EuroLeague: New justification for Panathinaikos, Olympiacos goes to CAS again

New justification for Panathinaikos, new rejection in the appeal of Olympiacos by the Appeals Committee of the EuroLeague. Piraeus has the right to be in the CAS again and they will probably do so.


There is no competitive action due to the mockery, but that does not mean that the EuroLeague has been downgraded. In fact, the Appeals Committee of the tournament again acquitted Panathinaikos in the case of the November 2018 derby in OAKA and rejected the appeal of Olympiacos.

The CAS had returned the Panathinaikos-Olympiakos dispute to the EuroLeague Sports Judge and he acquitted - as for the first time - the Greens on 18 February, deeming that they were not involved in what the Piraeus accused them of.

Olympiacos appealed and today the competent EuroLeague Committee acquitted Panathinaikos again. Now the red and whites have the right to appeal to the CAS again and they will probably do that. They have time until the end of the month, but all their moves show that they will continue this controversial controversy.

Νέα δικαίωση για τον Παναθηναϊκό, νέα απόρριψη στην προσφυγή του Ολυμπιακού απο την Επιτροπή Εφέσεων της EuroLeague. Οι Πειραιώτες έχουν το δικαίωμα να βρεθούν ξανά στο CAS και πιθανότατα θα το κάνουν.

Αγωνιστική δράση δεν υπάρχει εξαιτίας του κορονοϊού, αυτό δεν σημαίνει όμως ότι στη EuroLeague έχουν κατεβάσει ρολά. Κάθε άλλο μάλιστα, καθώς η Επιτροπή Εφέσεων της διοργάνωσης δικαίωσε και πάλι τον Παναθηναϊκό στην υπόθεση του ντέρμπι του Νοεμβρίου του 2018 στο ΟΑΚΑ και απέρριψε την προσφυγή του Ολυμπιακού.

Το CAS είχε επέστρεψει τη διαμάχη Παναθηναϊκού - Ολυμπιακού στον Αθλητικό Δικαστή της EuroLeague και εκείνος αθώωσε - όπως και την πρώτη φορά - τους πράσινους στις 18 Φεβρουαρίου, κρίνοντας πως δεν έχουν εμπλοκή σε όσα τους κατηγόρησαν οι Πειραιώτες.

Ο Ολυμπιακός έκανε έφεση και σήμερα η αρμόδια Επιτροπή της EuroLeague δικαίωσε πάλι τον Παναθηναϊκό. Πλέον οι ερυθρόλευκοι έχουν εκ νέου το δικαίωμα να προσφύγουν στο CAS και μάλλον αυτό θα κάνουν. Εχουν χρονικό περίθώριο μέχρι το τέλος του μήνα, αλλά όλες οι κινήσεις τους δείχνουν πως θα δώσουν συνέχεια σε αυτή τη διικαστική διαμάχη.
