Prometheus - PAOK 80-73: Guests at Cowan's New Year's party (vid)

Prometheus closed with a victory in 2023, it was imposed on PAOK with a score of 80-73 and great star Anthony Cowan with 22 points and 9 assists. Hunter Hale is back.

Prometheus took the derby from PAOK (80-73), with Anthony Cowan making an excellent appearance with 12 points (out of 22) in the second half.

It was a match with a lot of basketball... wood, since 47 fouls were charged and three players were sent off (with 5 personal fouls).

Hunter Hale (9 points) stepped on the floor again after his hand injury.

With this victory, Prometheus doubled the victories against PAOK, after having also prevailed in the premiere with a score of 95-80.

The match

Prometheus started the match with 10-3, but five points in a row by Beliauskas collected both the difference and the bad start.

Prometheus saw Hunter Hale not only in the team's 12, but also on the court. With Papatheodoros' offensive options increasing. The 5/12 three-pointers for the Patras team is an aggressive sample. One of Hale's three-pointers brought the difference to 10 points for the first time (40-30).

At the same time, the home team got 11 points from its 6 offensive rebounds, with Coffey dominating this area (3). If Prometheus had a better creation (6 assists in the half), he could make it more difficult for PAOK.

At the start of the last period, Prometheus managed to bring the difference over 10 points again (66-53). Alston's dismissal five minutes before the end should have been the final blow for PAOK.

Margaritis gave points through his experience and a three-pointer by Fridriksson kept PAOK in the game (71-63).

The difference between the two teams was the choices. And they decided the match until the final.

WHERE THE MATCH WAS JUDGED: On the solutions that Prometheus had and could... answer every problem that PAOK tried to create.

BEST OF ALL: Anthony Cowan with 22 points (4/6 doubles, 2/4 triples, 8/10 shots) and 9 assists.

THEY EXPECTED MORE: Beliauskas had 7 points, but on 1/6 shooting and was held scoreless after the first few minutes of the game.

HIS PERFORMANCE TURNED: Fredrickson had 13 points and 9 assists.

CO-COMPATENT IN THE WIN: Both Reynolds (14 points, 5 rebounds) and Etsenike (14 points, 3 rebounds).

MATCH STATISTICS: Prometheus finished the match scoring exactly 20 points in each period, until he reached 80.

Ο Προμηθέας έκλεισε με νίκη το 2023, επιβλήθηκε του ΠΑΟΚ με σκορ 80-73 και μεγάλο πρωταγωνιστή τον Άντονι Κάουαν με 22 πόντους και 9 ασίστ. Επέστρεψε ο Χάντερ Χέιλ.

Ο Προμηθέας πήρε το ντέρμπι από τον ΠΑΟΚ (80-73), με τον Άντονι Κάουαν να κάνει μία εξαιρετική εμφάνιση με 12 πόντους (από τους 22) στο δεύτερο ημίχρονο.

Ήταν μία αναμέτρηση με αρκετό μπασκετικό... ξύλο, αφού καταλογίστηκαν 47 φάουλ και αποβλήθηκαν (με 5 προσωπικά φάουλ) τρεις παίκτες.

Πάτησε ξανά παρκέ ο Χάντερ Χέιλ (9π.) μετά τον τραυματισμό του στο χέρι.

Με αυτή τη νίκη ο Προμηθέας ντούμπλαρε τις νίκες απέναντι στον ΠΑΟΚ, αφού είχε επικρατήσει και στην πρεμιέρα με σκορ 95-80.

Το ματς

Ο Προμηθέας ξεκίνησε το ματς με 10-3, όμως πέντε σερί πόντοι του Μπελιάουσκας μάζεψαν και τη διαφορά και το κακό ξεκίνημα.

Ο Προμηθέας είδε τον Χάντερ Χέιλ όχι μόνο στη 12άδα της ομάδας, αλλά και στο παρκέ. Με τις επιθετικές επιλογές του Παπαθεοδώρου να αυξάνονται. Τα 5/12 τρίποντα για την ομάδα της Πάτρας είναι ένα επιθετικό δείγμα. Ένα από τα τρίποντα του Χέιλ έφεραν τη διαφορά για πρώτη φορά στους 10 πόντους (40-30).

Παράλληλα, η γηπεδούχος πήρε 11 πόντους από τα 6 επιθετικά ριμπάουντ της, με τον Κόφεϊ να κυριαρχεί σε αυτόν τον τομέα (3). Αν ο Προμηθέας είχε καλύτερη δημιουργία (6 ασίστ στο ημίχρονο) θα μπορουσε να βάλει πιο δύσκολα στον ΠΑΟΚ.

Η ομάδα της Θεσσαλονίκης στηρίχθηκε στο παιχνίδι κοντά στη ρακέτα και αν πρέπει να διαλέξουμε έναν παράγοντα που την κράτησε κοντά στο σκορ ήταν η επιμονή να σταματήσουν το transition παιχνίδι του Προμηθέα.

Η 3η περίοδος ξεκίνησε με τον Προμηθέα να σκοράρει τρία απανωτά τρίποντα (δύο από τον Ρέινολντς, ένα από τον Κόνιαρη) έφερε τη διαφορά στους 14 (49-35), ωστόσο ο ΠΑΟΚ δεν είχε πει τον τελευταίο λόγο. Εννιά πόντοι του Άλστον σε διάστημα σε κάτι παραπάνω από δύο λεπτά, ο έλεγχος των ριμπάουντ, αλλά και η αστοχία του Προμηθέα έκαναν το ματς ξανά ντέρμπι (52-47).

Όταν ο Άλστον (φορτώθηκε με τρία φάουλ) έχασε την επαφή με το σκορ, την απώλεσε και ο ΠΑΟΚ. «Βούτυρο στο ψωμί» του Προμηθέα, ο οποίος περιόρισε τον αντίπαλό του σε 4 πόντους στα τελευταία 3:25 (60-51 το σκορ στο τέλος της 3ης).

Με την έναρξη της τελευταίας περιόδου, ο Προμηθέας κατάφερε να φέρει ξανά τη διαφορά πάνω από τους 10 πόντους (66-53). Η αποβολή του Άλστον πέντε λεπτά πριν το τέλος θα έπρεπε να ήταν το τελειωτικό χτύπημα για τον ΠΑΟΚ.

Ο Μαργαρίτης έδωσε πόντους μέσα από την εμπειρία του και ένα τρίποντο του Φρίντρικσον κράτησε τον ΠΑΟΚ μέσα στο παιχνίδι (71-63).

Η διαφορά των δύο ομάδων ήταν οι επιλογές. Και αυτές έκριναν το ματς μέχρι το φινάλε.

ΠΟΥ ΚΡΙΘΗΚΕ ΤΟ ΜΑΤΣ: Στις λύσεις που είχε ο Προμηθέας και μπορούσε να... απαντήσει σε κάθε πρόβλημα που επιχειρούσε να βάλει ο ΠΑΟΚ.

ΠΕΡΙΜΕΝΑΝ ΠΕΡΙΣΣΟΤΕΡΑ: Ο Μπελιάουσκας είχε 7 πόντους, αλλά με 1/6 σουτ και έμεινε δίχως σκορ μετά τα πρώτα λεπτά του αγώνα.

ΠΗΓΕ ΣΤΡΑΦΙ Η ΑΠΟΔΟΣΉ ΤΟΥ: Ο Φρίντρικσον είχε 13 πόντους και 9 ασίστ.

ΤΟ ΣΤΑΤΙΣΤΙΚΟ ΤΟΥ ΜΑΤΣ: Ο Προμηθέας έκλεισε το ματς σημειώνοντας από 20 πόντους ακριβώς σε κάθε περίοδο, μέχρι να φτάσει στους 80.
