Ο Πανιώνιος θα συμμετάσχει εκ νέου σε ευρωπαϊκή διοργάνωση, κάνοντας το μεγάλο βήμα με τη συμμετοχή στο EuroCup της σεζόν 2025/26.

Το ενδεχόμενο συμμετοχής σε ευρωπαϊκή διοργάνωση ήταν στο επίκεντρο για τους ανθρώπους του «Ιστορικού» που είχαν καταθέσει πλήρη φάκελο με την υποψηφιότητά τους, ο οποίος έγινε αποδεκτός.

Έτσι, οι Νεοσμυρνιώτες, με τον Λούκα Παβίτσεβιτς στην άκρη του πάγκου, θα συμμετάσχουν στο επόμενο EuroCup μαζί με τον Άρη. Πέρσι ο Πανιώνιος τερμάτισε στην έβδομη θέση της κατάταξης στη Stoiximan GBL και από τη νέα σεζόν θα αγωνίζεται ξανά στην Ευρώπη.

Το Gazzetta είχε ενημερώσει τις προηγούμενες ημέρες ότι η Ελλάδα οδεύει για δύο ομάδες στο EuroCup. Τα τελευταία χρόνια ο Άρης αποτελεί εκπρόσωπο της χώρας στη δεύτερη τη τάξει διοργάνωση της EuroLeague Basketball.

Η κιτρινόμαυρη ΚΑΕ κατέθεσε και φέτος φάκελο, σε μία κίνηση που συμβαδίζει με τα «θέλω» του επενδυτικού οργανισμού που προβλέπεται να αποκτήσει τις μετοχές της. Πέραν του Άρη, ο Πανιώνιος θα παίξει στο EuroCup, δίνοντας συνέχεια στα βήματα προόδου που γίνονται τα τελευταία χρόνια.
