F1 - Horner officially steps down from Red Bull
A month after being sacked as Formula 1 team principal, the Briton is leaving the Austrian company for good.
Christian Horner, the longest-serving team principal in Formula 1 to date, has now been officially removed from any managerial role at Red Bull, a month after his surprise sacking.
The 51-year-old Briton was ousted as Red Bull Racing's chief executive a few days after the British GP, ending a 20-year reign at Milton Keynes. The decision was reportedly made following pressure from shareholders, with the Austrian side of the company seeking greater control.

Definitely past from Red Bull
Despite his removal from day-to-day operations, Horner remained formally registered as a director of four Red Bull companies in the UK: Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Technology, Red Bull Powertrains, which manages the existing Honda engines, as well as Red Bull Powertrains 2026.
However, as new Companies House documents have revealed, Horner has now officially been removed from all director positions within the last 48 hours. This development indicates that a compensation agreement has been reached with the Briton.
His position, for purely administrative reasons, had already been added since July by Stefan Salzer, Red Bull's head of HR worldwide.

The Horner era at Red Bull
Horner took over the team in 2005 and under his leadership Red Bull won eight world drivers' titles – four with Sebastian Vettel and four with Max Verstappen – as well as six constructors' championships, transforming the team into a dominant force in Formula 1.
Shadows and controversies
His career, however, was tarnished by last year's case with allegations of "inappropriate behavior" towards an employee, from which an internal investigation cleared him. Despite the acquittal, the incident intensified tensions with the Austrian administration, which was concerned about the excessive power Horner had amassed.
The new era
Red Bull installed Laurent Mekis, former head of Racing Bulls, as his successor at the helm of the main team. At the same time, Alan Permain took over the role of team principal at Racing Bulls, coming from the position of racing director.
With Horner's official removal from the registers, a two-decade chapter, which combined triumphs, controversies and intense intrigues at the top of Formula 1, is finally closed.

Η καριέρα του ωστόσο στιγματίστηκε από την περσινή υπόθεση με καταγγελίες για «ανάρμοστη συμπεριφορά» απέναντι σε υπάλληλο, τις οποίες πάντως εσωτερική έρευνα τον απάλλαξε. Παρά την αθώωση, το περιστατικό ενέτεινε τις εντάσεις με την αυστριακή διοίκηση, η οποία ανησυχούσε για την υπερβολική δύναμη που είχε συγκεντρώσει ο Χόρνερ.
Η νέα εποχή
Η Red Bull τοποθέτησε τον Λοράν Μέκις, πρώην επικεφαλής της Racing Bulls, ως διάδοχό του στο τιμόνι της κύριας ομάδας. Παράλληλα, ο Άλαν Περμέιν ανέλαβε τον ρόλο του team principal στη Racing Bulls, προερχόμενος από τη θέση του αγωνιστικού διευθυντή.
Με την επίσημη διαγραφή του Χόρνερ από τα μητρώα, κλείνει οριστικά ένα κεφάλαιο δύο δεκαετιών, που συνδύασε θριάμβους, αντιπαραθέσεις και έντονες ίντριγκες στην κορυφή της Formula 1.
