Yannick Sinner got an informal revenge from Carlos Alcaraz for the lost final at Roland Garros. The Italian dethroned the Spaniard and with a victory (4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4) in the Wimbledon final won his first Grand Slam on grass to reach four in his career.

Set reversal and lead for Alcarath

The final started with a love game from Carlos Alcaraz (1-0). Two full games followed, with the finalists holding their serves and Yannick Sinner achieving his first love game afterwards (2-2).

In the fifth game, the Italian pressured his opponent and with three consecutive points reached break point (40-A). He was effective. He took the lead in the set, and defended his break with a difficult hold (4-2). However, this was also the last service game that closed in the opening set.

Carlos Alcaraz, initially, reduced to 4-3 and immediately equalized (4-4), taking back the break of the No.1 in the world. This streak was extended by the 22-year-old, who with a hold and... break on his opponent's serve made it 6-4 to take the lead in the final.

Reaction with... good morning in the second set from Sinner

In the second set, Yannick Sinner immediately entered to react. The Italian reached three break points (0-40), taking advantage of the third and... break his opponent's serve (1-0). In the Spaniard's break, the world No. 2 tried to find an answer, but Sinner immediately erased his break point to reach a hold (2-0).

The difference of one break was maintained by the Italian tennis player, who in the 7th game tried to violate Alcaraz's serve. The Spaniard put up a fight, but couldn't find a way to get the break back, losing the set 6-4.

With the two finalists each having one set, the third started with Carlos Alcaraz on serve. The Spaniard faced two break points from Yannick Sinner and held his service game. For his part, Sinner was also effective behind his serve, in which he improved significantly, hitting 7 aces, when in the first two sets he had none.

The two tennis players went together until the 9th game, in which Carlos Alcaraz served. There, Sinner took advantage of the only break opportunity and with a 5-4 lead served to close the set. With the balls in hand, the 23-year-old made no mistake and won the set 6-4.

Whether easily or difficultly, Sinner maintained his serve and in the 8th game he was faced with two break points from the Spaniard (15-40). The world No.1 made an epic reaction and with four consecutive points he found himself one game away from winning the set and the title. Alcaraz stayed in the game, reducing to 5-4 and then Siner with a double match point closed the set and celebrated winning his first Wimbledon title.

Ο Γιανίκ Σίνερ πήρε την άτυπη ρεβάνς από τον Κάρλος Αλκαράθ για τον χαμένο τελικό στο Roland Garros. Ο Ιταλός εκθρόνισε τον Ισπανό και με νίκη (4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4) στον τελικό του Wimbledon κατακτώντας το πρώτο του Grand Slam στο γρασίδι για να φτάσει στα τέσσερα στην καριέρα του.

Ανατροπή στο σετ και προβάδισμα για τον Αλκαράθ

Ο τελικός ξεκίνησε με love game από τον Κάρλος Αλκαράθ (1-0). Ακολούθησαν δύο γεμάτα games, με τους φιναλίστ να κρατούν τα σερβίς τους και τον Γιανίκ Σίνερ να πετυχαίνει το πρώτο του love game στη συνέχεια (2-2).

Στο πέμπτο game ο Ιταλός πίεσε τον αντίπαλό του και με τρεις σερί πόντους έφτασε στο break point (40-A). O ίδιος ήταν αποτελεσματικός. Πήρε κεφάλι στο σετ, και υπερασπίστηκε το break του με ένα δύσκολο hold (4-2). Ωστόσο, αυτό ήταν και το τελευταίο service game που έκλεισε στο εναρκτήριο σετ.

Ο Κάρλος Αλκαράθ, αρχικά, μείωσε σε 4-3 και αμέσως μετά ισοφάρισε (4-4), παίρνοντας πίσω το break του Νο.1 στον κόσμο. Το σερί αυτό διευρύνθηκε από τον 22χρονο, ο οποίος με hold και... σπάσιμο στο σερβίς του αντιπάλου του έκανε το 6-4 για να πάρει προβάδισμα στον τελικό.

Αντίδραση με το... καλημέρα στο δεύτερο σετ από τον Σίνερ

Στο δεύτερο σετ ο Γιανίκ Σίνερ μπήκε αμέσως για να βγάλει αντίδραση. Ο Ιταλός έφτασε σε τρία break points (0-40), εκμεταλλευόμενος το τρίτο και να... σπάσει το σερβίς του αντιπάλου του (1-0). Στο break του Ισπανού προσπάθησε να βρει απάντηση ο Νο.2 του κόσμου, όμως άμεσα του έσβησε το break point ο Σίνερ για να φτάσει σε hold (2-0).

H διαφορά του ενός break διατηρήθηκε από τον Ιταλό τενίστα, ο οποίος στο 7ο game προσπάθησε να παραβιάσει το σερβίς του Αλκαράθ. Ο Ισπανός έβγαλε αντίσταση, ωστόσο δεν βρήκε τον τρόπο να πάρει πίσω το break, χάνοντας το σετ με 6-4.

Στην κρίσιμη στιγμή ο Ιταλός δήλωσε «παρών»

Με τους δύο φιναλίστ να έχουν από ένα σετ, το τρίτο ξεκίνησε με τον Κάρλος Αλκαράθ στο σερβίς. Ο Ισπανός αντιμετώπισε δύο break point του Γιανίκ Σίνερ και κράτησε το service game του. Από τη μεριά του ο Σίνερ ήταν επίσης αποτελεσματικός πίσω από το σερβίς του, στο οποίο ανέβηκε αισθητά πετυχαίνοντας 7 άσους, όταν στα πρώτα δύο σετ δεν είχε κανέναν.

Οι δύο τενίστες πήγαν μαζί μέχρι 9ο game, στο οποίο σέρβιρε ο Κάρλος Αλκαράθ. Εκεί, ο Σίνερ εκμεταλλεύτηκε τη μοναδική ευκαιρία για break και με προβάδισμα 5-4 σέρβιρε για να κλείσει το σετ. Με τις μπάλες στα χέρια ο 23χρονος δεν λάθεψε και κατέκτησε το σετ με 6-4.

Έδειξε τα... δόντια του και εκθρόνισε τον Αλκαράθ

Το τέταρτο σετ ξεκίνησε με τον Κάρλος Αλκαράθ με την πλάτη στον τοίχο και να σερβίρει πρώτος. Ο 22χρονος κράτησε το σερβίς του, δεχόμενος στη συνέχεια ένα love game από τον Γιανίκ Σίνερ. Ο Ιταλός είχε ανεβάσει το ρυθμό του και στην πρώτη ευκαιρία που του εμφανίστηκε για break πήρε κεφάλι στο σετ, το οποίο εκμεταλλεύτηκε στο έπακρο με love game (3-1).

Είτε εύκολα, είτε δύσκολα ο Σίνερ διατήρησε το σερβίς του και στο 8ο game ήρθε αντιμέτωπος με δύο break points του Ισπανού (15-40). O No.1 του κόσμου έβγαλε επική αντίδραση και με τέσσερις σερί πόντους βρέθηκε ένα game μακριά από την κατάκτηση του σετ και συνάμα του τίτλου. Ο Αλκαράθ διατηρήθηκε στο παιχνίδι, μειώνοντας σε 5-4 και στη συνέχεια ο Σίνερ με διπλό match point έκλεισε το σετ και πανηγύρισε την κατάκτηση του πρώτου τίτλου στο Wimbledon.
