια U17 και U15 με τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και έχει επιλέξει να αγωνίζεται με την Εθνική ομάδα της Μ. Βρετανίας.

Για την σπουδαία κίνηση με την απόκτηση της Κριστίν Ανίγκουε, ο κ. Χάρης Πολίτης, επικεφαλής της διοικούσας επιτροπής του Αθηναϊκού Qualco, δήλωσε: "Από την πρώτη στιγμή ως νέα διοικούσα επιτροπή ξεκαθαρίσαμε ότι είμαστε δίπλα στην προσπάθεια της ομάδας μας, όλοι έτοιμοι να κάνουμε ό,τι χρειαστεί, σε συνεννόηση με τους χορηγούς μας για να πετύχει τους φετινούς υψηλούς στόχους της.

Σε συνεργασία με το τεχνικό μας επιτελείο, προχωράμε σε όλες εκείνες τις κινήσεις που θα μας επιτρέψουν την περαιτέρω ενίσχυσή της. Μετά την προσθήκη της Ana Tadic, καλωσορίζουμε και την Kristine Anigwe στον Αθηναϊκό Qualco.
