Juancho on Willy Hernangomez: "There was a possibility that we were together in Panathinaikos"

Juancho Hernangomez, in his recent statements, spoke about the relationship he has with his brother and referred to the fact that the two of them could be together in Panathinaikos.

Juancho Hernangomez is consistently one of the best players of Panathinaikos AKTOR and the Spanish national team. The "clover" forward, in fact, recently emerged as the top Spaniard playing abroad.

He himself, in his statements ahead of EuroBasket 2025, referred to the relationship he has with his brother, Willy and referred to the fact that the two of them could be teammates beyond the Spanish national team, both in Barcelona and in Panathinaikos!

"For us, it is an honor to play on the same team. We have already represented the national team for many, many years. We were lucky enough to win a World Cup together, a European Championship and that is something that I think we will remember for the rest of our lives. Why not play together? There was a possibility of being together at Panathinaikos, there was a possibility of being at Barcelona... I am very happy now in Greece, but you never know. Basketball and life take many turns.”

Regarding the Eurobasket, he said: “It takes a little patience. We will play with 19–20 year old guards. It is not right to burden them with the weight of Ricky or Raul Lopez. Neither are we Pau Gasol, nor is Sandy (Aldama) Marc Gasol. We will fight with humility, we will give everything in every match.”

ο Χουάντσο Ερνανγκόμεθ, σε πρόσφατες δηλώσεις του μίλησε για τη σχέση που έχει με τον αδερφό του και αναφέρθηκε στο γεγονός ότι οι δύο τους θα μπορούσαν να είναι μαζί στον Παναθηναϊκό.

Ο Χουάντσο Ερνανγκόμεθ είναι σταθερά ένας από τους καλύτερους παίκτες του Παναθηναϊκού AKTOR και της εθνικής Ισπανίας. Ο φόργουορντ του «τριφυλλιού» μάλιστα, αναδείχθηκε πρόσφατα ως κορυφαίος Ισπανός που αγωνίζεται στο εξωτερικό.

Ο ίδιος, σε δηλώσεις του ενόψει του EuroBasket 2025, αναφέρθηκε στη σχέση που έχει με τον αδερφό του, Γουίλι και αναφέρθηκε στο γεγονός ότι θα μπορούσαν οι δύο τους να είναι συμπαίκτες πέρα από την εθνική Ισπανίας τόσο στη Μπαρτσελόνα όσο και στον Παναθηναϊκό!

«Για εμάς είναι τιμή να παίζουμε στην ίδια ομάδα. Έχουμε ήδη εκπροσωπήσει την εθνική ομάδα για πολλά, πολλά χρόνια. Είχαμε την τύχη να κερδίσουμε μαζί ένα Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο, ένα Ευρωπαϊκό και αυτό είναι κάτι που νομίζω πως θα το θυμόμαστε για το υπόλοιπο της ζωής μας. Γιατί να μη παίξουμε μαζί; Υπήρχε η πιθανότητα να είμαστε μαζί στον Παναθηναϊκό, υπήρχε η πιθανότητα να είμαστε στη Μπαρτσελόνα... Εγώ είμαι πολύ χαρούμενος τώρα στην Ελλάδα, αλλά ποτέ δεν ξέρεις. Το μπάσκετ και η ζωή κάνουν πολλές στροφές».

Για το Eurobasket είπε: «Χρειάζεται λίγη υπομονή. Θα παίξουμε με γκαρντ 19–20 ετών. Δεν είναι σωστό να τους φορτώνουμε το βάρος του Ρίκι ή του Ραούλ Λόπεθ. Ούτε εμείς είμαστε Πάου Γκασόλ, ούτε ο Σάντι (Αλντάμα) είναι Μαρκ Γκασόλ. Θα παλέψουμε με ταπεινότητα, θα δώσουμε τα πάντα σε κάθε ματς».
