EuroLeague: Senior executives in Israel for the return of games

Senior executives of the EuroLeague and EuroCup arrive in Tel Aviv for a two-day visit, aiming to assess security and make decisions on the return of international games to the country.

According to information from “israelhayom”, the EuroLeague is sending senior executives to Israel, as a critical two days begin for the return of international games.

The mission will consist of Diego Julian, CEO of the EuroCup and vice president of the EuroLeague, and Paulius Motejunas, CEO of the EuroLeague, who are considered supporters of the return of games to the country.

The two officials will be in Tel Aviv at the invitation of the teams, visiting the “Menorah Mivtachim Arena”, which will host EuroLeague games for the first time since October 2023.

At the same time, they will meet with the management of Maccabi and Hapoel Tel Aviv, as well as representatives of the police and insurance authorities, in order to determine that conditions are safe and to approve the return of the top European basketball games to the country.

This visit will determine the course of international games in Israel, with the team and fans awaiting decisions on the resumption of games in the country.

Ανώτατα στελέχη της EuroLeague και του EuroCup φτάνουν στο Τελ Αβίβ για διήμερη επίσκεψη, με στόχο να αξιολογήσουν την ασφάλεια και να πάρουν αποφάσεις για την επιστροφή των διεθνών αγώνων στη χώρα.

Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες του “israelhayom”, η EuroLeague στέλνει ανώτερα στελέχη της στο Ισραήλ, καθώς ξεκινούν κρίσιμες δύο ημέρες για την επιστροφή των διεθνών αγώνων.

Η αποστολή θα αποτελείται από τον Ντιέγκο Χούλιαν, CEO του EuroCup και αντιπρόεδρο της EuroLeague, και τον Παούλιους Μοτεγιούνας, CEO της EuroLeague, οι οποίοι θεωρούνται υποστηρικτές της επιστροφής των αγώνων στη χώρα.

Οι δύο αξιωματούχοι θα βρίσκονται στο Τελ Αβίβ κατόπιν πρόσκλησης των ομάδων, επισκεπτόμενοι τη “Menorah Mivtachim Arena”, που θα φιλοξενήσει αγώνες EuroLeague για πρώτη φορά από τον Οκτώβριο του 2023.

Παράλληλα, θα συναντηθούν με τη διοίκηση των Μακάμπι και Χάποελ Τελ Αβίβ, καθώς και με εκπροσώπους των αστυνομικών και ασφαλιστικών αρχών, προκειμένου να διαπιστωθεί ότι οι συνθήκες είναι ασφαλείς και να εγκριθεί η επιστροφή των κορυφαίων ευρωπαϊκών αγώνων μπάσκετ στη χώρα.

Η επίσκεψη αυτή θα καθορίσει την πορεία των διεθνών αγώνων στο Ισραήλ, με την ομάδα και τους φιλάθλους να περιμένουν τις αποφάσεις για την επανέναρξη των αγώνων στη χώρα.
