Chances with the sack, pressure and in the end... zero!

Our national team in its first game at the OPAP Arena created a dozen chances, but the ball did not go in and the 0-0 in the friendly with Lithuania remained until the end.

Greece came on strong and threatened twice in the quarter. In the 3rd minute, Masouras turned to Pavlidis who went out to the first post sending the ball out. In the 7th minute, Greece had another chance with Siopis making the shot outside the area and sending the ball just wide.

The National team entered the match with tremendous momentum, with the "aura" and the "castle" of the OPAP Arena, having two new opportunities within a few seconds. In the 16th minute, Rota entered the area, but did not have time to execute with Masoura in progress of the phase to shoot, but the Lithuanians drive away.

The score remained 0-0 with the National team pressing, but not being able to send the ball into the opponent's net, as happened in the 32nd minute with Masoura following a ball from Fortounis, executing from a side position and Zoubas chasing away in corner kick.

Greece continued at the same tempo, missing new opportunities in the 36th minute with Pavlidis, in the 45th minute with a header by Mavropanos and three good moments in the delays. Specifically, at 45+2', Pavlidis' shot ended up as a corner, with Mavropanos seeing his header deflected almost over the line seconds later.

In the 45+3', the National team had another chance. Fortounis and Rota worked together, the latter turned, but the ball was against the shot of Pavlidis and Zoumbas collected it with 0-0 being the result of the half-time, recommending a magical image.

Many missed opportunities in the second half as well

The National team entered the second half with a bang and threatened on two occasions before the quarter was even over. In the 50th minute, Zoumbas said "no" to Bakaseta's shot and two minutes later he had an answer to Mandalo's place kick with the score remaining 0-0.

In 54', Mandalos took the header from an advantageous position after a cross from Rota, with the ball not having a happy ending with the Lithuanians having their first moment of the match in 57' with Sirgedas' shot which Vlahodemos easily saved .

With Lithuania threatening in the 64th and 66th with Novikovas. Now the match was open...

The 0-0 remained with Giakoumakis just two minutes after entering the field threatening to follow in the 73' Zumba's pursuit of Atlanta's ace on Fortounis' dangerous cross. The National Team of the 22 finals could not find a goal against a Lithuania that kept the 0-0 with an ally and luck.

In the 83rd minute, it was Giannoulis' turn to not be able to send the ball into the Lithuanian net with Baravikas pushing over the line.

Η εθνική μας ομάδα στο πρώτο της παιχνίδι στην OPAP Arena δημιούργησε μια ντουζίνα ευκαιρίες, όμως η μπάλα δεν μπήκε μέσα και το 0-0 στο φιλικό με την Λιθουανία έμεινε μέχρι το τέλος.

Η Ελλάδα μπήκε δυνατά και απείλησε δις στο δεκάλεπτο. Στο 3' ο Μασούρας γύρισε στον Παυλίδη που βγήκε στο πρώτο δοκάρι στέλνοντας την μπάλα άουτ. Στο 7' η Ελλάδα είχε νέα ευκαιρία  με τον Σιώπη να κάνει το σουτ έξω από την περιοχή και να στέλνει τη μπάλα λίγο άουτ.

Η Εθνική μπήκε στο ματς με τρομερή ορμή, με την «αύρα» και του «κάστρου» της OPAP Arena έχοντας δύο νέες ευκαιρίες σε διάστημα λίγων δευτερολέπτων.Στο 16' ο Ρότα μπήκε στην περιοχή, αλλά δεν πρόλαβε να εκτελέσει με τον Μασούρα στην εξέλιξη της φάσης να σουτάρει, αλλά να διώχνουν οι Λιθουανοί.

Το 0-0 παρέμενε με την Εθνική να είναι πιεστική, αλλά να μην μπορεί να στείλει την μπάλα στα αντίπαλα δίχτυα, όπως συνέβη και στο 32' με τον Μασούρα έπειτα από μπαλιά του Φορτούνη, να εκτελεί από πλάγια θέση και τον Ζούμπας να διώχνει σε κόρνερ.

Η Ελλάδα συνέχισε στο ίδιο τέμπο χάνοντας νέες ευκαιρίες στο 36' με τον Παυλίδη, στο 45' με κεφαλιά του Μαυροπάνου και τρεις καλές στιγμές στις καθυυστερήσεις. Συγκεκριμένα, στο 45+2' το σουτ του Παυλίδη κατέληξε κόρνερ, με τον Μαυροπάνο να βλέπει δευτερόλεπτα αργότερα την κεφαλιά του να αποκρούεται σχεδόν πάνω στη γραμμή.

Στο 45+3' η Εθνική είχε νέα ευκαιρία. Οι Φορτούνης και Ρότα συνεργάστηκαν, ο δεύτερος γύρισε, αλλά η μπάλα κόντραρε στο σουτ του Παυλίδη και ο Ζούμπας τη μάζεψε με το 0-0 να είναι το αποτέλεσμα του ημιχρόνου συνιστώντας μαγική εικόνα.

Πολλές χαμένες ευκαιρίες και στο β'

Η Εθνική μπήκε με φόρα και στο β' μέρος και απείλησε σε δύο περιπτώσεις πριν καν συμπληρωθεί το δεκάλεπτο. Στο 50' ο Ζούμπας είπε «όχι» στο σουτ του Μπακασέτα και δύο λεπτά αργότερα είχε απάντηση στο πλασέ του Μάνταλου με το 0-0 να παραμένει.

Στο 54' ο Μάνταλος πήρε την κεφαλιά από πλεονεκτική θέση έπειτα από σέντρα του Ρότα, με την μπάλα να μην έχει ευτυχή κατάληξη με τους Λιθουανούς να έχουν την πρώτη τους στιγμή στο ματς στο 57' με το σουτ του Σιργκέντας που απέκρουσε με άνεση ο Βλαχοδήμος.

Με τη Λιθουανία να απειλεί στο 64' και στο 66' δις με τον Νοβίκοβας. Πλέον το ματς είχε ανοίξει...

To 0-0 παρέμενε με τον Γιακουμάκη μόλις δύο λεπτά μετά την είσοδο του στο γήπεδο να απειλεί για να ακολουθήσει στο 73΄ το διώξιμο του Ζούμπας προ του άσου της Ατλάντα στην επικίνδυνη σέντρα του Φορτούνη. Η Εθνική των 22 τελικών δεν μπορούσε να βρει γκολ απέναντι σε μία Λιθουανία που κρατούσε το 0-0 με σύμμαχο και την τύχη.

Στο 83' ήταν η σειρά του Γιαννούλη να μην μπορέσει να στείλει την μπάλα στα δίχτυα των Λιθουανών με τον Μπαραβίκας να διώχνει πάνω στη γραμμή.
