Villeurbanne needed the extra five minutes of overtime to bend the resistance of Alba Berlin, which it defeated 96-89 for the 22nd game of the EuroLeague.
Villeurbanne beat Alba Berlin 96-89 in overtime, after a dramatic match that was decided in the details.
The Germans had a chance to take the match in regulation time as Delow scored for three to equalize, but missed the game-winning shot, sending the match into five minutes of extra time.

The fight
Villeurbanne were in control at the start of the match, holding the lead for most of the first 20 minutes. With a 13-0 run at the beginning of the second period, Puppe's team increased the difference to 15 points (34-19). The third quarter was balanced, with the Germans staying alive, mainly through the shots of Matt Thomas (70-62).
