AEK threw away the golden opportunity, showed they were not ready for the stars and after the new victory of Antwerp (2-1) they continue in the Europa League where they can distinguish themselves with... Livai and improvement in the set play!

With the eleven that everyone expected, Almeyda lined up AEK.

Once Stankovic was ready, he returned under the posts with Rota, Vida, Mukudi and Hadjisafi in the back four.

In the center, Szymanski was the "six" and Pineda the "eight" with Amrabat and Zuber on the... wings, with Gacinovic (s.a. surprise it's true) moving behind Ponce who was called to cover the emptiness of the unprepared, Levia Garcia.

Numb start for AEK and then opportunities

Start a la... Panserraikos for AEK. Union went in numb with Antwerp controlling the pace, having possession and being the first to threaten in the match.

Antwerp actually reminded AEK of last season. He pressed high, won balls and it is typical that in the first five minutes he stepped on the AEK area at least three times, having his first good moment in the match only in the 4th minute with a shot by Muya that Stankovic took.

And after AEK bloodlessly passed the six-minute mark, they slowly began to find their balance. To calm down, to press and to try to create dangerous situations in the home of the Belgians. As it happened in the 14th minute with the ball not reaching Gacinovic who was guarding to execute either with his head or with his feet.

The 0-0 remained with AEK improving its image as the minutes went by and increasing the pressure on the home of the Belgians who were trying to attack mainly in transition looking for opportunities to find the Union in the... clearing. And in the 16th minute it was Ponce's turn to threaten. The Argentinian headed in Hadjisafi's well-weighted cross, but the ball didn't do him any favors.

In the 21st minute Union had another good moment thanks to the stubbornness of Pineda, but Ponce's header in the Belgian defense did not have a happy ending. It was evident inside the stadium that a battle of tactics and spirit was taking place with the crowd trying to push the Almeida players.

AEK continued to pound the Belgians, not letting them catch their breath with Ponce missing a great chance for 1-0 in the 25th minute. After a steal, Pineda fed Ponce, who fired a shot from the edge of the area, with Bute clearing for a corner.

After 30', Almeida restored the "factory settings". He put Zuber behind Ponce and Gacinovic, with AEK threatening again in the 36th minute. The Swiss teamed up with Amrabad who shot but the ball went wide.

The 0-0 remained with AEK looking for the goal in an orthodox way and Antwerp confirming the hardness in defense and the fairly good transition. So the half ended without a score with the Union of the 9 finals with one on target, however, showing that they can find at least one goal to enter the qualification game strongly.

1-0 Antwerp and a thriller after 90'

The two teams started the second 45 minutes without changes, with Zuber staying behind the forward and Gacinovic on the left.

AEK was looking for the goal with faith in its plan and without panic against a well-prepared, it is true, defensive Antwerp that was looking for something good on the counter. The score remained 0-0, AEK was in control and the world was trying to enter the equation as a 12th man with the voice.

And in the 53rd minute, AEK almost reached the coveted 1-0 with Pineda's shot being blocked by the Belgian team's defense. In the 57th minute, Ponce found himself in a shooting position, but the shot was countered and ended up as a corner.

Time was passing, AEK's lines had opened giving Antwerp the right in the 61st minute to miss a unique opportunity to reach the goal.

The Belgians came a click from 0-1 with Mouya on a parallel cross from the goal, not putting his body correctly in the empty net, not finding the ball and losing the chance of the match.

The 0-0 remained with Antwerp having the blow in the 65th minute with their top player, Alderweireld. The experienced stopper suffered a shoulder injury and was replaced by Den Bos.

In the 69th minute, Almeida played the cards of Eliasson-Araujo instead of Amrabad-Zuber, but it was Antwerp who found a goal and "froze" New Philadelphia.

In the 72nd minute, after a brilliant lateral execution, Balikuisa left behind Rota and made the parallel turn, with Kirk placing into an empty net and making it 0-1.

And somewhere there everything seemed to end... The world tried to give AEK a boost, but the Union seemed unable to. And where everything seemed finished, Araujo came in the 90th minute to make it 1-1 and give dimension... a thriller to the match. The captain of AEK brought the ball down nicely, shot and sent it... into the net, putting "fire" in New Philadelphia.

And where AEK opened up, they all came forward, Antwerp struck on the counter and reached 90+5' at 2-1 with Baliquisa. And somewhere there it all ended.

Η ΑΕΚ πέταξε την χρυσή ευκαιρία, έδειξε ανέτοιμη για τα αστέρια και μετά τη νέα νίκη της Άντβερπ (2-1) συνεχίζει στο Europa League όπου μπορεί να διακριθεί με… Λιβάι και βελτίωση στο σετ παιχνίδι!

Με την ενδεκάδα που ανέμεναν άπαντες, παρέταξε την ΑΕΚ ο Αλμέιδα.

Από τη στιγμή που ο Στάνκοβιτς ήταν έτοιμος, επέστρεψε κάτω από τα δοκάρια με του Ρότα, Βίντα, Μουκουντί και Χατζισαφί να είναι στην τετράδα της άμυνας.

Στο κέντρο ο Σιμάνσκι ήταν το «εξάρι» και ο Πινέδα το «οκτάρι» με τους Άμραμπατ και Τσούμπερ στα... φτερά, με τον Γκατσίνοβιτς (σ.σ. έκπληξη είναι αλήθεια) να κινείται πίσω από τον Πόνσε που κλήθηκε να καλύψει το κενό του ανέτοιμου, Λιβάι Γκαρσία.

Μουδιασμένο ξεκίνημα η ΑΕΚ και εν συνεχεία ευκαιρίες

Ξεκίνημα α λά... Πανσερραϊκός για την ΑΕΚ. Η Ένωση μπήκε μουδιασμένα με αποτέλεσμα η Αντβέρπ να ελέγχει τον ρυθμό, να έχει την κατοχή και να είναι αυτή που απείλησε πρώτη στο ματς. 

Η Αντβέρπ επί της ουσίας θύμιζε την ΑΕΚ της περσινής σεζόν. Πίεζε ψηλά, κέρδιζε μπάλες και είναι χαρακτηριστικό πως στο πρώτο πεντάλεπτο πάτησε τουλάχιστον τρεις φορές την περιοχή της ΑΕΚ έχοντας την πρώτη της καλή στιγμή στο ματς μόλις στο 4' με σουτ του Μούγια που έβγαλε ο Στάνκοβιτς.

Και αφού η ΑΕΚ ξεπέρασε αναίμακτα το εξάλεπτο, άρχισε σιγά-σιγά να ισορροπεί. Να ηρεμεί, να πιέζει και να προσπαθεί να δημιουργήσει επικίνδυνες καταστάσεις στην εστία των Βέλγων. Όπως έγινε στο 14' δις με την μπάλα να μην φθάνει στον Γκατσίνοβιτς που καιροφυλακτούσε για να εκτελέσει είτε με το κεφάλι είτε με τα πόδια. 

Το 0-0 παρέμενε με την ΑΕΚ όσο περνούσαν τα λεπτά να βελτιώνει την εικόνα της και να αυξάνει την πίεση στην εστία των Βέλγων που προσπαθούσαν να επιτεθούν κυρίως στο τρανζίσιον ψάχνοντας ευκαιρίες να βρουν την Ένωση στο... ξέφωτο. Και στο 16' ήταν η σειρά του Πόνσε να απειλήσει. Ο Αργεντινός πήρε την κεφαλιά στην καλοζυγισμένη σέντρα του Χατζισαφί, αλλά η μπάλα δεν του έκανε το... χατίρι. 

Στο 21' η Ένωση είχε νέα καλή στιγμή ελέω του πείσματος του Πινέδα, αλλά η κεφαλιά του Πόνσε στην αναμπουμπούλα της βελγικής άμυνας δεν είχε ευτυχή κατάληξη. Ήταν εμφανές μέσα στο γήπεδο ότι διεξαγόταν μία μάχη τακτικών και ψυχής με τον κόσμο να προσπαθεί να σπρώξει τους παίκτες του Αλμέιδα.

Η ΑΕΚ συνέχισε να σφυροκοπά τους Βέλγους, να μην τους αφήνει να πάρουν ανάσα με τον Πόνσε να χάνει στο 25' μεγάλη ευκαιρία για το 1-0. Έπειτα από κλέψιμο της μπάλας, ο Πινέδα τροφοδότησε τον Πόνσε, ο οποίος έκανε το σουτ από τα όρια της περιοχής, με τον Μπουτέ να διώχνει σε κόρνερ.

Μετά το 30' ο Αλμέιδα επανέφερε τις «εργοστασιακές ρυθμίσεις». Έβαλε τον Τσούμπερ πίσω από τον Πόνσε και τον Γκατσίνοβιτς, με την ΑΕΚ να απειλεί εκ νέου στο 36'. Ο Ελβετός συνεργάστηκε με τον Άμραμπατ που σούταρε, αλλά η μπάλα πέρασε άουτ. 

Το 0-0 παρέμενε με την ΑΕΚ να ψάχνει το γκολ με ορθόδοξο τρόπο και την Αντβέρπ να επιβεβαιώνει τη σκληράδα στην άμυνα και το αρκετά καλό τρανζίσιον. Έτσι το ημίχρονο ολοκληρώθηκε χωρίς σκορ με την Ενωση των 9 τελικών με μία εντός στόχου, πάντως, να δείχνει πως μπορεί να βρει τουλάχιστον το ένα γκολ για να μπει δυνατά στο παιχνίδι της πρόκρισης. 

1-0 η Αντβέρπ και θρίλερ μετά το 90'

Οι δύο ομάδες ξεκίνησαν το δεύτερο 45λεπτο χωρίς αλλαγές, με τον Τσούμπερ να μένει πίσω από τον φορ και τον Γκατσίνοβιτς στην αριστερή πλευρά.

Η ΑΕΚ έψαχνε το γκολ με πίστη στο πλάνο της και χωρίς πανικό απέναντι σε μία καλοστημένη, είναι αλήθεια, αμυντικά Αντβέρπ που έψαχνε κάτι καλό στην κόντρα. Το 0-0 παρέμενε, η ΑΕΚ έλεγχε και ο κόσμος προσπαθούσε να μπει στην εξίσωση ως 12ος παίκτης με τη φωνή.

Και στο 53' η ΑΕΚ λίγο έλειψε να φθάσει στο πολυπόθητο 1-0 με το γύρισμα του Πινέδα να κόβεται από την άμυνα της βελγικής ομάδας. Στο 57' ο Πόνσε βρέθηκε σε θέση βολής, αλλά το σουτ κόντραρε και κατέληξε κόρνερ. 

Ο χρόνος περνούσε, οι γραμμές της ΑΕΚ είχαν ανοίξει δίνοντας το δικαίωμα στην Αντβέρπ στο 61' να χάσει μοναδική ευκαιρία για να φθάσει στο γκολ. 

Οι Βέλγοι έφθασαν ένα κλικ από το 0-1 με τον Μούγια σε παράλληλη σέντρα από το τέρμα, να μην βάζει σωστά στην κενή εστία το σώμα του, να μην βρίσκει την μπάλα και να χάνει την ευκαιρία του ματς. 

Το 0-0 παρέμενε με την Αντβέρπ να ΄χει στο 65' το πλήγμα με τον κορυφαίο παίκτη της, Αλντερβάιρελντ. Ο έμπειρος στόπερ τραυματίστηκε στον ώμο και αντικαταστάθηκε από τον Ντεν Μπος. 

Στο 69' ο Αλμέιδα έπαιξε τα χαρτιά των Ελίασον-Αραούχο αντί των Άμραμπατ-Τσούμπερ, αλλά η Αντβέρπ ήταν αυτή που βρήκε γκολ και «πάγωσε» τη Νέα Φιλαδέλφεια.

Στο 72' έπειτα  από πανέξυπνη εκτέλεση πλαγίου, ο Μπαλίκουισα άφησε πίσω τον Ρότα και έκανε το παράλληλο γύρισμα, με τον Κερκ να πλασάρει σε κενή εστία και να κάνει το 0-1.

Και κάπου εκεί όλα φάνηκε να τελειώνουν... Ο κόσμος προσπάθησε να δώσει ώθηση στην ΑΕΚ, αλλά η Ένωση έδειχνε να μην μπορεί. Και εκεί που όλα έδειχναν τελειωμένα, ήρθε στο 90' ο Αραούχο να κάνει το 1-1 και να δώσει διαστάσεις... θρίλερ στην αναμέτρηση. Ο κάπτεν της ΑΕΚ κατέβασε ωραία την μπάλα, σούταρε και την έστειλε... στο πλεκτό βάζοντας «φωτιά» στη Νέα Φιλαδέλφεια.

Και εκεί που η ΑΕΚ ανοίχτηκε, βγήκε όλη μπροστά, η Αντβέρπ χτύπησε στην κόντρα και έφθασε στο 90+5' στο 2-1 με τον Μπαλικουίσα. Και κάπου εκεί όλα τελείωσαν.
