Lakers: Gabe Vincent knocked out for at least eight weeks
Gabe Vincent's Calvary for the Los Angeles Lakers has another uphill battle after he underwent surgery and will be out for at least 8 weeks.
Gabe Vincent was acquired to great fanfare in the summer, and for good reason. He would be a great addition to the Los Angeles Lakers after a terrific season with the Miami Heat, where he made it all the way to the NBA Finals.
Except that presence in California can only be characterized by the designation... absence. The former Heat guard underwent surgery to correct a problem in his left knee.
And in eight weeks he is expected to be re-evaluated by the Lakers' doctors, to determine how much longer he will need to be out.
This season, he has managed to play in five games (5.4 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists on average), with the last appearance recorded on December 20 against the Chicago Bulls.

Ο... Γολγοθάς του Γκέιμπ Βίνσεντ στους Λος Άντζελες Λέικερς έχει άλλη μία ανηφόρα, αφού υποβλήθηκε σε επέμβαση και θα απουσιάσει για τουλάχιστον 8 εβδομάδες.
Ο Γκέιμπ Βίνσεντ αποκτήθηκε με τυμπανοκρουσίες και όχι άδικα το καλοκαίρι. Θα αποτελούσε μία εξαιρετική προσθήκη για τους Λος Άντζελες Λέικερς μετά από μία καταπληκτική σεζόν με τους Μαϊάμι Χιτ, όπου έφτασε μέχρι τους τελικούς του ΝΒΑ.
Μόνο που η παρουσία στην Καλιφόρνια μπορεί να χαρακτηριστεί μόνο με τον χαρακτηρισμό... απουσία. Ο άλλοτε γκαρντ των Χιτ υποβλήθηκε σε επέμβαση για να διορθώσει ένα πρόβλημα στο αριστερό του γόνατο.
Και σε οκτώ εβδομάδες αναμένεται να επανεξεταστεί από τους γιατρούς των Λέικερς, για να διαπιστώσουν πόσο καιρό επιπλέον θα χρειαστεί να μείνει εκτός.
Τη φετινή σεζόν έχει προλάβει να αγωνιστεί σε πέντε αγώνες (5.4 πόντους, 1 ριμπάουντ, 3 ασίστ σε μέσο όρο), με την τελευταία εμφάνιση να καταγράφεται στις 20 Δεκεμβρίου απέναντι στους Σικάγο Μπουλς.
