The EPO is discussing the "restructuring of all categories" - What will it propose for VAR

In addition to the discussion on the referee in the presence of Stéphane Lanois and his two partners and the proposal to reinstate the Super Cup, the meeting of the Professional Football Commission next Tuesday will deal with other important issues.

The "restructuring of all categories" will be on the table. This specific issue was discussed at the last meeting of the executive committee. The thought that exists in the EPO is that the Super League will be held by 16 teams, from 14 that are currently.

In Super League 2 there should be a gradual reduction up to 16 teams and the championship be held in one group. The 3rd National should be converted into a semi-professional category with two groups and, finally, the 4th National should be reinstated as a national amateur category with 10-12 groups.

The proposal of the EPO, which requests a change in the Super League calendar so that the league ends on May 11, as well as the issue of the new contract for the "VAR system", will be discussed. The current contract expires next July and the government has announced it will stop paying the costs, as it has been doing since 2019.

The EPO wants to contribute to the cost by donating the amount that will arise from the 5% on the gross amount of the contracts and renewals of footballers, which it collects from the Super League PAEs.

Εκτός από τη συζήτηση για τη διαιτησία παρουσία του Στεφάν Λανουά και των δύο συνεργατών του και τη πρόταση για την επαναφορά του Super Cup, η συνεδρίαση της Επιτροπής Επαγγελματικού Ποδοσφαίρου την ερχόμενη Τρίτη θα ασχοληθεί και με άλλα σημαντικά θέματα.

Στο τραπέζι θα μπει η «αναδιάρθρωση όλων των κατηγοριών». Το συγκεκριμένο θέμα είχε συζητηθεί στην τελευταία συνεδρίαση της εκτελεστικής επιτροπής. Η σκέψη που υπάρχει στην ΕΠΟ είναι η Super League να διεξάγεται 16 ομάδες, από 14 που είναι σήμερα.

Στη Super League 2 να υπάρξει σταδιακή μείωση έως τις 16 ομάδες και διεξαγωγή του πρωταθλήματος σε έναν όμιλο. Η Γ’ Εθνική να μετατραπεί σε ημιεπαγγελατική κατηγορία με δύο ομίλους και, τέλος, να επανέλθει η Δ’ Εθνική ως εθνική ερασιτεχνική κατηγορία με 10 – 12 ομίλους.

Προς συζήτηση θα τεθεί η εισήγηση της ΕΠΟ η οποία ζητεί αλλαγή στο καλεντάρι της Super League ώστε το πρωτάθλημα να τελειώσει στις 11 Μαΐου όπως και το θέμα της νέας σύμβασης για το «σύστημα VAR». Η τρέχουσα σύμβαση λήγει τον προσεχή Ιούλιο και η κυβέρνηση έχει διαμηνύσει ότι θα πάψει να πληρώνει το κόστος, όπως κάνει από το 2019.

Η ΕΠΟ θέλει να συμβάλει στο κόστος δίνοντας το ποσό που θα προκύψει από το 5% επί του μικτού ποσού των συμβολαίων και των ανανεώσεων ποδοσφαιριστών, που εισπράττει από τις ΠΑΕ της Super League.
