Το ντέρμπι μεταξύ Λίβερπουλ και Μάντσεστερ Γιουνάιτεντ βρισκόταν στον... αέρα από το απόγευμα του Σαββάτου, αλλά τελικά δόθηκε το «πράσινο φως» για τη διεξαγωγή του, όπως ανακοίνωσε η πλευρά των Reds.
Η χιονόπτωση στο Μέρσεϊσαϊντ είχε ως αποτέλεσμα να ντυθεί στα «λευκά» το «Άνφιλντ», θέτοντας ερωτηματικό ως προς την ομαλή διεξαγωγή του αγώνα αλλά και τη μετακίνηση των φιλάθλων.
