Servette defeated Viktoria Plzen 1-0 away and took the first step towards qualification in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, where they will find Panathinaikos, if the greens overcome the obstacle of Rangers.

Panathinaikos, if they overcome the obstacle of Rangers in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League, will be called upon in the 3rd round to eliminate the winner of the Viktoria Plzen - Servette pair in order to qualify for the playoffs of the top inter-club competition.

The Swiss took the first step towards qualification on Tuesday (22/07), prevailing 1-0 away from the Czechs. The winning goal for Servette was scored in the 13th minute by Samuel Mraz.

If Panathinaikos qualifies, then the first game of the two teams will take place at OAKA on August 5-6 and the return match at the home of either Viktoria Plzen or Servette a week later on August 12-13.

Η Σερβέτ νίκησε 1-0 εκτός έδρας τη Βικτόρια Πλζεν και έκανε το πρώτο βήμα πρόκρισης στον 3ο προκριματικό του Champions League, όπου θα βρει τον Παναθηναϊκό, αν οι πράσινοι ξεπεράσουν το εμπόδιο της Ρέιντζερς.

Ο Παναθηναϊκός, εφόσον περάσει το εμπόδιο της Ρέιντζερς στον 2ο προκριματικό γύρο του Champions League, θα κληθεί στον 3ο γύρο να αποκλείσουν τον νικητή του ζευγαριού Βικτόρια Πλζεν – Σερβέτ για να προκριθεί στα playoffs της κορυφαίας διασυλλογικής διοργάνωσης.

Οι Ελβετοί έκαναν το πρώτο βήμα πρόκρισης την Τρίτη (22/07), επικρατώντας με 1-0 εκτός έδρας των Τσέχων. Το νικητήριο γκολ για τη Σερβέτ σημείωσε στο 13ο λεπτό ο Σάμουελ Μραζ.

Εάν ο Παναθηναϊκός προκριθεί, τότε το πρώτο παιχνίδι των δύο ομάδων θα γίνει στο ΟΑΚΑ το διήμερο 5-6 Αυγούστου κι η ρεβάνς στην έδρα είτε της Βικτόρια Πλζεν είτε της Σερβέτ μία εβδομάδα αργότερα στις 12-13 Αυγούστου.
