Liverpool manager Arne Slott joked that his team had been "very consistent" in recent Premier League games this season, but that consistency was linked to their defeats.
The English champions had lost four consecutive league games before beating Aston Villa at Anfield last weekend, following that win with another positive result, a 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League's fourth round of fixtures in midweek.
Last month's slump means Liverpool are currently seven points behind leaders Arsenal in the table, and Slott has admitted his side need to do the "right things" if they are to have any chance of regaining ground in the title race.
"We were actually very consistent, but the thing is we were consistent in defeat," the Dutchman joked in his press conference ahead of Sunday's game against Manchester City.

"We have to be consistent in doing things right. Manchester City are one of the toughest challenges you have to face when you play away from home in a season. It's a very interesting game that we are looking forward to."
“When I wasn’t working here and I was in Holland, I knew when the Manchester City vs. Liverpool game was going to be and I can tell you that I was 100% focused in front of the TV when it happened. These are the few games that everyone is looking forward to.”
Slott added: “Right now we have to focus exclusively on ourselves and our attention is only on consistency. We have lost a few games, as you know, a lot more than usual. But now we have won two. We are focusing on improving and on the players’ fitness. And we will see where that takes us.”

Ο προπονητής της Λίβερπουλ, Άρνε Σλοτ, αστειεύτηκε ότι η ομάδα του ήταν «πολύ συνεπής» στα τελευταία ματς της Premier League αυτή τη σεζόν, αλλά αυτή η συνέπεια σχετίζεται με τις ήττες που κατέγραψε.

Ο Σλοτ πρόσθεσε ακόμη πως: «Αυτή τη στιγμή πρέπει να εστιάσουμε αποκλειστικά στους εαυτούς μας και η προσοχή μας είναι στραμμένη μόνο στη συνέπεια. Έχουμε χάσει μερικά παιχνίδια, όπως ξέρετε, πολύ περισσότερα από ό,τι συνήθως. Αλλά τώρα έχουμε κερδίσει δύο. Εστιάζουμε στη βελτίωση και στην καλή φυσική κατάσταση των παικτών. Και θα δούμε πού θα μας οδηγήσει αυτό».
