EFL Cup: Brighton of Tzima & Kostoula scored a "six-goal" in Barnsley - Ekitike redeemed Liverpool!
With Tzima as the starter and four goals from Gomes, Brighton comfortably advanced from Barnsley to the next round of the EFL (0-6), while with Ekitike as the top scorer, Liverpool defeated Southampton (2-1).
A nervous qualification for Liverpool in the next round of the EFL Cup! Arne Slott's team had a hard time against Southampton, but managed to defeat them at "Anfield" by winning 2-1. The "reds" took the lead in the 43rd minute with Isak's first goal and went to the locker room ahead of the score. The "Saints" pressed in the second half and in the 76th minute managed to bring the match to a draw with Charles equalizing! However, Ekitike, in the 84th minute after a magical move and an assist from Chiesa, made the final 2-1, even seeing the second yellow card, as he took off his shirt during the celebrations.
A great performance for Brighton, with Stefano Jima starting in the starting lineup at Barnsley! The "Pelarogoi" had... a party as they dismantled the homonymous team with a score of 6-0 thanks to four goals from Gomes, one from Howell and one from Ayari. Jima was replaced in the 65th minute by Babis Kostoulas.
Qualification with a twist for Chelsea. With Maresca rotating, the Londoners struggled at Lincoln, as they saw Street take the lead in the 43rd minute. However, in the second half, Chelsea, with goals from George and Buonanote, turned the match around and qualified.

Με τον Τζίμα βασικό και τέσσερα γκολ του Γκόμες, η Μπράιτον πέρασε άνετα, από το Μπάρνσλεϊ στον επόμενο γύρο του EFL (0-6), ενώ με χρυσό σκόρερ τον Εκιτικέ, η Λίβερπουλ, λύγισε τη Σαουθάμπτον (2-1).
Πρόκριση με άγχος για τη Λίβερπουλ στον επόμενο γύρο του EFL Cup! Η ομάδα του Άρνε Σλοτ, δυσκολεύτηκε πολύ απέναντι στη Σαουθάμπτον, ωστόσο κατάφερε να τη λυγίσει στο «Άνφιλντ» επικρατώντας 2-1. Οι «κόκκινοι» προηγήθηκαν στο 43' με το πρώτο γκολ του Ίσακ και πήγαν στα αποδυτήρια μπροστά στο σκορ. Οι «Άγιοι» πίεσαν στο δεύτερο μέρος και στο 76' κατάφεραν να φέρουν το ματς στα ίσα με τον Τσαρλς να ισοφαρίζει! Ωστόσο ο Εκιτικέ, στο 84' έπειτα από μαγική ενέργεια και ασίστ του Κιέσα, διαμόρφωσε το τελικό 2-1, βλέποντας μάλιστα τη δεύτερη κίτρινη κάρτα, καθώς έβγαλε τη φανέλα του κατά τη διάρκεια των πανηγυρισμών.
Φοβερή εμφάνιση για την Μπράιτον, με τον Στέφανο Τζίμα να ξεκινά βασικό στην έδρα της Μπάρνσλεϊ! Οι «πελαργοί» έκαναν... πάρτι καθώς διέλυσαν την ομώνυμη ομάδα με σκορ 6-0 χάρη σε τέσσερα γκολ του Γκόμες, ένα του Χάουελ και ένα του Αγιάρι. Αντικατέστησε τον Τζίμα στο 65ο λεπτό ο Μπάμπης Κωστούλας.
Πρόκριση με ανατροπή για την Τσέλσι. Με τον Μαρέσκα να κάνει ροτέισον, οι Λονδρέζοι, δυσκολεύτηκαν στην έδρα της Λίνκολν, καθώς την είδαν να προηγείται με τον Στριτ στο 43'. Ωστόσο στο δεύτερο μέρος η Τσέλσι, με τα γκολ των Τζορτζ και Μπουονανότε γύρισε το ματς και πήρε την πρόκριση.
