Once again, Pneumonidis' star shone, with the young Olympiacos ace scoring the 1-0 in the 10th minute, while he also managed to save a certain goal in the 49th minute by clearing the ball over the line.

Strefetsa also had an excellent day, not only for his goal in the 47th minute, but also for the excellent individual efforts that stunned the entire Al Taavon defense.

The only problem that José Luis Mendilibar will have to look at from this match is the terrible inefficiency of his players, as the "red and white" could have scored at least four more goals.

The match:

Al Taavon had a dynamic start to the match, with the Saudis creating a situation in the 30 seconds of the game. After the cross and without Olympiacos having time to touch the ball, they reached outside the area of Botis, who, however, reacted exemplary to the excellent shot that was made.

The answer of the "red and white" came in the 10th minute and was resounding. After a beautiful movement of the ball, Rodinei crossed from the right, with Pneumonidis jumping into the opponent's area and with a projection opened the score, for 1-0.

Strefetsa, with his well-known tricks, made fun of the Al Taavon defense and in the 21st minute he passed whoever he found in front of him, passing to Yazici at the right moment. However, the Turk did not manage to put enough power into the shot he attempted, as a result of which the ball went out in the arms of the opponent's goalkeeper.

Olympiacos did not let go of the gas and in the 27th minute Pneumonidis almost scored for the second time. The Al Taavon defense made a tragic mistake, with the young man stealing the ball on the edge of the penalty area. But the 19-year-old did not have time to execute, with the opportunity ultimately going unexploited.

At the start of the second half, Olympiacos had no difficulty in doubling its goals. In the 47th minute, Liatsikouras, with a magical cross, brought Pneumonidis across the opposing goalkeeper, but the youngster aimed for the crossbar. Strefetsa jumped on the rebound and executed perfectly for 2-0.

Al Taawon tried to find a quick answer, but did not count on Pneumonidis. The Saudi striker tried to hang Botis who was out of position, but at the last moment the scorer of the first goal headed it away, keeping the goal of the “red and whites” intact.

Al Taavon finally found the goal in the 51st minute. Martinez charged into Olympiacos' area and from a wide position he fired a shot past Botis for 2-1.

Liatsikouras also came close to scoring in the 55th minute, when the youngster received the ball from Strefetsa's excellent pass, but when he attempted a shot, an opponent's foot jumped up and prevented him from celebrating.

Strefetsa brought Masouras out in a four-on-four position with an incredible pass, but the Greek international failed to send the ball into the back of the net, with the opposing goalkeeper making an impressive save.

The "reds" squandered an unparalleled opportunity in the 90+1'. Masouras stole the defender's wallet inside the area, but the shot he attempted was not enough to end up in goal. Strefetsa then threatened to score with a shot on the move, but the Al Taavon defender cleared it on the line with his chest.

Με σούπερ Πνευμονίδη κλείνει νικηφόρα τις υποχρεώσεις του στην Ολλανδία ο Ολυμπιακός κυριαρχώντας απέναντι στην Αλ Τααβόν, παρά το φτωχό 2-1.

Με ιδανικό τρόπο ολοκληρώνει τις φιλικές του υποχρεώσεις στην Ολλανδία ο Ολυμπιακός, καταγράφοντας την πέμπτη του νίκη σε συνολικά έξι αναμετρήσεις, με πιο πρόσφατο… θύμα του να είναι η Αλ Τααβόν, επικρατώντας με 2-1.

Για ακόμη μία φορά το άστρο του Πνευμονίδη έλαμψε, με τον νεαρό άσο του Ολυμπιακού να σκοράρει το 1-0 στο 10’, ενώ κατάφερε να σώσει και ένα βέβαιο γκολ στο 49ο λεπτό διώχνοντας την μπάλα πάνω στη γραμμή.

Σε εξαιρετική μέρα ήταν και ο Στρεφέτσα, όχι μόνο για το τέρμα του στο 47ο λεπτό, αλλά και για τις εξαιρετικές ατομικές προσπάθειες, που ζάλισαν ολόκληρη την αμυντική γραμμή της Αλ Τααβόν.

Το μόνο πρόβλημα που θα πρέπει να κοιτάξει ο Χοσέ Λουίς Μεντιλίμπαρ από την αναμέτρηση αυτή, είναι η τρομερή αναποτελεσματικότητα των ποδοσφαιριστών του, καθώς οι «ερυθρόλευκοι» θα μπορούσαν να έχουν βάλει τουλάχιστον ακόμη τέσσερα γκολ.

Δυναμικό ήταν το ξεκίνημα της Αλ Τααβόν στην αναμέτρηση, με τους Σαουδάραβες να δημιουργούν φάση στα 30 δευτερόλεπτα του παιχνιδιού. Μετά τη σέντρα και χωρίς ο Ολυμπιακός να προλάβει να ακουμπήσει την μπάλα, έφτασαν έξω από την περιοχή του Μπότη, ο οποίος όμως στο εξαιρετικό σουτ που έγινε αντέδρασε υποδειγματικά.

Η απάντηση των «ερυθρόλευκων» ήρθε στο 10ο λεπτό και ήταν ηχηρή. Μετά από μία όμορφη κυκλοφορία της μπάλας, ο Ροντινέι έκανε τη σέντρα από τα δεξιά, με τον Πνευμονίδη να πετάγεται μέσα στην αντίπαλη περιοχή και με προβολή άνοιξε το σκορ, για το 1-0.

Ο Στρεφέτσα με τα γνωστά του κόλπα, έκανε πλάκα την άμυνα της Αλ Τααβόν και στο 21ο λεπτό πέρασε όποιον βρήκε μπροστά του, πασάροντας την κατάλληλη στιγμή στον Γιαζίτσι. Ο Τούρκος όμως δεν κατάφερε να βάλει αρκετή δύναμη στο σουτ που επιχείρησε, με αποτέλεσμα η μπάλα να σβήσει στην αγκαλιά του αντίπαλου κίπερ.

Ο Ολυμπιακός δεν άφησε το πόδι από το γκάζι και στο 27ο λεπτό ο Πνευμονίδης λίγο έλλειψε να χρηστεί και για δεύτερη φορά σκόρερ. Η άμυνα της Αλ Τααβόν έκανε ένα τραγικό λάθος, με τον νεαρό να κλέβει την μπάλα στα όρια της μεγάλη περιοχής. Όμως ο 19χρονος δεν πρόλαβε να εκτελέσει, με την ευκαιρία εν τέλει να περνάει ανεκμετάλλευτη.

Με την έναρξη του δευτέρου ημιχρόνου, ο Ολυμπιακός δεν δυσκολεύτηκε να διπλασιάσει τα τέρματα του. Στο 47ο λεπτό ο Λιατσικούρας με μαγική σέντρα έβγαλε τον Πνευμονίδη απέναντι από τον αντίπαλο τερματοφύλακα, όμως ο νεαρός στόχευσε το οριζόντιο δοκάρι. Στο ριμπάουντ πετάχτηκε ο Στρεφέτσα και εκτέλεσε ιδανικά για το 2-0.

Η Αλ Τααβόν επιχείρησε να βρει γρήγορα απάντηση, όμως δεν υπολόγισε στον Πνευμονίδη. Ο επιθετικός των Σαουδαράβων επιχείρησε να κρεμάσει τον Μπότη που ήταν εκτός θέσης, όμως τελευταία στιγμή ο σκόρερ του πρώτου τέρματος έδιωξε με κεφαλιά, διατηρώντας ανέπαφη την εστία των «ερυθρόλευκων».

Το γκολ τελικά η Αλ Τααβόν το βρήκε στο 51ο λεπτό. Ο Μαρτίνεζ μπήκε με αξιώσεις στην περιοχή του Ολυμπιακού και από πλάγια θέση εκτέλεσε τον Μπότη για το 2-1.

Κοντά στο γκολ έφτασε και ο Λιατσικούρας στο 55ο λεπτό, όταν ο νεαρό πήρε την μπάλα από την εξαιρετική πάσα του Στρεφέτσα, όμως στο σουτ που επιχείρησε ένα πόδι αντιπάλου πετάχτηκε και δεν του επέτρεψε να πανηγυρίσει.

Με απίθανη μπαλιά ο Στρεφέτσα έβγαλε τον Μασούρα σε θέση τετ α τετ, όμως ο Έλληνας διεθνής δεν κατάφερε να στείλει την μπάλα στο βάθος της εστίας, με τον αντίπαλο κίπερ να διώχνει εντυπωσιακά.

Ανεπανάληπτη ευκαιρία στο 90+1’ χαράμισαν οι «ερυθρόλευκοι». Ο Μασούρας έκλεψε το… πορτοφόλι του αμυντικού μέσα στην περιοχή, το σουτ που δοκίμασε όμως δεν ήταν αρκετό για να καταλήξει η μπάλα γκολ. Στη συνέχεια απείλησε καπάκι ο Στρεφέτσα με σουτ στην κίνηση, με τον αμυντικό της Αλ Τααβόν όμως να διώχνει πάνω στη γραμμή με το στήθος.
