Συνέτριψε τις ΗΠΑ και πέταξε για τα ημιτελικά του World Cup η Εθνική!

The National Team crushed the USA and flew to the semi-finals of the World Cup!

Putting on a great performance on defense and offense, the Women's National Polo Team defeated the USA 20-7 in Alexandroupoli to advance to the World Cup semifinals!

Our national team defeated the United States of America and solemnly qualified for the semi-finals of the Women's Water Polo World Cup!

The girls of Haris Pavlidis put on an excellent performance in defense and attack against the USA at the "Dimosthenis Michalentzakis" Swimming Pool in Alexandroupolis, winning with an impressive 20-7 in the 3rd and last game of the group stage.

With this three points, the "blue and white" reached 6 points, overtook Hungary (5b.) in the 2nd place of the group and ensured its presence in the semi-finals of the competition, where it will face the undefeated Netherlands.

The most important of all, however, is the fact that the National Team ensured its presence in the Super Final of the event, where three tickets will be given for the World Championship in the summer in Singapore!

First scorer for Greece was Stefania Santa with 3 goals, while E. Pleuritou, Elliniadis, Siouti, V. Pleuritou, Tricha, Ninou and Myriokephalitaki.

The match:

The beginning of the match was quite balanced, with both defenses having the first say in the match. The ones who opened the scoring were the American women in the third minute with Sekulic's goal to the player above, for Ciuti to answer seconds later. In fact, with Irini Nino's goal on the player above, our national team made it 2-1, with the USA equalizing with a penalty by Flynn. In the last minute of the first period came an aggressive outburst of the "blue and white", which thanks to the goals of Tricha and Myriokephalitaki, closed the first eight minutes in front with a score of 4-2!

Having found a rhythm and slowly picking up speed at both ends of the pool, the team of Haris Pavlidis reached +4 and 6-2 with the goals of Santa and Vassiliki Pleuritou after ten minutes of the match! In fact, shortly after, Pleuritou and Elliniadi with two beautiful goals made it 8-3 in the 14th minute, before the visitors reduced it to 8-4 at halftime with Flynn scoring the player above.

The third quarter was also the best for the representative group of the country and this because, not only did our players not turn around, on the contrary, they completely dominated the "Demosthenis Michalentzakis" pool, constantly bombarding the opponent's goal! Starring Eleftheria Pleuritou, Eleni Helliniadi and Stefania Santa, Greece ran an impressive 7-1 individual score, ending the third eight minutes with the score at 12-4!

Somehow, the fourth and last period acquired a procedural character, with our National Team continuing to easily find the way to the American goal, taking the victory and also the qualification to the next round with the final 20-7.

The eight minutes: 4-2, 8-4, 12-4, 20-7.

Πραγματοποιώντας σπουδαία εμφάνιση σε άμυνα και επίθεση, η Εθνική ομάδα πόλο Γυναικών επικράτησε με 20-7 των ΗΠΑ στην Αλεξανδρούπολη και προκρίθηκε στα ημιτελικά του World Cup!

Υπέταξε της Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες της Αμερικής και προκρίθηκε πανηγυρικά στα ημιτελικά του World Cup Υδατοσφαίρισης Γυναικών η Εθνική μας ομάδα!

Τα κορίτσια του Χάρη Παυλίδη πραγματοποίησαν εξαιρετική εμφάνιση σε άμυνα και επίθεση επί των ΗΠΑ στο Κολυμβητήριο «Δημοσθένης Μιχαλεντζάκης» της Αλεξανδρούπολης, επικρατώντας με το εντυπωσιακό 20-7 στο πλαίσιο της 3ης και τελευταίας αγωνιστικής της φάσης των ομίλων.

Με το τρίποντο αυτό, η «γαλανόλευκη» έφτασε τους 6 βαθμούς, προσπέρασε την Ουγγαρία (5β.) στη 2η θέση του γκρουπ και εξασφάλισε την παρουσία της στα ημιτελικά της διοργάνωσης, εκεί όπου θα αντιμετωπίσει την αήττητη, Ολλανδία.

Το πιο σημαντικό όλων πάντως, είναι το γεγονός πως η Εθνική εξασφάλισε την παρουσία της στο Super Final της διοργάνωσης, εκεί όπου θα δοθούν τρία εισιτήρια για το Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα το καλοκαίρι στη Σιγκαπούρη!

Πρώτη σκόρερ για την Ελλάδα ήταν η Στεφανία Σάντα με 3 γκολ, ενώ, από δύο πρόσθεσες οι Ε. Πλευρίτου, Ελληνιάδη, Σιούτη, Β. Πλευρίτου, Τριχά, Νίνου και Μυριοκεφαλιτάκη.

Το ματς:

Αρκετά ισορροπημένο ήταν το ξεκίνημα του αγώνα, με τις δύο άμυνες να έχουν τον πρώτο λόγο στο ματς. Εκείνες που άνοιξαν το σκορ ήταν οι Αμερικανίδες στο τρίτο λεπτό με τέρμα της Σέκουλιτς στην παίκτρια παραπάνω, για να απαντήσει η Σιούτη δευτερόλεπτα αργότερα. Μάλιστα, με τέρμα της Ειρήνης Νίνου στην παίκτρια παραπάνω, η Εθνική μας έκανε το 2-1, με τις ΗΠΑ να ισοφαρίζουν με πέναλτι της Φλιν. Στο τελευταίο λεπτό της πρώτης περιόδου ήρθε ένα επιθετικό ξέσπασμα της «γαλανόλευκης», η οποία χάρη στα γκολ της Τριχά και της Μυριοκεφαλιτάκη, έκλεισε το πρώτο οκτάλεπτο μπροστά με σκορ 4-2!

Έχοντας βρει ρυθμό και ανεβάζοντας σιγά-σιγά στροφές και στις δύο άκρες της πισίνας, η ομάδα του Χάρη Παυλίδη έφτασε στο +4 και το 6-2 με τα τέρματα των Σάντα και Βασιλικής Πλευρίτου μετά από δέκα λεπτά αγώνα! Μάλιστα, λίγο μετά, η Πλευρίτου και η Ελληνιάδη με δύο πανέμορφα τέρματα έγραψαν το 8-3 στο 14', προτού οι φιλοξενούμενες μειώσουν στο 8-4 του ημιχρόνου με την Φλιν στην παίκτρια παραπάνω.

Το τρίτο δεκάλεπτο ήταν και το καλύτερο για το αντιπροσωπευτικό συγκρότημα της χώρας και αυτό διότι, οι παίκτριές μας όχι μόνο δεν έριξαν στροφές, αντιθέτως, κυριάρχησαν απόλυτα στην πισίνα του «Δημοσθένης Μιχαλεντζάκης», βομβαρδίζοντας συνεχώς το αντίπαλο τέρμα! Με πρωταγωνίστριες τις Ελευθερία Πλευρίτου, Ελένη Ελληνιάδη και Στεφανία Σάντα, η Ελλάδα έτρεξε ένα εντυπωσιακό επιμέρους σκορ 7-1, κλείνοντας το τρίτο οκτάλεπτο με το σκορ στο 12-4!

Κάπως έτσι, η τέταρτη και τελευταία περίοδος απέκτησε διαδικαστικό χαρακτήρα, με την Εθνική μας να συνεχίζει να βρίσκει εύκολα τον δρόμο προς το αμερικανικό τέρμα, παίρνοντας τη νίκη και μαζί την πρόκριση στον επόμενο γύρο με το τελικό 20-7.
