Second victory for the National Team in the European Golden League! With a mature appearance and a clear mind, Kostas Christofidelis’ team prevailed 3-1 over Portugal and continues undefeated.

The Men’s National Team achieved its second consecutive victory in the European Golden League, prevailing over Portugal with a 3-1 set at the closed T9 in Arta, showing character and competitive consistency.

The guests entered the match stronger and took advantage of the Greek team’s mistakes, winning the first set 16-25. Portugal led 11-16 and 14-20, with Tsvetitsanin and Pinto leading the attack, surprising the National Team.

However, the reaction was not long in coming. In the second set, Greece started with energy and led 5-1, but the Portuguese tied it at 14-14. Mouhlias provided solutions in the attack, and despite the pressure in the final (23-23), Protopsaltis with an ace made it 25-23 and 1-1 in the sets.

The third set was equally lopsided. Portugal led 1-4, but the National Team responded with a block by Protopsaltis and went ahead 8-5. The two teams went hand in hand until 22-22, but Mouhlias and a wrong serve by Pinto tipped the scales in favor of Greece (25-23, 2-1).

In the fourth set, the Portuguese tried to send the match to a tiebreak, leading 7-10 and 16-19. But the Greek team remained calm. With crucial points from Voulkidis and Nanopoulos, they went ahead 20-19. The finale was dramatic: At 24-22, Mouhlias failed to finish the match, but Vaiopoulos, with his first time, “sealed” the victory with 25-23.

With this result, the National Team made it 2/2 in Arta, after the victory over Spain in the premiere, and is now preparing for the away matches in Latvia and Finland, with the aim of qualifying for the final four.

Δεύτερη νίκη για την Εθνική στο European Golden League! Με ώριμη εμφάνιση και καθαρό μυαλό, η ομάδα του Κώστα Χριστοφιδέλη επικράτησε 3-1 της Πορτογαλίας και συνεχίζει αήττητη.

Η Εθνική Ανδρών πέτυχε τη δεύτερη συνεχόμενη νίκη της στο European Golden League, επικρατώντας της Πορτογαλίας με 3-1 σετ στο κλειστό Τ9 της Άρτας, δείχνοντας χαρακτήρα και αγωνιστική συνέπεια.

Οι φιλοξενούμενοι μπήκαν πιο δυνατά στο ματς και εκμεταλλεύτηκαν τα λάθη της ελληνικής ομάδας, παίρνοντας το πρώτο σετ με 16-25. Η Πορτογαλία προηγήθηκε με 11-16 και 14-20, με τους Τσβετιτσάνιν και Πίντο να οδηγούν την επίθεση, αιφνιδιάζοντας την Εθνική.

Η αντίδραση, όμως, δεν άργησε. Στο δεύτερο σετ, η Ελλάδα ξεκίνησε με ενέργεια και προηγήθηκε 5-1, όμως οι Πορτογάλοι ισοφάρισαν σε 14-14. Ο Μούχλιας έδωσε λύσεις στην επίθεση, και παρά την πίεση στο φινάλε (23-23), ο Πρωτοψάλτης με άσσο διαμόρφωσε το 25-23 και το 1-1 στα σετ.

Το τρίτο σετ ήταν εξίσου αμφίρροπο. Η Πορτογαλία προηγήθηκε 1-4, αλλά η Εθνική απάντησε με μπλοκ του Πρωτοψάλτη και πέρασε μπροστά με 8-5. Οι δύο ομάδες πήγαν χέρι-χέρι μέχρι το 22-22, όμως ο Μούχλιας και ένα λάθος σερβίς του Πίντο έγειραν την πλάστιγγα υπέρ της Ελλάδας (25-23, 2-1).

Στο τέταρτο σετ, οι Πορτογάλοι προσπάθησαν να στείλουν το ματς στο τάι μπρέικ, προηγούμενοι με 7-10 και 16-19. Όμως η ελληνική ομάδα έμεινε ψύχραιμη. Με κρίσιμους πόντους από Βουλκίδη και Νανόπουλο, πέρασε μπροστά με 20-19. Το φινάλε ήταν δραματικό: Στο 24-22 ο Μούχλιας δεν κατάφερε να τελειώσει το ματς, αλλά ο Βαϊόπουλος με πρώτο χρόνο «σφράγισε» τη νίκη με 25-23.

Με αυτό το αποτέλεσμα, η Εθνική έκανε το 2/2 στην Άρτα, μετά τη νίκη επί της Ισπανίας στην πρεμιέρα, και πλέον ετοιμάζεται για τα εκτός έδρας ματς σε Λετονία και Φινλανδία, με στόχο την πρόκριση στην τελική τετράδα.
